- Setting up two FCB1010 midi controllers in series to control Guitar Rig 5.
One FCB1010 is stock and one has the UNO stomp box chip installed.
Note that the UNO chip model in my video is set up to pass thru the midi signals from the stock FCB1010.
Both FCB's have been programmed with PC based editing software by Ed Dixon. Search for Ed Dixon FCB1010.
The UNO chip model has 5 stomp box pedals set up to send midi notes 120, 121,122,123 and 124.
The Expression pedals on the UNO FCB are set up as CC#27 and CC#7
The expression pedals on the stock FCB1010 are set up as CC#28 and CC#8
I also have a web page with more info on how to program the FCB1010
Note that you have to program the FCB1010's and I have info on how to do that on the page below
www.el34world.com/Misc/Music/S...
A stock FCB1010 can only change presets with the 10 pedals
You cannot turn an effect on and off with a stock FCB preset button
You must have the UNO chip installed to do Stomp box mode.
Stomp box mode turns 5 of the preset pedals into stomp box pedals.
Once you have the UNO chip, you can do all kinds of thing like turn effects on and off
This is a great tutorial thank you for posting it. For anyone asking, I'm using M-Audio UNO USB interface with Guitar Rig Pro 5 on a Macintosh OSX 10.7.3.
I needed to calibrate my expression pedals even though I've had my midi pedal for years. If you find the settings don't go all the way to zero/min or don't go all the way to 100/max then you need to calibrate your expression pedals, instructions can be found online.
This has got to be the most helpful video I have ever seen on RUclips! I have been trying to figure how to control Guitar Rig with my All Access. One minute of your video and I had it. Thank you for this video. Doing it this way blows the pants off of the NI controller.
Finally a clear concise run down of how to set up my external foot controller
This is SUCH a time saver. Thank you so much!
Excellent, glad the video was helpfull
This is a great video. Thank you @El34XYZ. This is an awesome midi controller. Pretty flexible for the price! I will definitely get the UNO chip.
just wanted to thank you for posting this.
I ordered one, bookmarked your website as well. Thanks for help dude. Really appreciate it.
You saved me hours of research! THANKS! I just ordered my chip!
Good deal, glad the video was of some help to you
Hey you're the best. I just wanted to let you know that. The internet sometimes seems huge and vast and sometimes seems hilariously small. Things like this are what make the internet truly amazing. You also have a great website. Thanks for putting in all that effort. :D
+MyGameplaying Thanks, glad the video was helpful
Thank you for taking your time to explain excellent video M8
Hey dude nice video i setup my keyboard to these presets. I would like to know if i can use *any guitar pedal to use as controller* . I have a digitech RP150 connect via usb. I click the "learn" button but when i press the pedal cant be recognised by programm. Is there any way?
Ohhh, I love that MIDI VST stuff.
I just grabbed a used FCB1010 with UNO chip on the german eBay "small ads". BUT I am into VST/software edrumming and I think this will be a very nice toy to play with.
Yeah! Now I suck in all he knowledge of programming that thing. Thank you!
Good luck.
Greets, how can I use 2 fcb1010 with just ONE midi input? I want to use both in my AXE Fx (only 1 midi input). One FCB for preset change and the other for pedal effects. DO I need a USB merger or something? I haven't found anything like this. Thank you in advance.
Look at the description under the video. Follow the link to my web site for more info
@TheOuterVibe
Glad it helped you out
BTW, I have some good info on my web site on the FCB1010, UNO chip, Guitar Rig and other topics. Look at the video description and follow the soundpage1 link
Hi! I have the FCB1010 and Guitar Rig 5. Your video was a great help in assigning presets and component control to various pedals. The one I can't figure out is the Loop Machine RECORD button. I want to be able to lay down guitar loops, one at a time hands free with the FCB1010. Your thoughts?
good morning, I watched you controlling the pedalboard guitar rig program, is it possible to control vsti kontakt 5 through this pedal, is it possible through this pedal switch tones? thanks for the help and I await the answer.
Hi, I don't know anything about Kontakt
Kontakt can take MIDI CC automation and basic keyboard midi, but using this to control Kontakt would be really inefficient, you'd be better off using a regular keyboard controller.
