I absolutely LOVE Richie’s drumming with Ramones. Anyone familiar with live recordings during his 5 years know he’s the fastest, tightest drummer they had. It’s actually absurd to hear his closed hi hat through an entire show! His swing gave them such a unique sound!
His new solo albums have been stellar, and the best solo work of any Ramone barring Joey’s masterful Don’t Worry About me album.
I’m so happy he came back. Thank you for the interview Mr. Green.
Maybe…He MIGHT remember a phone conversation I had with him at the first Joey Bday bash he was scheduled for, and had to cancel. George Tabb asked me if I wanted to talk to him since the reason I made the trip from Cleveland was to see Richie’s 1st public appearance in decades (god bless you George) 🤣 It was a nice conversation!
Hey Ho Let’s Go! Congratulations to the both of you on all your continued success. Live To Tell is a FANTASTIC album and I’m already looking forward to the new one.
    Cheers 🍻

Love the Ritchie Ramone era of the band. “Somebody Put Something In My Drink” is probably my favourite Ramones song. Joey’s vocals are killer on that one.

Me too, it sucks how most of the other N.Y douche bags tend to disregard Richie even though Richie helped keep the band together in the years he was with them.

I'm not surprised at all about Johnny being tight as bark on a tree in regards to the financial matters within the band.
Johnny was frugal by nature and would mow ya down when it came to his balance sheet.
Johnny wanted to forget album sales and just keep touring and maximizing their earnings with Merch sales of T-Shirts etc...
Privately Johnny Ramone didn't like Joey Ramone because he was a Jew and a bit too liberal as a proud New York Jew.
Based on how Johnny Ramone didn't want to give any cut to Ritchie Ramone on T shirt sales I think Johnny Ramone was acting more Jewish than poor Joey, RIP and RIP Johnny.

I tried to see the Ramones in the mid-80s, but it was sold out. The venue only held about 800 people. I had to listen through the venue’s side door. I finally got the see them at a different club with a capacity of about 600 in 1991. Unfortunately, Dee Dee wasn’t with the band any longer. It was a great show even though no one could move an inch. The club was on the second floor of a building and there was only one set of stairs to enter and exit for concert goers. The place was a death trap. I saw the Stray Cats at the same venue around the same time.

Richie didn’t seem to be having the best of days and been compared with Marc Bell always seem to struck a chord on him. Hats of for handling it gracefully, Jason.

You've done it again Jason. Great interview. I've never been much of a Ramones fan, beyond having an appreciation for they longevity and what they've done for music as a whole. Five minutes in and I'm undoubtedly going to buy Richie's book. I tell everyone I know about your channel, and it truly boggles my mind that it's not exponentially larger than it is. It'll happen!! Thanks again dude!

Richie seemed to be in a bit of a bad mood at the start, then mellowed. I Fix This is the greatest post Ramones song done by any Ramone. Richies solo albums are solid

I remember there was a video where Joey and Richie Ramone talked about stuff at U68, and when Richie was asked where he got his glasses, he said he got them from a special place in Brooklyn. I think it would have been an interesting question to ask what that place was.
Otherwise, a great interview, but I feel like you should have given Richie more room to brag and tell whole stories, because he seems to enjoy that.

I've actually seen more Punk and Hardcore shows than Metal. I've met and hung out with Tesco Vee of the Meatmen. I met Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedy's on his spoken word tour. I met Jerry Only of the Misfits when they played with Cannibal Corps and Anthrax. I would still really like to meet Keith Morris or all of the Circle Jerks or Henry Rollins or all of Black Flag. Great show, Jason!!

I’ve seen plenty of Richie interviews. Normally not grumpy at all. I think Richie at times was a little annoyed that the interviewer was literally answering his own questions and there wasn’t much for him to add at times. At least that’s what it felt like to me. I think Richie should have been given a little more space to tell his own stories instead of the interviewer doing it.

    Richie “No bullshit” Ramone!
    You’re a pro, Jason!
“That’s a silly question” didn’t even phase ya!
But they’re straight talking as ya know in NY!
Ya should have “waste some time” shirts with iconic sayings over the years:
Johnny Monaco “people are just the worst kind of people” in the back.
And Richie Ramone: “That’s a silly question” 😅
