I just brought mine home last night. The heft, the classic feel and lines - oh!
Smith and Wesson revolvers are simply sublime.
My semi-autos are, to me, like jackstands. Function, but no beauty.
Prove me wrong: there is no semi-auto that is more reliable than a broken-in, proven Smith and Wesson revolver, starting with the obvious Model 10, but the 629 and many, many more Smith and Wesson wheel guns.
How’s the recoil? I’ve shot a 629 classic in a 6 inch and it was great! I’m just worried about shooting 44 in a 3 inch. The 3 inch is so beautiful and I want it though!!
Some people think Picasso made good art. They just never held a Smith & Wesson before!
Ha! I like that!
Just came on Cali list so I bought one
.great video.
I was watching the John Wayne marathon, Christmas day, 2017; and I learned where the name, "BATJAC" came from. VERY COOL!
Awesome!!!
That 629 is a very nice firearm. In my opinion, it's 'THE' gun.
Beautiful gun. I'm saving for 1 now
You will like it !!
I swear, the old school SW .44/.357's are works of art. Absolutely LOVE this revolver and am dying to be able to justify spending that money. Lol. .44 Mag is something I'd take the time to learn to reload.
Great looking, powerful revolver! Thanks for for posting, especially for those of us in California who are not allowed to have this model. At least we still have the right to watch the video.
Keep em coming!
+Poit357 Thanks for watching.

This model is on the Cali DoJ list the skull # is 150715 or the 629 44 comet magnum that # is 10064 check it out.
For now...youre still allowed to watch this video...for now...
I happened into a pair of 4” nickel plated model 29-2’s. I’m a huge snubby fan so that 3” peaks my interest pretty good. Ha!
Just bought one for my S&W collection today. Had a 4" 629 years ago,
Congrats!
Where'd you get the talo version from?
Can you carry during the winter.
Well done. Have same but 629-1 square butt. Never a problem with full load. The answer to the 44 mag question remains the same, "because having to shoot somebody twice is just silly".
Gary Williams thanks Gary
Not sure if your a reloader but go MINIUM LOAD 44 MAGNUM 300 GRAIN HORNADY HOLLOW POINT XTP (extrene terminal performance) You have Ultimate in Knock Down Power yet perfect for self defence as Recoil similar to cowboy load 44 Special. Or go 44 special soft lead 240 grain and marginal recoil dead accurate rapid expansion gets the job done. Both loads from 750 to 925 ft per second FROM SNUB NOSE large bullets for maxium foot pound energy and not penetrating excessively.SOMETHING TO PONDER A WEE BIT...VERY COMFORTABLE TO SHOOT (ABSOLUTELY LETHAL.)😳
Valentine'srevolver,,lol. Kinda like the Smith Mountain gun. Nice finish on it. My blue 29 is a square butt 4". Something neat about thumbing big cartridges into the cylinder. Like a Smith 25 in long colt I had. Thanks for the vid. Stay well.
.45 Colt. There is no such thing as .45 LONG Colt. That is an incorrect term, no matter how often it is used.
This will be my next carry gun
I've got the previous generation, 629-5. It's got some minor variations. It is a pre-lock for one. It has a full under lug. And either S&W or the distributer had it magna-ported. It's on the box labeling. By some miracle, I was able to keep all my original paperwork, box, etc without losing it during moves.

