FYI, all the benchmarks suggest that 14" Max 32-core models are just a tiny bit any faster than the 24-core while having worse battery life. If you want the full power of the 32-core M1 Max, you need the 16" model. Otherwise, 24-core is the sweet spot for the 14" model.
Thank you for being honest. I use my 16” M1 Pro and my M1 Max Studio. I do RUclips videos and my podcast. Also the normal web surfing. Unless your a professional videographer you don’t need more. I’m never gonna shoot and edit a short film or have to edit one lol. For Professional’s I understand why you need more. I appreciate you being honest. A lot of creators make you feel like if you don’t get beat your missing out so to speak. Great video man
Awesome review! Appreciate you keeping it real and honest. Did you get the 14” yet? I’m on the fence between the 14 and 16”. I heard the trackpad is a lot smaller on the 14 and doesn’t have as good thermals. But I also hear the 14” is great for portability!
Kinda wish I saw your review before everyone else. I got caught up in the specs. Your real world use is real to most of us watching. Definitely don’t need M1 Max 16” 32 gig. I will say though when it comes to trades down the road you get more Value for the computer.
That's so dumb thinking from you and basically everyone else who claim the same thing. Sure, you get more resale value from higher specced one cause you literally spent more money yourself buying higher specced one in the first place... If you look at % wise how much you're getting back from your investment, you will actually lose more money from higher spec model than base model % wise on your investment.
Dear, thanks first. Please make a video on how u manage editing on external drives, the 10-20 tb projects. What drives u use, cabels and dongles. it will help. Thanks.
Mine is really laggy even on safari using Lightroom cc is hit or miss Photoshop if pic hasn't been uploaded to the cloud it takes forever to open image i reinstall the os but no luck my m1 Mac mini outperform it 7 out 10 times don't know what to do any help will be appreciated
Thank you! The desk I am using in this video is actually a mobile workbench table from Husky which I purchased at Home Depot. It is about 1 1/2 inches thick (I think) and it is only 40" or so, so theres no bending.
man, please talk about the issue that all new MacBooks have with the speakers. pun your ear to the speaker at one dash volume, there's crackling like hell. all MacBooks have that problem, nobody talking about, Jesus.
The hdmi is mostly for presentations which wouldn't benefit for higher than 60 htz even 4k bluray is only 60htz. If you need 120htz you can probably use a usbc dongle for that
People are making so much excuses after they bought the the 16” MacBook, get real guys can’t believe so much guys crying about the weight and the size compared to the women go to the gym and lift some weight guys your muscles will thank you.
Wow 😮 buying a computer not in good faith, just because you felt like it? To make a RUclips video, then return it , and let Best Buy take the hit. Mmm. I’m not sure about that, perhaps most RUclips reviewers do the same. At least they should charge a restocking fee. Just saying.
If he likes it, he may have kept it. Happens all the time. You can go to the store and pick it up for a discount, so he’s kinda doing you a favor. 😬 Nobody’s perfect. We all do things others would say is questionable. At least it didn’t harm anyone.
These computers are true beasts dude. Loved hearing your thoughts tho. I think im team 16 tho ;)
It’s unreal! I was so sad editing this on my old MacBook Pro 😂 just confirmed that I need to get that upgrade ASAP.
Just wait until the big iMac and the Mac Pro comes.

I'm not into video editing but got a lot out of your review! I have a 14"/32/1TB on order and am living vicariously through reviews until I get it!
That makes me happy to hear man!! I appreciate you checking out the video
do you think the 14 32gb ram is better then the 16 base model
@@rotc7877 Depends on your use case. I'm a developer so want plenty of room for virtuals.

great video Jordan! Always love your stuff :)
That means a lot. Thank you so much!
I'd watch a tabletop review (with nothing on it) from this guy
Hahaha you’re awesome. I appreciate that!
It's true, the mf is good
@@philo441 haha yo thank you!!

@@teemuvesala9575 not really- I trade often
@@ThatKelson yes, really. Resale margin of the base model is better than higher specced models.

I just got my 16 inch yesterday. I love it but I think the blooming is very noticeable on any black screen.
Nice review! Can't wait to get my new MacBook Pro
Thanks man! I appreciate you watching
Just curious, what backpack is that in the intro? Great video!
Thank you! It’s the Alpha 2 Brief Pack from Tumi
Nice video Jordan!
Thanks dude!
great job man
Very great video ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
I got the 16” 1TB base version at Best Buy South Salt Lake for $2299. I suspect 400 bucks was knocked off because an M2Pro version is coming soon.
Nice video. Can you tell me about your desk? I like how thick it is. Mine is bamboo, but too thin and bends.

@@JordanPulmano Ok, thanks. Maybe I can find a large version of that top somewhere.
The base model would be good enough for me but I would want a 1TB SSD
Solid move for sure! 1tb is a great size
Simply Mac is having a sale right NOW. I ordered mine from them.

The 14" is definitely the sweet spot!
It is cute indeed
Damn this makes sense
Just remember, those are Thunderbolt 4 ports so upgrading your external drives will be useful.
Oh yeah absolutely!!

@@JordanPulmano Your video was really helpful and i personally believe macbook is better option if you to do video editing
which oled tv do you have?
LG C1 48” it is KILLER! I’ll have a review on it soon
Should i buy MBP 16 M1 Pro just for making music purposes, or should i buy the M1 Max version?
m1 pro will still be overkill for music, so i for sure would not recommend max if music is all you’re doing.
@@harrisonsmith4512 thanks gonna apply to buy new m1 pro
What bag is that!?!?
The backpack is a Tumi Briefpack Alpha 2! Best backpack if you do a lot of air travel

Lol it ain’t an issue of weight, it’s the size and convenience for travel for me.
512gb not enough if you edit enough you gonna download plugins music etc and it's gonna fill up
Supposed to use external SSD.
