Yes holding for 5-7 sec at each area allows DA polisher to perform better with all the compounds, the holding pattern doesn't change with E1500 or S3 Gold or S2 Black. Happy Detailing.
No need to spray water with all new generation detailing compounds like Scholl concepts S# and E1500 or even Menzerna HCC400 or Meguiars 105. Most of the new gen detailing compounds are water based and dusts very little, so no need to spray water. To keep panel cools use 5" or max 6" foam pads and at low rpm.

If good quality micro abrasive compound used by DA polisher with foam pad then around 5 micron, if very strong or coarse compound used with old style wool pad on high rpm rotary polisher then around 20-30 microns, but all depends on technician's skills also.

Ideally in both the direction, but if defects are lighter then even in one direction can give good results.

Matt colors can not be polished, was with APC or degreaser, do not use wax based or gloss shampoo's.
Sir can you please tell how to remove compounding wax from black plastic trim as it made all plastic look white. Please sir suggest something
