Clough should have patched things up with Taylor before he died but he was too stubborn. All this 'I still miss you badly, mate' stuff that Clough came out with after Taylor's death doesn't wash with me. That's guilt talking. Clough had eight years where he didn't speak to Taylor and that's plenty of time to realise he missed him and to do something about it. But he didn't and Clough suffered for it both emotionally and physically for the rest of his life.
We all have these regrets, buddy. Things we should have said, but didn't. Times when we should have kept our traps shut but didn't. You're right, though. It eat away at Cloughie, unresolved regret and guilt do that to the human soul.
What a great voice..This guy was still commentating when I was a kid watching football in the mid 90's he definitely contributed to me loving football... Won 23 caps for his country. I'm not sure what else this fella wants. Robertsn was the proto-type inside forward, playing the way modern players like Ronaldo do, but 40 years earlier, which makes him precisely 40 years ahead of his time in 1979.