Note: I have not used Guitar rig in many years. I use a Kemper profiling amp now.
I cannot help with Guitar Rig questions.
Go to the Guitar rig forum here for help
www.native-instruments.com/forum/forums/guitar-rig.75/
The stomp box pedals can be set up to toggle off and on.
Look at the video description above. There is a link to my music page.
Look for the link on programming the FCB using Ed Dixon's editor. Copy my setups on those pages or download my .syx file and use it.
This is what I was looking for :D
+MrJlcrack
Good deal. Glad the video was helpful. Check out the web page stuff also. Links in the Video description
Connecting stock FCB1010 via MIDI to USB cable, using Bias fx. I don’t even think the computer is reading the 1010, in the usb tree, it lists that the “mio” cable is plugged in, but nothing about the 1010. Any thoughts?
@beattyml1
A stock FCB can only change presets with the 10 footswitches.
The expression pedals are able to controls knobs, buttons, etc in a stock FCB
The UNO chip only makes 5 of the pedals into stomp box pedals
Hi
1) Yes you need a USB to midi device (like a M-audio Uno) or a soundcard that has midi in and out (Like a M-Audio fast track ultra). Or a firewire card if that's what you use.
2) A stock fcb just has 10 pedals that only switch presets. Only the UNO chip can toggle effects and other things in Guitar rig. The Uno chip turns 5 of the preset pedals into stompbox pedals and you can control several things at once with one pedal.
3) I don't think cable length is an issue with decent cords.
ur the best !
Thanks for the info now I can use my midi keyboard sustain pedal to turn on and off fx in GR. Can't believe I never copped that you could do this before! :) Quick question do you mind letting me know if the Sonnus Wahoo can be configured to use the WAHs and Pitch pedals in GR5? It does have usb and I'm told you can, but just to verify before I pull the trigger.
Thanks again.
+Pauly Mack Hi, I don't know what a Sonnus Wahoo is? Never seen one. The only midi pedals I have ever owned are FCB1010's
Its a digitally controlled analogue wah pedal that has midi too, they actually look pretty amazing. I did a little more research anyway and I'm certain it'll work.
do you by chance have a similar sysex file for amplitube? I would really appreciate.
@hardrockjase
The stock FCB1010 pedals 1 through 10 can only change presets.
You have to buy the FCB1010 UNO chip to convert a FCB1010 to the Stomp box mod.
Once you install the UNO chip, 5 of the pedals are now stomp box pedals.
Stomp box pedals do not change presets, they can send midi notes.
You can then turn things off and on with the 5 stomp box pedals
Do a google search for FCB1010 UNO chip
There are several places that burn custom chips for the FCB1010's
There is a link in the video description to my web site.
The info there may be helpful
Thanks for all the great info. I'm using the Uno. The stomp boxes work fine, but I do not understand how to get the FCB1010 to tell GR to switch patches. I want each song (or song type) to have its own patch, and then each patch will have certain stompboxes, including their on/off state when I switch patches. Some songs may have multiple patches - e.g., "Beautiful Day" by U2 has a bunch of different effects chains...can I do this? This is what happens when a drummer thinks he can play guitar.
what do we do if you hook it all up and pressing learn doesn't do anything.midi connections made to pc but made.
Hey thanks for the Video. What is that Uno chip and where do I get it? Google just showed up firmware for the Uno chip.
Look at the links in the video comments above to go to my web site
@ROCKERSLASH1
Thanks and Good luck
The non stompbox pedals send a midi code for the patch number/program number. Program number 1 switches to patch one in GR. Program 11 switches to patch #11
Check out my FCB link in the description and look at the Ed Dixon editor page on my site
I might have to look into it. Sounds like exactly what's been holding me back.
Just so you know, I never meant to question you...just to let you know that I have a stock FCB1010 and tell you that I get it to turn on and off stomp boxes...but as I said, it is inefficient since you have to double stomp. Even turning on the "Switch" mode doesn't really help, but it does allow you to use 2 pedals as stompboxes. Is the chip hard to install?
Great video. Thank you. I can apply what you taught and try to use my Ground Control Pro with GR5.
