    See Southland's 139cc front tine tiller in action...also a speed assembly video and some boring opinions I have about it. Model number SFTT140.
    Thanks to Home Depot and Southland for providing a review sample in exchange for my honest, unfiltered feedback.

    I have a front tine also the only bad part is the center. The tines in the center doesn't get all the weeds and the dirt. So you have to move over on your next pass to get what the center didn't get.

    Can you do this in reverse? The tiller seems to toss things to the front anyway so I figured I would ask....

      I haven't maintained a garden the last few years, but I think I remember the wheels getting in the way when I tried pulling it backwards, even when they were folded up.

    I would throw a little gas on that dead grass and burned it off first. The ash is good for the garden and makes it a lot easier to tille up.

    Looks to me like you should have removed the drag bar in order to have the tiller pull its self forward. Seemed to me that the residue was clogging up between the wheels and the bar. Just an observation.

      The drag bar is there to force the tines into the dirt in hard ground. Otherwise the tiller will just roll across the top of the ground and do absolutely nothing!
      You might be able to remove the drag bar if you've already done one pass of tilling, but the the soil would already have to be pretty loose.

    Hi. What are the alternatives to this machine? Same power and price.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  8 лет назад +1

      There are way too many options out there to cover. If you want to comparison shop, I'll bet quite a few online stores will allow you to sort by price, engine displacement, and tine width.

    • @odavid2580
      @odavid2580 8 лет назад

      What are the online stores? I see you realigning the machine as it tills, is this a minor issue?

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  8 лет назад +2

      +o david It takes a bit more muscle to keep on track than other tillers I've used before. Not a huge issue if you're doing a relatively small area, but it can be tiring if you're going for more than an hour or so at a time.

    Do you have to mix the gas and oil!

    My tiller started the first five times and now does not start

      How long since the last time you ran it? Did you remember to prime it? Are you using a fuel stabilizer and/or non-ethanol gas? Mine still starts on the first pull every time eight years later.

    can you tell where's the oil plug to change the oil.

      You have to tip it over to drain

    How do you Change the oil

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  4 года назад

      I haven't run mine enough to warrant an oil change (50 engine hours), but I'd assume if there's no drain plug you just tip it on its side to drain out of the fill location - just like for a push mower.

      @@DoresoomReviews - Manual says to do the first oil change after 5hrs. of run time, 50hrs. after. I just purchased the Powermate version of this tiller at Home Depot, and I agree with everything you say in your review!! I have run mine for a couple of hours, and it already is dark oil, looks like it needs to be changed already. You are correct, tilt and drain out of fill location.

    You’ll get better results if you drag it vs pushing it

    Is it best to use these front tine tillers on damp soil?

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  6 лет назад

      It's best to till when the soil is dry. It's easier on the tiller, and tilling wet soil will end up with your beds more compacted than dry soil will.

    Front tine tillers are GARBAGE by design..... manufacturers that make junk machines don't make the case better either.
