Wow! Awesome to see a car from a local agency getting recognition! :) I've seen Portland's car on this channel as well :)
Thanks for watching :)
love the ghost graphics
Vinyl's so much fun now :)
Awesome job on the charger guys. Car looks pretty good running around here in Yamhill.
Thanks Jake :)
What dexterity! Real pros! Great ...!
Awesome car
It's one of our new favorites :)
Sweet
Why did they only put in a spot light to the right? Is it because of the a pillar spotlight on the left?
Exactly.
Interesting how Yamhill went all blue. All of their other units are red/blue. Wonder why the change.
The only problem with the duel color set up is almost every company sets flash patterns way to fast. There isn’t enough color separation, in this car all one sees is a pulsating blur of not quite blue not quite white.
What bracket do you use to mount the feniex cannons on? Is that custom with star cars or can I buy them on sirennet?
The bracket that's used along with the Cannon bezels is available via this direct link. Keep in mind that'll you'll need to drill a few new holes. Thanks for watching :) sirennet.com/store/product/tir3-lin3-linz6-gl3-license-plate-bracket
What wiring goes where with the whelen ring flasher to the tail lights? Does the light panel in the trunk serve as one output and the other parts around each brake light serve as 2 other outputs from its control module? Instruction pdf from whelen I found isn't that detailed. Thanks
It's a bit of work to get the ULF44 to work this way on the Chargers. Star Cars keeps the process a trade secret.
@@SIRENNET Thank you
I noticed this vehicles sapphire system had the “tail cut” option for temporarily disabling the rear taillights. How would this be wired up in a Crown Victoria equipped with a Whelen Carbide?
The "tail cut" is a pursuit mode kill-switch. Star Cars wired up & programmed the Sapphire so that when this is on, the rear warning lights, with the exception of the brake lights alternating, is disengaged so PD vehicles following don't have to worry about obstructed visibility.
SIRENNET ah I see.. thank you for the info
+SIRENNET that is a great idea. I've been in the situation of following another unit to a call and the rear lights can be blinding.
What about the left alley?
The Unity spot light takes care of that aspect :)
I've seen a bunch of your videos and I'm curious why some of the LE vehicles you build in OR have red and blue lights and some have just blue. I'm guessing it's just whatever the department wants. I definitely think that red/blue looks better and is more attention getting.
Correct you are; it's based on the departments coloring preference. Oregon lighting regulations don't specific a standard design. There's a lot of different mixes here :)
Rear facing white lights in Oregon? Hmm... Not too sure about that!
It's for scene lighting, not pursuit.
Is that a push-button on the trunk hood? I assume for just the rear scene lighting?
Exactly :)
SIRENNET Sweet, awesome build. Thanks for the reply.
@@JayPattersonTVGlad too help.
Why not an LED spotlight?
It might be getting one shortly.
SIRENNET ah I was going to say it’s such a great looking car, the led spotlight would complete its look
Can't afford left alley light?
It wasn't necessary with the driver side having the Unity spot light.
Likely a single-man car. Can't use a passenger spot.
Not a fan at all of the blinding white to the rear.
I bet that is only in Position 3. Position 2 probably has a siren and white light cut.
bprice1892 agree
Correct you are.
why do cop cars near me look boring but these ones look sick
Thanks for watching😄🚔
Why on Earth would they spec all that white to the rear?
In steady-burn it works amazing for rear scene illumination.
SIRENNET That it does. I did like the covert button for the rear scene.
Why not just have it flashing blue though in warning mode and have it on a separate switch to have it light up in flood mode? That flashing white is just dangerous to the rear..
With the easy of pattern changes, that can be adjusted in the future:) Position 1 & 2 keep it Blue. 3 adds in the white.
There is no standard like NFPA. If this is like the other Yamhill build, I think it has a rear cut feature for pursuits, which can help too. I think Blue/Amber would be ideal, but there's also working within bid specifications and what the department asks for, too.
To much white
Sigh again with the fast flash patterns
Agreed - rapid flashing and a lot of white makes it hard to actually see the blue. I strongly dislike all the white to the rear even if it is only in mode 3. I highly doubt an officer will remember to shut off mode 3 once they're parked and it will be blinding traffic coming up behind them...