I have a question regard GR5, Rig Kontrol 3 (RK3) and "MIDI out" and I hope you can answer.
I want to change patches on my Korg A3 and Korg SDD-2000 rack effects when I click the "next" or "prev" buttons on the RK3. But I am unable to get this to work.
From what I have read I have learned that ...
» The RK3 or GR5 does not send program change message via MIDI OUT.
» The RK3 MIDI OUT port is essentially useless.
That sounds crazy to me. Do you know if this really true?
Thanks,
Chris
Hi Chris. I don't know anything about rig control. I always used FCB1010's to control midi devices. I don't use guitar rig any more since I got my Kemper profiling amp
Okay. Thanks for the reply!
Th UNO chip turns 5 of the pedals into stomp box pedals. The stomp box pedals no longer change presets.
In a stock FCB, the pedals change presets when you step on them.
The easy way to have 5 stomp boxes is to buy an UNO chip
I have a Midisport also hooked up to my two FCB's in series.
Did you go into guitar rig and activate the Midisport as your midi control device?
You have to turn it on in guitar rig.
If that is not the problem, you should download the Ed Dixon FCB editor from the web. It's way easier to program the FCB's with a GUI app than with the FCB pedals.
Do a oogle search for Ed Dixon FCB 10 editor. It's free but only works on Windows. There is another editor out there that works on any platform via JAVA
hello! thanks for the video. all is done really good , BUT when i close the program the controllers are gone and need to be added again. Any clue? thanks
Hi, I've just buy a FCB1010 to manage my guitar Rig 5 software, in stand alone or by VST. But I'can't assignate the pads with commands so nothing work. I saw your video on Two FCB in series but perhaps you could help me. Sorry fo my english I'm not easy in this langage.
I have not used Guitar Rig in many years.
Follow the links in the video description for help
I would go here
www.native-instruments.com/forum/forums/guitar-rig.75/
Do you need the uno chip to use controller with computer. I tried this with amplitude and guitar rig and nothing happens but with vamp it works fine.
Do you need the UNO FW to set up toggle? I don't have the 'ALT' option in the Midi editor next to the CC values. Version 2.99-2
Do i need the uno chip for toggle? I don't have the option alt next to the CC values in the editor.
can u make a tutorial on how you connect that fcb 1010 and audio interface to your guitar? thanks in advance
@RobertCella
I don't know much about the NI hardware
FCB's are only $150 and are rock solid built
Two expression pedals and 100 100 presets by switch banks
@hardrockjase
Yes, I believe that is correct
10 pedals x 10 banks = 100 presets that you can select
Numbers 1 through 100 only as far as I know
@EL34XYZ ok thank you
Hi El, great video!! I have a 2.2 firmware (April 2002) calibrated FCB 1010 and it doesn't learn anything…… it just change presets (even when i'm on "learning mode") and if i use the expression pedals it change them continuatively, having a continuous input…. so I need a UNO chip? It seems… Thanks in advance!!
Yes, you need the UNO chip and that will turn 5 of your foot switches into stomp box switches. The Stomp boxes switches can then turn effects on and off in GR and do other nifty things.
If the expression pedals are working correctly, you should be able to learn those in GR. The 2 expression pedals work the same way with or without the UNO chip. You can turn knobs and sliders with the 2 expression pedals.
Thanks again!
thanks this its a great video i going to try to do i hope i can do it thanks again :u:u
OK thank you
@warchild1976
You need a USB to midi adapter or an external device that has midi in and out on it
The USB device sends the midi signals from the midi device to the computer
One thing though, i can get stomps working with GTR 3 from waves. IT turns stomps on and off. Are you able to turn effects off and on with your stock FCB?
Can this or something roughly equivalent be done with a single FCB1010 without the UnO chip?
I'm reading that these are even better then NI's own Rig Kontrol 3.....your thoughts on this?
And this UNO chip, thing.....is it needed to be able do everything the RK3 can do?
