If I had the money, an abandoned mining town is ideal to rehabitate. Buy it for almost nothing, scavenge materials for a new home, no neighbors, no taxes. As long as it has good water, it's perfect for homesteading. With solar and wind power, it becomes home.
Awesome video! Been to the PA abandoned turnpike. Gotta say, the creepiest part is how quiet it can get. Which makes meeting others on it surreal. I would definitely go again.
Abandoned or available?! Wouldn't it be great if places could be remodeled or renovated and reused? I know that's oversimplifying things (way oversimplifying) but there are old mansions out there that could be bought and made new. I love old houses from the late 19th century, or even before! Except for Pripyat, no not there. I guess.
I use to go to the children's zoo I'm Belle Isle. Even after it was renovated, it was sad. Not a good place for the animals. You could ride an elephant. But even as a small child I could see the elephant was not happy.
The caretaker at Cerro Gordo is crazy paranoid. I offered to map the town and Brent was up for it, but he didn’t tell anyone I was coming. The caretaker came flying out with a gun yelling at me to bring the drone down or he’d shoot it down. Never going there again.
That was a great video. The old mining town is interesting. I gave seen some of the explorations there .It eoukd be a curious place to visit.I like the dinosaurs too.
Hey Kat, Brent Underwood has an amazing youtube channel called ghost town living, he going into detail on his adventures at Cerro Gordo and its history 100% worth watching
hi, Katrina! i would definitely live in a ghost town. very few neighbors, very little traffic and no cops, mayor, or other city officials. sure, could be a bit hard but, we've got it way too easy now. a little work is good for you, mind, body and soul. and, perhaps, the best night's sleep you ever had! see ya later, Kat! Bye!
Seeing that T-rex in the place like that surrounded by vegetation that could actually be fun. I know vegetation of Mesozoic era was nothing like the modern one but it would still be kind of interesting. Chernobyl disaster actually happened only about thousand miles from the place I used to live. The radiation didn't get that far but they still took precautions. There is one small silver lining to Chernobyl and that is that lots of animals find a home there now.
I like how they say it wasnt settled until they kicked out the cherokee ? that makes no sense lol. it was clearly settled .... by the cherokee... and before that. the moon eyed peoples and giants..... this land was very much so settled ?
The volume of sound for this video is low, I needed to tien my tv to 15 just to hear it, I normally have the volume set at 5. Forgot all about it until the next video played, my ears still hurt
Love your videos but maybe tone down the upbeat narration with a somber subject. Sounds like you are reading a book to children. Other than that they love the video 👍

Thank you for sharing this! 🙂
I Remember Seeing Some of Those Places! Thanks for the Video!🌟😁👋✌💥

Good video
Katrina mentioned Brent!! I sent him a letter just before Christmas 2020. Never heard if he got it. Support Brent!
Hi Katrina😷⚘
I'd love to have gotten to experience something like that especially being able to own a town.

I like how she said Cairo wasn't settled until the colonizers stole the land from the native Americans 😅🤣
The Azores aren't in Portugal. They're in the Atlantic Ocean, quite a distance away from Portugal.
I would love to stay there for sure
14:32 Which one would you hide in to ride out the apocalypse?

Hi Katrina ,from Romania you are funny.
Hi love how you get straight to the video. 🤙🏽 can I get a shout out
Why is the audio so low on recent videos?
It’s pronounced Kay-Ro, Illinois. It’s spelled the same as the place in Egypt but it’s not pronounced that way lol.
I grew up going to Belle isle never knew there was a zoo there
I wish I could have gone to the dinosaur attraction
At number 9 dude literally looked at those xxx magazines and beat it harder than MJ and drunk himself into the next dimension 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don't give bad people ideas on how and where to be bad
