It finally worked. Thank you so much. I was wondering how to use the assign the exp pedals? To say the cay wah for instance. I assign it to 8 and 9 but it gos to the 8 a d 9 presets. The pedals dont go from 00 to 127 the just stay at 00.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for this! Saved me a lot of time. Still took me moment to get my head around but saved me hours I'm sure. It would really be great if there was some consistent mapping to macros in guitar rig 6, like 11 / 12 are always expression, hope this improves in v7. I noticed that when I switch to button mode and there's say 3 gain modes on an amp it can only select two modes e.g. 1 and 3. Do you know of a way to resolve this? I think it's because only an on/off midi cc message is sent. Thanks
Would the basic gist of this work with Logic Pro? I have Guitar Rig 7, and I found your video on setting up GR6 as a standalone program, so that will be helpful. Basically I'm trying to use the stock FCB 1010 with Guitar Rig 7 as a Logic Pro plugin (current version of Logic).
Hello @jimmywellington, thank you for reaching out to us with your question. Unfortunately we do not have Macs in our studio so we are unable to assist you. We will however reach out to a few of our associates that use Macs and hopefully they will have a solution that we can pass on to you.

Awesome. I'm going to try tomorrow, and I'll let you know if I can get it working. I am able to download the editor you use, so I don't see why the same basic steps you use with the PC version won't work. @@guitarschoollive
I was able to get it working with Guitar Rig 7 standalone, like how you showed here. But I've been trying to get it working with the Guitar Rig 7 plugin in Logic Pro, and no luck so far. @@guitarschoollive
I'm trying to set up my FCB1010 to my Fantom workstation FA 76 to operate the Phrase patterns with one touch of thee pad. The phrase patterns work fine with one touch from the keys but with using the FCB1010 the pattern only play when I hold the pad down that I assigned to the phrase. Have I set up my FCB1010 wrong for doing this task on my workstation ? thanks frm Rod
Hello Rod, thanks for reaching out to us. Correct me if I’m wrong but it sounds like you’re sending CNT messages when you should send Note messages.
The following video will instruct you on how to setup note messages. Keep in mind that you must disable PC and CNT messages for whatever pedal you program the note messages to (you can keep the Expression pedals).

@@guitarschoollive How do you disable the CNT and Value in just those pads ?
@@guitarschoollive It didn't work ,not even holding down pads.
Follow this short video to disable messages:

@@guitarschoollive Thanks you so much. I finally chose the correct octave for my notes and the FA-76 responds perfectly. Thanks again to the FCB1010 Guru.
This guide misses an aweful lot of granular detail, such as you need to unplug your Midi cable during the reset / hold the down button.
Furthermore, it doesn't stipulate what to do if the MIDI send / receive are greyed out.
Hello @rodrrico, thank you for input. At 03:46 of the video a card pops up titled ‘Activate the green button’. Perhaps you missed it. Also, there is no need to disconnect the midi cables when performing these actions. You can’t transmit the data if you do.
If you haven’t found a solution to the green button issue see the short video below:

Thanks for reaching out @@guitarschoollive I was able to get the send / receive to work by yet again fully factory resetting the FCB1010 and going through the tutorial again. However after watching this more than 20 times (and the other video where you walk through guitar rig 6), I am still unable to get beyond the step where the FCB1010 needs to learn each function (presets up.down, macros etc). I have no idea why this is so incredibly complicated.
How can I find out what version of FCB1010 I have? I don't want to unscrew any panels in case I return it.
Hello @rodrrico , what are you using as a midi interface? If you’re using a USB to Midi cable the only cable known to send the large data packets required by the FCB1010 consistently is the Roland UM-ONE mk2 USB MIDI Interface. The cheaper cables commonly found on Amazon and the like will not work. Let us know your setup if you are not using a USB to Midi cable
Guitar School Live
I am using the Roland UM-ONE mk2. I bought it for another midi device which works perfectly, so I can confirm the Roland Midi usb device works. Latest firmware too.
I've also tried the demo paid FCBUno software which is not showing what firmware the FCB1010 is currently using. I wonder if there is an underlying problem?@@guitarschoollive
All that work nothing...... I just going to return the Fbc1010 . I've wasted 4 month of my free time . Literally why doesn't it come programmed. Worst product ever.
Before you give up let me know whether you have the stock chip or an aftermarket chip such as Uno or Eureka. All of our videos are made for the stock chip but I can still help if you have the Uno.
Guitar School Live
@@guitarschoollive I had the eprom 3 but I returned it . I ordered a stock 2.5 chip that's what I'm using now. When I press 7 to receive data nothing happens you say wait for the countdown and the green light goes out. There's never a countdown then nothing happens.
@@rodgerwebb1 I had a similar issue and realised I wasn't quite awake and making a connection error it doesn't mention in the video. I didn't have the midi connections correct i.e. when sending sysex messages you need midi out from your computer to midi in on the FCB1010, when sending messages to map in ableton/guitar right, midi in on the computer, midi out on the FCB1010. I know this is how it works but I still somehow managed to forget for a minute as I was only using one cable, not the two that I usually have for my synth.