The Ed Dixon editor is what I used, but I'm not sure if I used it right. I got the CC controllers to work in the GR4 standalone, but not in Pro Tools. Also, the pedals only work, not the 1-10 buttons. I'm sure I'm missing something (or a lot).
sorry for the stupid question... but the editing software alone cannot program a stock FCB1010 to work in stomp mode, correct? You must use the editing software AND an uno chip to accomplish this, right? BTW thank you for your website as well as the video!!!
Correct, You must have the UNO chip and the editing software makes it way easier to edit the modified FCB and stock FCB's also
@ashasinov
Hi, When you close guitar rig, it does not remember the controllers?
That's weird, better check with the guys on the Guitar rig forum
I am not sure what the problem would be
Hi! Which sysex file do you use? Please help me, i cant program the fcb1010 since 3weeks... Thanks
Hi there. Whenever I hit pedals, it just changes presets all the time, even with learn on. Is there a certain mode the pedal needs to be in (configuration mode? Direct mode?). Sorry to ask, hope you can help.
I have just received the uno chip but while I'm able to enable stompbox mode I'm not finding the way to enable to notes and the cc for the expression pedal. The manual is not clear at all on programming the uno. Can you help? I've GR5 and I want to use the pedal 1-5 for program change (and this work in stompobox mode) and the upper pedal to turn on/off the wah and similar. So I assume I need a note send for this.
Just follow the link to my web site. Download my .syx file. Use the Ed Dixon Editor to upload it.
EL34XYZ Hi Can you helpI have the Latest 1.0.4 Uno Chip but cant get it to read any of the stomps presets etc in Amplitube 3.5I want to be able to switch between different amp setups Stomps and other effectsaim really struggling to get a gasp of how to configure it.Help please.
Jill Lawson Sorry, I don't know anything about Amplitube. My video is about Guitar Rig
Jill Lawson I am not sure how Amplitude handles MIDI, but the default setup for the FCB1010 only sends PC messages. If it needs CC, you need to either edit the FCB locally (a little bit of a bastard) or download an editor. Just setup up 1 button on the FCB to send one CC and check before getting a patch together. The PC messages are for changing patches, the CC are for operating stuff in a patch.....generally!
Your results may vary.
I seem to be having quite a bit of trouble. It doesn't register my exp pedals and in guitar rig it's 1-10 only switches presets, I can't assign them to parameters. Did this happen to you as well?
I purchased the FCB1010 (2.5.1E- no Uno) to control GR4. I'm connected with the MidiSport Uno USB. I can't get it to communicate with GR4 as a plug in Pro Tools 8. It's like it's not recognizing the FCB at all. I tried to program it using the FCB1010 editor then using the "learn" feature in GR4 with no luck. I have 2 other midi devices that work fine (Roland drums via MidiSport Uno 1 and M-Audio Oxygen via USB). I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
@EL34XYZ .....ah, good to know. I also noticed a guy commenting here mentioning his problems.....so the uno mod is pretty important?
You have to have the UNO chip to be able to learn in GR
That is a stomp box feature
Except for the two expression pedals, they are able to learn commands in a stock FCB
As I have said a number of times in the comments below.
A stock fcb can only change presets with buttons 1 through 10
You have to have a USB to midi interface like a simple M-Audio midisport or a sound card with midi in and out on it
yeah unfortunately ! no save applys! ok thanks anyway! last tip: is there any possibility without any specific programming to fcb to connect 2 fcbs(maybe by "midi through" ) so to take different "notes" when pressing whatever key? thanks!
Will this work with fl studio adn other Daw plugin on and off. I need a midi foot controller to switch on and off other plugins in my DAW, including mic vocal fx and waves gtr3
+Moderate America Hi, I don't know anything about fl studio.
+Name The wah pedal is not a wah pedal. It is an expression pedal that runs on the FCB1010 only.
***** The wah pedal would have to have a switch like a real wah does and then you could click the switch and turn on the wah. But does not have a switch like a real wah does. It is only an expression pedal.
