We need an update on this amazing storage system. A updated video where you show how they hold up after having tools in them the past 2 months. This is one of the best videos on the toughbuilt stacktech system, that I have come across. Make more on this system, thanks :)
So good seeing an Aussie getting these cool things (tools and boxes) from the states and actually reviewing them with the the knowledge of what we have and are used to here! Be cool to see you get some more things from these illustrious “big box” stores like Walmart, harbour freight, tractor supply, home depo!! Yeah we all know home depo and Bunnings are close to the same but that have wayyyyy more cool shiz over there!
Cheers mate. Yeah it would be awesome to go over and check it all out and see how different it is. The pricing would be the best part. Paying half the price sometimes there. Might have to see if I can do that. I’m wanting to do that in Japan soon.
Good initial review. Shake test was a nice idea. Sitting on and standing on was also a good thing to point out. I’m waiting for the drawers as well. Very interested to see what Toughbuilt brings to the market.
Great video mate. Looks nice, glad to see a real competitor in the storage market. I would love to see a water test. Looks like the water would pool up easily on the lids, but if it can channel it away from dripping inside it should be a good design.
Great video man. I've been running the tstak setup for a while now and its great but i find the drawers could be bigger. But also can't justify the price of packout. Reckon this could dominate the market if priced right and if it all works as well as they show 👌🏾
Such a great review/first impressions! 👏 the black colour in my opinion looks way better then the bright red of milwaukee of course its subjective.. just bought the toughbuilt open mouth roller from bunnings such a great product with there clip-on tech
Just call them burger units lol. Glad you liked them. I have them here in america. Only thing i dont like is that theyre heavier than milwaukee packout. But then again, that is a good thing.
Awesome video as always. I’d love to have you here in the states to work electrical with me. It would be fun to cut conduit in “freedom” units and have you use your own tape measure with the metric. At least volts are volts and amps are amps! Stay safe.
Thanks Ian. I’m hoping I can do something like that in the future. I’d love to travel and help out on sites to see the differences. Have a great weekend
Definitely going to get that system, easy enough to run two systems or even 3 as i have the toughsystem2.0 and some packout which i keep seperate for different types of tools, so ill just do the same and run all systems until one just takes over completely i guess. I do predict it will be the toughbuilt as it looks the best and has the most variety and seems to be so well thought out.
Stacking these types of boxes is great for transporting but definitely a pain in the arse to work from unless you unstack them all. And is the reason I went with the DeWalt Tough System 2 draw boxes. They all stay stacking and there are no restrictions in access. The major downside is there is no way to lock them.
Looking at the Large Organiser. What’s the room like at the top for clearance. A gripe I had with my Milwaukee one is the fact you can’t fill them up too much as the lid actually protrudes into each section.
I'm loving this stack. I only have 1 issue. My Ridgid stack is currently setup in a way I like. Moving all my crap from one specific 1st Gen Ridgid box to one of these will be a long process as it took a long time to get that Ridgid box set. As for removing boxes to get to lower boxes. I never open a lower set box with another box on top. Doesn't make sense to me.
Love this new system, I was just about to buy some from team red until I saw this. Then Bunnings adds huge mark up to get to NZ, so bet it be be as expensive as red $NZ400 for 3 draw thats $US160
Looks like they need a couple of tweaks for later releases. Locking mechanism is my only concern from what I can see on the video - but that’s a time will tell thing.
The crate on the pack out is way more of a struggle to clip something onto than this. If this came in a cheaper option to Australia will definitely take the market
Love this new system, I was just about to buy some from team red until I saw this. Then Bunnings adds huge mark up to get to NZ, so bet it be be as expensive as red $NZ400 for 3 draw thats $US160
I bought the husky’s because I actually took them all and lined them up . Husky was the only one that didn’t flex and I could stand on it with 0 issues . Also . Mine doesn’t say “ no step “ because it’s actually built tough 😂
A mejorar de Stacktech sería 1. que no se suelten las cajas medianas que se conectan arriba de la cesta grande (el problema es la cesta). 2. Hacer que no entre agua dentro de las cajas al abrirse la tapa.
When you the comparison between the packout and these. See if you can pull the hinge pin out of the hinges. I know on the packout you can pull out the hinge pins with the box closed. Making the lock on the front useless.
Toughbuilts imported by kinchrome and if you head into Bunnings at the moment they are Consolidating the gearwrench stuff which is imported by? Kinchrome, safe to say Bunnings will have the full tb range down the track
Many videos are now out on the primary objections expressed in this video...trolly wheels and the "apparent" inability to access a unit without unstacking the units above. I believe the wheel issue is resolved, and the 2nd issue, while clearly a miss by toughbuilt, can be remedied by a minor workaround (unlatch the locking mechanism on the unit immediately above the one you want to access and just barely raise it out of the locking mechanism.in the front and you will be able to open and relock the one you need to access without unstacking the ones above. Yes a MISS...but workaround works...I use it daily!)
