this guy is like devin townsend for bikes and I love it
what got me to switch back to a bmx was the amount a skateparks I rode. Smaller ramps felt really tight and fast on the DJ
spot on! i'm right here, right now. and went with the dirt jumper (for now) as im a life long trail rider
I’ve ridden both .. and from my experience, I’ll give my OWN opinion .. if you’re over 35 and haven’t ridden in over a decade ( like in my case ) then go with the dirt jumper .. if you’re still in your 20’s or younger, BMX is a safe and cheaper bet for you!!! Like I said , just my opinion 🤙🏻 in my older years ( I’ll be 40 this year ) I need the extra suspension and bigger wheels .. more control, and I’m strictly riding dirt and trails .. I wouldn’t touch a skate park these days 😂
BMX 100%, since it's a bit cheaper you can also afford the wheelchair you'll need after breaking your back on that 90 degree headtube angle
I would have liked to of seen a "dangerously flying through the air" comparison. Keep up the good work.
There's that green Polygon again. Nice!
Super informative.... now I want a BMX..... and maybe a DJ bike too.
I have a couple of 29" bmx Bikes now that I am an old man. There is something very exciting about a 26" DJ Bike, so I had to buy one and see for myself what the magic is all about! Well I have gone off the deep end and want two more DJ Bikes!! Mainly wanting one for street rides and one for dirt rides, no matter how you stack it, you can't go wrong with a solid DJ Bike!!!
having a dirt jumper in the fleet is the best thing ever!
Since it‘s getting dark earlier now, consider this as a tiny help to keep the lights on. I refrain from buying merch untill you and Angela follow Russ and Laura to Europe. ;)
As an aside - I went through a merch store order just there and it was only £4.01 shipping to the UK!
@@MikeyTiger37 thanks. that doesn‘t sound too bad.
Bring back the GTMX! This has always been on my mind since I want to ride a bmx but I'm too big and the dirt jumper isnt exactly what I'm looking for so I did a 90s mtb conversion inspired by the GTMX
I just got a dirt jumper after riding a 26 inch bmx for a while and before that 20 inches, honestly I feel like the dirt jumper is harder for 180s and things like that, I don't have any pump tracks or trails around here really, thinking about getting a 22inch bmx for tricks and the dirt jumper for jumps, but I want to learn the tricks on the dirt jumper so when I go to bmx it's a lot easier
Ooh, you should try a 24" trials bike to fill in the blank spots in the Bikez Scale 👍
Don’t get down with comments. I came here in the early days for the fixed gear, drop bar and shop content. I’ve stayed for your personality.
Being a rider of a 26” bmx it’s bmx! Sure it’s heavy but you can take it to the skatepark & the pumptrack or just roll it out through the streets for some street. And they look cooler :) 👍
Thanks for that!! I don't dirt jump or BMX, so I wondered how they fit into various types of riding beyond the obvious. When are you going to do a Norton T-shirt in a white/black?
Either one is great for training off trail. BMX is awesome for balance/core work while the DJ is to keep your jumping skills fresh.
Either are great for balance and core . Depends how you utilise them 🤷🏼♂️
@@OLI-vx1md That's how I use mine. Never placed any limits on what you could do. It's all dependent on your skill level.
Cool.
Personly i choose both!
I have 2 bmxs, one easter traildigger and one kink gap xl, kink fits me better, I also have a giant toughroad slr gravel bike that is my main workhouse commuter. Giant makes really good bikes, I like that dirtjumper you have. Thinking of getting a giant hardtail for trails
I had 2 BMX’s as well!
thanks, great peak into a world i don't live in
I mean the answer is Yes. Always N+1. Although I might have to semi retire from BMX after knee replacement surgery.
Both !!
agreed
Is it worth getting a dirt jumper when I have a bmx already
your Giant's head tube angle steepens @ sag. So its closer to the bmx while you'e actually on it.
My normal bikes are 29" (trail and enduro) I sold my dirt jumper and built a bmx to ride.....the 20" wheel terrifies me and I never ride it. I think I need to ditch it and build another DJ. Although I grew up on bmx, now at 34 yrs old, it scares me 🤷♂️
If you have the budget, you should get a 24" bmx
@@crxxpslvyr7887I think the 22" BMX would be more ideal for the taller rider. The 24" feels more like a cruiser bike.
So I watched a video you put out two years ago the day you picked up a new Sunday discovery and this video is not even however old and you already have a different frame? What’s up with that? Btw I love the wtp, it’s what I ride, not a frame that nice, yet. Cheers
I mean...two completely different style bikes. One cannot replace the other.
Dirt jumper! Its more versatile
Again with the e-bike teaser.
BMX. If you simply look where the seat and bars are they're damn near in the same place, BMX is far more agile
Yeah you can totally get them setup super similar!
I mean ya have one you’ll end up with the other.
Bike riding has so many dimensions that a single spectrum is just a silly representation. By far, the most popular form of BMX at the moment is jibby tech street riding, which is completely neglected by your representation. And people are doing that stuff on dirt jumpers too.
Dirt jumpers are the Rollerblade of the bmx world. Copycat shit on what looks like a little girl's mountain bike. Bmx 100%
I really like my dirt jumper. I like my bmx too
@ianmunro809 has a small wang
High risk low reward bikes are for kids.
growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.
What are you crying about?
Is the dirt jumper good for commuting or is a big bmx cruiser better?