No problem, I was just throwing out info. see ya
So I thought I got this to work because I've mapped all the cc to guitar rig and selected presets but for some reason it does not change the effects at all ! I don't have the uno chip but I thought that stock could change from preset to preset . I have my 1-10 mapped cc 22-31
+Lana Eucalyptus Marie You don't have to do anything to make a FCB1010 change presets. It sends the proper midi commands. Follow the link in my description for more setups on my web site
@HolyoakeD
Hi,
Yes, you can record the output of Guitar Rig
I use guitar rig as a stand alone program
I record the output of Guitar rig into Mixcraft 5 (and now Mixcraft 6)
I don't record dry and then use GR in Mixcraft as a VST
Most of my recordings have more than 10 guitar tracks
It's difficult to have 10 tracks all with GR as a VST on each track
I prefer to record Guiatr Rig just as if I was playing in a studio live or playing live.
What you hear is what you get.
Hello friend. Can i save guitar rig presets inside this pedalboard? and then use them in my amp?
HI I HAVE A QUESTION BEFORE Y CLICK ON LEARN and i press any key and it changed but now a try to do the same thing and still none why dont change why or maybe i change something by accident cant u help me with this
@EL34XYZ I'm having a problem with my FCB1010 where it wont turn off an effect. Take Cry Wah for example. I've added a new controller and clicked learn. It picks up the controller and i assign it to Cry Wah. On/Off. I hit the stomp on my foot controller, it turns Cry Wah on. If i hit it again - Nothing. Can you help at all? For some reason, if i assign the expression pedal to the on/off switch, it does switch it off and on like it should.
@ashasinov
Yes, you can, but you can't do anything until you learn to program them
Do a search for the Ed Dixon FCB1010 editor
That's what I use to program my FCB's
Hi, I've got the FCB1010 w UnO and Guitar Rig 5. I have what I hope is a simple question that I am actually embarrassed to ask. I watched the video and several others, read both the FCB manual, Guitar Rig manual and some of the Editor manual but I am just not getting one thing. What is the step by step process to link a GR5 preset to a FCB Switch?
Brian Cohen You have to have a Device that is installed in your computer that sends and receives midi commands. Like the M-Audio Uno or a sound card that has midi in and out. Make sure you look at the link in my description for more information on my web site
EL34XYZ M-Audio Uno link if RUclips does not delete it.
www.m-audio.com/products/view/uno#.VXDyL89VhBc
I only really want to select presets but my switches just pick the first 100 presets and not my user presets (which are in the 400's). I select by dual rec (my user prset numberd 479), hit learn and hit the pedal but it just reverts back to the first factory preset. Am I configuring my Behringer incorrectly. Sorry to be a pain.
I've been reading all the comments here trying to troubleshoot. I have a stock FCB1010, and of course by default it's only selecting random presets in Guitar Rig 5.
In GR5, I add a controller and click Learn, but GR5 doesn't recognize any commands from my FCB1010 except the expression pedals. I only want to assign an FCB1010 preset button to a specific GR5 preset, no stompbox or modifications to it. Is this possible or not? I set up the controller to trigger a particular preset, but again, it doesn't see input from the FCB1010 and then it starts selecting other random presets. I also tried your .syx file which didn't seem to do anything. Also, would the UNO chip remedy why GR5 doesn't see any input from my FCB1010? Thanks.
Sorry, I do not know. It has a been a couple years since I used GR. The link in my video description takes you to my web site. Links there can take you to the GR forum and the FCB yahoo groups
Thanks for the reply. I'd been to your website but because of the issue I'm having it didn't really apply to me--if GR5 was seeing my button presses I'd be set. I'm using it with OS X, perhaps I'll try Windows to test further. I've read tons of various forum posts, nothing has helped me, so I think I may just have to return it.
@warchild1976
You only need a midi out from the fcb to a midi in on your interface
If you want to program the FCB with computer software, you will need to hook up a midi in to the fcb
I don't understand your question?
The FCB1010 will switch presets on any application that can be controlled by midi commands
The UNo chip only makes the FCB into a 5 pedal stomp box and 5 presets
Keys and switches can only turn things on and off
You need an expression pedal.
The fcb1010 has two of them
If you're using the Behringer controller with guitar rig don't you have to hook up the controller to the computer? Does the Behringer have a USB hook up? It's hard to find the NI guitar rig kontrol 3 so I'm trying to find another way or brand of controller to hook up to the computer so I can at least switch between a distorted and clean tone.
