It is believed that before spain colonized the philippines, there are already stories about the aswang. It is also believed that they are attracted to the smell of the unborn child and they make close to a gecko sound when they are near a house with a pregnant woman inside. They said that it can be passed down from generations to generations, through a rituals.

*(Keep reading for blood donation psa!)*
I wonder if the reason people throughout history were afraid of having their blood sucked was because humanity had this pervasive theme of associating blood with a sort of life essence. A main block in the structure of who we are as an individual and so the thought of having that taken from us effects us on more primal level than most threats.
All that said, as someone who has a blood clotting autoimmune disease: *PLEASE go give blood if you can! Do it safely, ask how to do so during covid so as not to spread the virus, but even now, ESPECIALLY NOW, people need your help!*
Thank you and goodnight. Oh wait, it's 2pm... good afternoon!

Always thought that Mi’kmaq was pronounced like “mick-mack” but Origins Explained really researches the hell out of the topics they speak on so I have no doubt I’ve been wrong my entire life.
Any Indigenous people in the comments that can help?? I’m genuinely curious now.

I read a lot about Hydra and Medusa as a child! I probably already know everything about these mythical creatures! It is very far that nothing new itself comes across 😥

While living in. Arizona I heard many stories of the Arizona Bigfoot. I remember once of them being told on a radio program by one of the prominent news women in the Phoenix area. Her story had been told tp the family by her father after one of his fishing trips. He and a close friend had gone up to the rim country to go fishing. They had gotten to the lake and set up camp then settled in for the evening. The following morning the guys gpt up very early and got out onto the lake sticking close to the camp. Suddenly the area went deas silent and the both started looking around figuring a bear was coming down to the lake to get a drink. Then one of the men told the other to look in the direction of the other end of they lake where there was a huge creature standing on two legs and stepping over a barbed wire ranch fence like it didn't even exist. It walked out of the tree line and stood there looking straight at them fpr a coulpe moments then turns stepped back over the fence and walked off into the forest. Not long after the birds and other wildlife starts making their normal sounds. The two guys packex up camp and moved to another lake not far away but that night they heard several screams.
I presonnal have heard some screams in that area from time to time but never got to see any of the foot prints of see anything myself. However I have seen a few cast that were made of some of the footprints that people in the area have made.

Groo the Wanderer soundly defeated a Hydra by cutting off so many of its heads that it finally just collapsed under the weight of all of it's hundreds of heads... It was truly an epic fray.

Really? Using a modern stock photo of a man wearing modern clothes and captioning him as an ancient Irish king is a great way to lose all your credibility.
