About "tempest", it's not really accurate.. the line should be translated more like "yesterday I was the calm (one) because tomorrow I'll be the storm", so it's kind of a pun.
Also about Damiano's voice, ironically enough back in their days of xfactor Italy one of the main critiques against them was that he was not as vocally gifted as other contestants (similarly to the eurovision competition where there were some really impressive singers, from Switzerland to Malta) but he managed to use his very unique voice at his best potential and today no one remembers those impressive high notes from the others, but everyone remembers Damiano's voice :))
Marlena is his MUSE!!
So this is the most beautiful song about having creative blockage ever.

They are Genius, the best song to understand the nuances of Damiano's voice and the skill of playing the other guys in my opinion is the cover of back to black, a video they made on the terrace of friends playing with acoustic instruments, react to that please it's worth it penalty, thanks 😁👍
I think that in this particular case a more accurate translation of “tempesta” would be “storm”, since it recalls the saying “the calm before the storm” (yesterday i was calm because today i’ll be the storm)
By tempest they meant storm kind of, I’ve never heard tempest before haha.