+mxkied72 You have to hook up the FCB's to a sound card or some other midi device. Follow the link in the description for more info on hooks ups
+EL34XYZ I have the guitar rig session i/o will that work?
+mxkied72 . I don't know anything about that device
+EL34XYZ You should go to the Guitar Rig forum here and ask
www.native-instruments.com/forum/forums/guitar-rig.75/
Hi, I can get the expression pedals working right away with Guitar Rig's MIDI Learn. But the footswitches aren't working ok. Do I need to get the Uno chip? if so where's the best place to buy? Thanks so much in advance!
Look at the links in the video description and follow the links to my web site
I did... it's just a bit confusing at times, I am not sure if in the video you're doing the Midi Learn/Controller setup on the stock or UNO chip FCB. I opened up my fcb and it's chip is V 2.5. The model # shows same as your screenshots FCB1010/04
.
ok i see your note about having the Uno chip.
Will this one work? www.amazon.com/FCB1010-UNO-1-04-Eprom-Upgrade/dp/B018MUYRYY
You only need the UNO chip for stomp box mode. Otherwise, all 10 pedals can only select presets
went u add a new controller if u see ur video at 0.56 u are doing click on learn and none its changing i cant see clear but i thing its changing at key 120 on so im doing the same way but went i click learn nothing change still none what do i have to do??? i hope u can understand what am talking abut
You have to have the UNO chip to be able to do stomp boxes
Also, in the video above, look for the comment about disable/enable
I have set a pedal to drive the wah wha effect. it works, but it goes directly from down position to up position, like a switch on-off button..Can you tell me why?
Sorry, I don't know. I have not used guitar rig for a couple years. I use a Kemper profiling amp now
Just solved...it was enough to calibrate the pedals...thanks anyway for your reply...!!!
@warchild1976
You need a midi interface, not a midi controller
The FCB is a midi controller as are most MIDI keyboards
Do a search for M-audio UNO if you want to see a simple one
I have a UNO and a M-Audio external sound card.
Both of those devices can send MIDI signals to the computer
@samboskull
I believe that a preset button can only be a preset button.
Guitar rig would switch presets and not be a programmable switch
I suppose the UNO chips would not exist if there was no need for them
@RobertCella
The UNO chip lets you make 5 of the pedals stomp box type switches
5 of the pedlals are no longer preset selection pedals
Stomp box pedals let you do all kinds of cool things inside the presets on guitar rig.
You can turn pedals or switches on or off and tons of other thngs.
Go to this web site to read more on what the UNO chip can do
Type in Uno chip in google and go to the Ossandust web site
You cannot turn effects off and on with a stock FCB.
A stock FCB can only change presets with buttons 1-10
The expression pedals can move buttons and sliders, but not the 1-10 buttons
A FCB with the uno chip turns 5 of the buttons into stomp boxes
Stomp boxes can turn knobs and thing on and off
I think this is pretty clear if you read my web site and some of the comments I have answered here on this video
Thank you for the video. When I press 1-to-10 buttons on my FCB1010 it only changes presets. I can't set it to turn on or turn off an effect on GR5, for example. It doesn't "learn". Do you know how I can fix this? Thanks!
+Alex Duarte Did you read the video description above. Also, follow the link to my web site
+EL34XYZ Honestly, I haven't. I've been trying to set it up for quite some time and forgot to go through it. Thank you. It's a lot to learn as I could see.
+Alex Duarte One thing you will see in my info and many questions answered below is that you have to have the UNO chip installed in your FCB to get stompbox mode. Other wise the pedals only will switch presets and yours does now
+EL34XYZ Yeah, I'm gonna have to order it. Or maybe try to find someone who could burn it into my chip, which I think would be more risky. Thank you again for the video, the website and the replies.
+Alex Duarte The code is available for free. All you need is a new chip and a burner. Go to my web site link to see the link to the guy that sells the chips. he has a download link for the code there
then how do you connect that?
hi dude. Help me please, I can't install the program buttons 1 through 10 in the controller. Although the C 27 and C7 shall designate the program normally. What's the problem?
I must use the Behringer Midi Utility? Could not you have show me your setings in screenshot?
