Nicely done sir very nicely done indeed. The melting of the wax took me back to my days in the military when we would melt the wax before we used it on the floor, then buffed it with a floor buffer, really brings out a shine. New subscriber but I like your craftsmanship and I love watching old item brought back to life. New friend watching from Texas.
At first nice work, the lamp looks beautiful , but with the restoration the history of the lamp, the vintage appearance has completly gone ,especialy from the wooden box. A soft cleaning without removing all of the patina and a clear cover to protect the wood surely would look way better. Let it be seen that this was a WWi Trench Lamp. I hope you did't fix the new battery holder permanently? This will ruin the hole worth of the historic lamp.
The problem with all restorations is the question how far shall I go? Perhaps even the dust on it is worth ceaping it. He decided to make a whole restoration and in my opinion he did a great job!
@@martinshobbykanal2776 There was no critisism on the job, that was exellent work, in my opinion a restoration that keeps the vintag and used look would look far better more original. After the restoration the lamp looks better than new...
Lovely restauration, but the modding - not so much. if you're already going to "modernize" it inside, then why not use one of those small rechargeable batteries? you'd be much more inclined to use something which can be recharged.
Hello to you, Thank you for your comment. For this lamp I didn't really try to modernise it because I even left the original bulb. It's a lamp intended to stay in the window, and I wanted to add a simple way to light it occasionally for demonstration purposes. 🙂
Bonjour, mes parents en ont une mais la lentille est cassé. Je recherche des pièces détachées ou un historique sur l'objet.savez vous quelle est la référence exacte . Super Reno merci d'avance
Very nice 👌👌👌👏👏👏
Beautiful work.
Excellent restoration, especially the wooden container. The only thing that I could have suggested is perhaps nickel-plating the brass components?

Simple yet awesome!!
You did a fantastic job with that lamp. Well done 👍🏻
beautiful
Well done, sir.
Very impressive, indeed!
Beautiful work! I was amazed when you lit the wax on fire...
Your sound is inconsistent. That's my only complaint!
I feel like the brass parts, especially the reflector, would have been nickel plated.
Great job, mate. Music sucks though. Had to sound off. 👍👍👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

totally agree with you on this one
Fab, but why the music? Very distracting
Nice work, hate the music

🤨.... The audio cuts at 9:49? No sound after that ☹️
Yes. Too bad because I liked the music.
Magnifique ! Où avez-vous trouvez dans ma lampe ?
Merci ! J'ai trouvé cette lampe chez un brocanteur avec beaucoup de chance, car elles sont assez difficile à trouver !

This lamp doesn`t tell a story anymore. You better had build a new one and restaurated this lamp more carefully.
