I got an Ecoflow for home backup because it supports pass through charging. This is huge in an emergency situation since if I want to top up with generators or a plug into an ev (my case actually), we don’t want to put the home in dark
Good analysis for the average homeowner - Especially- the local power rebates / county permitting- get it pre approved - in Eq 4 here in BC gets $5k rebate - ecoflow zero as ultima is deemed mobile ( so far ) and is not approved. I would recommend these even w Generac back up because 2 times we have needed Generac in 9 years - failed - even though spend $350 cdn for annual maintenance ( 7.5 kw w no wifi ) - so both give you unlimited and quiet when you need / want it
What state do you live in? Do you have any problems w keeping your ecoflow delta pro ultra in the garage? I’m in Florida and store it inside but would rather have it in our garage. Just hesitant with our humidity.

Huge factors ignored 1. For seamles real home backup with ecoflow you'd need the smart panel 2 which would astronomically raise the costs. 2. Ecoflow customer service is notoriously terrible and is a chinese company vs American based with Texas based support with EG4 3. Ecoflow ultra battery is only rated for 3500 cycles vs 8000 on the EG4 PowerPro, double the warranty and it does come with the battery cables, not sure why missinform that you'd have to buy them. 4. Delta pro is very limited on solar inputs. Speaking from my buddy that went the ecoflow route and regretting it, stupid expensive breakers on smartpanel 2, expensive adapters and proprietary cables, hours on hold to be told to use the email. Just very important factors. With China intentionally killing SolArk inverters recently through software updates, last thing I want is to give a chinese company control over my energy
Good basic overview as others have said. I am currently running a 6000xp with the EG4 indoor 14.3 battery connected to an array of 28 canadian solar 355w panels. The 6000xp is connected to my 10 circuit pro-tran2 transfer switch so that I can select critical loads. In my experience after running about 3MW thru it, the EG4 units have been solid. Its an excellent emergency backup system that is functional as a daily power supplement when there is enough sun. I live in Michigan and NOV-DEC-JAN you get alot of low solar days. With my experience I see the ECO-FLOW as emergency only since it falls way short on the solar input.
Would be great to point out that ECOFLOW Ultra is not a true whole home backup. The SP2 only has 12 breaker slots. My house has 40 breakers. It should properly be called a partial home backup.
Most people only need critical loads and not whole home. People have a hard time realizing that they need to conserve and only use what they need verses living normally. Hence back up power for the most critical items. Totally different if using it for full time off grid
Most people may not need the SHP2. I have 2 Delta Pro Ultras with 4 batteries, each running through a hub and into an inlet using an interlock. Yes, it takes 3 mins to get everything up and going but it's a true whole home back up. I run all 55 breakers, including two 2-ton heat pumps, oven, 2 water heaters, etc for almost 1.5 days no issues. The SPH2 is nice, but it limits the true power of these units.
@@Noneofyourdambusssiness Your doing all that on a system at only supports 30A... without playing the manual what needs to run at this moment game ? The water heaters alone (which on avg use about 18a) would trip this if they ever kicked on together.
"The fans are a little bit louder on the 6000XP".... The fans are like having a full server in your room LOL...
They really need to make them quiet!

Hopefully there is a Smart Home Panel 3 coming soon that will increase the number of circuits. Then I'd be more likely to go with the DPU.
Thanks for the informative video Johnny! Keep up the good work! Happy New Year!
Thank you and you as well..😀👍🏼
Great video, as always. God bless and happy new year
Thank you sr. You as well 👊🏼👍🏼😀
thanks for posting this video
I think I'd just cut the box so I didn't have to lift it so high. Also makes the box easier to recycle.
great video for anyone considering battery back up systems thank and Happy New Year
😀👍🏼
First! to comment! I have the Power kit system, so I just watched cause it's a Jonny's weekends production👍
Thanks 😀👍🏼
Love the ghost buster pack !!!
Right!!!! 😀👍🏼💪🏼
Looks like you're getting an error on the SHP2 and the DPU ;-)
lol for sure ! 😂👍🏼

Not true… it can connect to your entire panel via an interlock kit (the same as you would do with a generator).