I recently got a single stock FCB1010 to use with guitar rig. The footswitches work fine for changing the patches in Guitar Rig 5, but when I actually try to get GR to learn the footswitches (or expression pedals), nothing happens. Any ideas?
The 1 to 10 footswitches can only change presets on a stock FCB1010. I have mentioned that several times in the comments section below. The expression pedals need to be calibrated before they can be used. The FCB1010 manual should have instructions on how to do that.
EL34XYZ So the footswitches are useless for anything but changing presets in Guitar Rig? Is there any way around that?
John Xoán They can only be used to switch between presets in Guitar Rig unless you buy and install the UnoChip. Look up FCB1010 UnoChip on eBay. It's like $10 and you can then use the footswitches to turn on and off reverb, distortion, whatever. You can assign them to any part of the program for on off.
Mitch Blank thanks, that seem to fix things. Gonna look that up.
@SzilvSztR
I create my own .syx files by programming my FCB's
Once you have programmed them the way you want, you can dump the .syx file and save it.
I use Ed Dixon's editor to program my FCB's
Do a google search for Ed Dixon and FCB1010
I have the uno 1.0.4 and can't seem to get any of the editing software to work.. GR reconizes the expression predals and the other pedals just change presets randomly now. I can't seem to figure out how to program the midi notes manually either.. pretty frustrating lol.. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi John,
Follow the link in the video description of my web site
*****
Thanks for the reply, Doug. I've followed all of the information posted on that site. I can't seem to find anything specific to my situation. Everyone relies on the software to program their uno chip equipped FCB1010, however in my case both Ed Dixon's Midi editor and several others I have tried crash on me. I don't know if this is because I have a newer 1.0.4 chip or what the case is. I can't seem to find any information on how to program the keys to send midi notes manually. If I am missing something please point it out. Thank you in advance.
John Fernandez
Doug, please disregard. I was able to use a different computer to load the software and your example .syx file. Thank you for documenting this so thoroughly. An FYI for others, the FCB1010 Midi editor software version 2.99-7 does not read UnO FW 1.0.4, reads it as "Behringer Unknown Version" but if you load up the .syx up, it transmits just fine. Thanks again.
John Fernandez Glad you got it working John. And thanks for adding notes that may help others
Hi,
When you first get a FCB, you have to calibrate the pedals.
That may be it.
If not, I don't know why the pedals don't register
You could try and program them like I have my stock FCB
The link in my description will lead to my fcb page
Thanks for the video. Do you need the uno chip to program stomp boxes?
+Off Wires Yes
+EL34XYZ thanks. is there a way i can control everything with one fcb 1010?
+Off Wires
No you can't control everything with one FCb1010.
There are 100's of effects in Guitar Rig and only so many pedals on a FCB1010
+EL34XYZ okay so you only choose the controls you need?
+Off Wires
Yes of course :)
Hi thanks for the Video!
Say, is it possible to learn the buttons on the fcb 1010 without the unochip, like the one with it? I have the "midi buddy 128 pedal" and i cant learn the presets, I have type the number of the channel on the pedalboard in order to switch.
Hi, Learning buttons in guitar rig has nothing to do with the UNO chip. The UNO chip only creates 5 stomp box pedals on the FCB. See my page of info. Link in the description

Thanks helped me a lot!
Just that I still can't get the programm learn the board.
I maybe will purchse the fcb
In Vision have you set the same port for midi out as midi in so guitar rig listens to that specific midi port? At least using a DAW you will have to do that :-)
Hi! Yes I've tried everything possible, just didn't work with my Rolls MP128 Midibuddy pedal, so I bought another one, the MFC 10 from yamaha. With the same settings it worked out of the box.
Only thing I found out for myself, when some pedals switch the presets, but the learn function doesn't work, you can create a new group of presets and in every new created group the presets will be numbered from 0,1,2... so you just have to put the presets you want in the right order.
Hope you understand what I mean, maybe it can help somebody.
No, the buttons on a stock FCB are for changing presets. They are not stomp box pedals. You need the UNO chip to be able to make 5 of the pedals become stomp box pedals
HI. HOW CAN I CONFIG A STEALTHPEDAL IN GUITAR RIG. THANKS.