Yuuuup it's beautiful bro.
Nice looking Revolver.
thanks bro
Yes sir.
So I guess my Q is the 4 inch really not Barrel length . Nice gun , nice video thanks
Can you do fav 357 3 inch and fav 44 mag 3-4inch
Nice. Never saw a stainless polished so much it looks almost like a nickel plate. Actually,a revolver barrel is measured from the face of the cylinder,so this pistol is one inch shorter than the old school four inch models. Not to high jack the subject, but back in the 70's I had a 2 inch Model 10,square butt like yours. Finally settled on Jay Scott white pearl grips, which are much thinner, especially on the bottom, and a grip adapter. Damn, wish I still had that now.
Citizen Rico oh yes that one sounds nice. I got some pearl grips for a model 36 that looks real slick.
thanks for watching
+Citizen Rico
if it aint a mirror, someone picked the cheaper finish
Pretty gun
my favorite edc
Thanks for watching.
I agree wood grips on revolvers seem a better fit visually
Thanks buddy.
It's a movie thing ;)
Great gun got the 629 pc in 2 5/8 i looked at this one too but they gun store gave me the pc for the same price as the deluxe
Late to the party, but if you're still around, good solid vid. Thanks!
Hey, thanks!
Just got the
same exact gun today used came with 2 speed loaders and rubber grips and the original grips its barely shot for $850
I went in to get a 3" python I guess I'll get the python next year
good review...think you were looking for the word "groove" around 6:11
I have a 3” 629 Performance Center Carry Comp Lew Horton, a 3” 629 Deluxe and a 4” 69 Combat Magnum. If you EVER get a chance to pick up an S&W 44, do not pass it up!
Beautiful 629, ... I'm curious .... what makes it a talo edition?
My ❤ just skipped a beat😍😍🔫😍😍
Nice display of 44's!!! :)))))) You brought up a good point about the MIM parts, can we get replacement parts to upgrade out of MIM stuff? Thanks for the video.
Ole Ironhead thanks for watching. there are upgrade parts for some I seen them at brownell's
+Ole Ironhead there is not a damn thing wrong with mim parts, ruger has been using them along with investment cast frames for eons, and everybody touts them as some of the strongest guns made, and with stellar reputations as lasting forever, then a few horses asses that are Smith and Wesson purists start a roumor about mim parts in them, because they just don't care for it for the most part because it detracts a bit from that hand built care idea, not in reality but in idea mind you, and now it is junk, fine I wouldn't mind if they went back to all bilit hand machined parts, but then I won't shed a single tear about paying $300 or more for the same gun with mim parts, but the same guys that bitch about the mim parts would, gotta freakin laugh at the dip shits out there, mim parts are used in tons of different guns out there now, along with tons of polymere (weaker in many ways than most any metal i don't care what they try and say about it) even used as the main frames, and that seems fine with guys, whatever ever dip shits whatever. oh and by the way the logo is lazer etching, and I wish they would use that everywhere instead of roll stamping like the barrel stuff is done, because to roll stamp like that requires a bunch of pressure, that leads to pressure stress/distortion points at a cellular level within the barrel that can in extreem cases be the area of failure and or detract from accuracy, that is why the finest hand made custom guns ( like a matching pair of $12,000 custom made mauser 98 bolt actions or the $125,000 Holland and Holland 470 nitro double rifle i own) have very minimal of that crap on the barrel or anywhere on them for that matter.
It wouldn't be an upgrade! He said if you listen, the m im is better.
Que revolvazo.
Contrary to the host, I always thought that most vintage factory S&W wood grips look like cheesy garbage. The Talo grips appear much higher quality, however they are made.
If I had a choice, I would definitely NOT have a Hillary Hole!
Nice gun,but its an L frame.I have the Talo with the smooth cylinder and 7 shots.Does you'res have a 7 rd cylinder?
Stephen Cellucci no its a 6 shot 44 magnum
BATJAC J.W I'm sorry,I was half asleep.I thought it was a S&W model 686 .357.I realized that after I posted my comment. That "Talo" model in .357 &.44 look very similar. Its a beautiful gun,I had a model 29 in nickel stolen. How much does that gun go for?
lol no worries, shame about your 29 nickel.
this one i got from gun broker i think 750 or so brand new and the retail on it is like 1300
Does anyone know where I can get a L/H holster for a model 629 deluxe with a 3" barrel?
ruclips.net/video/8-jw5mQUGfA/видео.html
Got mine at 1791 holster co
A store.
Is that a Talo or just a Deluxe edition ?
still called a Deluxe but Talo edition
Can I possible buy this great beautiful revolver...?

Thanks. I bring it out to play a lot. LOL
Nice firearm...
+Steven Penny thank you
Your ads that pop up on the screen are really irratating. That being said nice review and beautiful gun.
Must have missed this one. Been removing those thanks for the heads up.
St. Valentine's Day Six Gun
yep
Harry callahan carried the 8"3/8" Barrel
According to the Internet Movie Firearms database, they used a 6 1/2" and an 8 3/8" model 29 in at least the first movie. When you see Harry holstering it into his Bucheimer-Clark shoulder holster you can tell it is a 6 1/2 inch, other times when they are filming from where Harry is pointing it at the camera, it is the longer one. www.imfdb.org/wiki/Dirty_Harry
I want that revolver to buy bro
She so beautiful
Como cuanto sera el costo de esta chulada de arma
The barrel is measured from the face of the cylinder.

44 Russian would be really nice out of it.
Thanks for watching.
how does 44 russian compare with 44 special?
Heard they are the same.
thanks, I will check it out.
@@BATJACJW similar nit the same. 44 spl actually has a little more power. The 44 russian was actually a black powder round.
How's the recoil brother? Compared to 357 Mag? ❤️🇺🇸
Really? It is a .44 Mag.