I’m keeping an eye out. The normal drawers and trolley have just been released in america but still waiting on the roller drawers which is what I want. Hopefully soon
Great video! Long-term, is the StackTech latching mechanism a gimmick, or do you prefer it enough to be annoyed going back to the Packout? Durability questions aside, the new latching mechanism seems handy. Though maybe not as handy as being able to open the boxes while stacked -- that might be a disqualifier because of how annoying it would be at the worst times.
yeesh i duno ay, i'm on the dewalt toughsystem, look like they made it worse.. concerned about the longevity of the clip together mechanism. i also rekon i'd break those tabs on the back to remove the handle off immediately. i slide my stack up and down a timber plank to get in and out of a house reno everyday.
Even, if the pack-out system isnt as good as Milwaukee's I would get it because of the tough built tool belt system. That easy clip on system has incredible potential that hasnt got any big competitors. Atm as a sparkie i have pouches set up for testing, fit off, and prewire clipped onto a rails in the van i can quickly clip onto my belt
The locking/unlocking mechanism seems stiff, I’d be worried after using it on a worksite that it could seize up after a bit of use. Apart from that they look really good. I’m super curious to see what they’ll be priced at! Great video mate!
I started today buying the Toughbuilt 3drawers $269 from bunnings. I do have the milwaukee, but they have increased their prices, which is annoying. At least with the toughbuilt, they are cheaper and come with dividers for free. I think I will slowly swap over to the toughbuilt and do away with milwaukee, or stick with both.
Good honest review man loves it but im going to be blunt and say it looks like knockoff junk, I'd even buy the DeWalt before i touched that stuff. Packout remains superior.
Does anyone know if the pack out long handed tool rack can tightly hold things upside down if you were to install it on a ceiling in a garage or vechile????
These boxes are built to a high standard but they missed the mark on a lot of the engineering aspects on their first pass. e.g not being able to stack on top of half size containers, latches not working while stacked and not releasing the containers that other companies dont offer, like the single drawer system and the water cooler. I'm sure they will fix it over time but right now the best systems is the FlexStack system.
Nice investment, too bad it's not holding the value . The axes is flexing on evri tool box trolley, including the milwaukee tool chest, which has even a horrible condition on heavy load, the tire is jumping from the rims. On the new Milwaukee packout trolley box they charge the wheels, but they get rid of the ball bering, so it's metal on plastic and from the dewalt experience is horrible over time.
I guess for here in new Zealand it'll depend on when/if they bring them into the country being that in the last few months the Ryobi system has just started to be stocked. Personally I have just started to buy into the Milwaukee pack out. Yes it's expensive but it's been around for a long time the quality is there. It'll be interesting to see when Makita releases their version
Packout is bloody good which I suppose is why so many people have brought into it and many cottage industries have emerged. I’d love to invest but it wouldn’t work for me.
All of these modular systems are more or less the same. They are all made by the same company Keter, just to different specifications for different platforms i.e. Millwaukee, DeWalt, Ridgid, Ryobi, Craftsman, Makita, SKIL...etc
Packout is slowly losing their hold in the modular tool storage world because there’s a lot more options out here now. Every major tool brand is manufacturing their own modular tool boxes. This is great for those just getting into modular tool storage. Personally, I’m not at all tempted to switch, I’m too deeply invested in Packout that it would be financially foolish for me to attempt to jump onto another brand-wagon. Nor do I have any complaints with my Packout.
@@AddictedtoTools I would agree. Thought about doing a video on that myself 🤣. Love the videos. Keep it up. I am small time to you but still have fun doing it.
There are no bearings in the wheels . It is just plastic on metal . I love my stack tech boxes but no bearings is a huge problem and will be a problem with durability and longevity.
Too many cons Heavy when empty, valley on top to catch buckets of rain/condensation or debris, rocking around on the cart because boxes are not attached, cart axle bending. Slow production release, some accessories not until next year NOPE
I wonder about this tough built company? Is it a chinese company like Packout is? I know you guys in australia love china but i'm not buying from chinese companies.
I’m not really understanding the comment about us loving China sorry. I’m just showing tools. I don’t delve into who owns them. If that’s something you’re worried about, you’d have to investigate that else where 👍

I think Jake Weihe did one on his channel.
All great info, straightforward, no bs, thorough review. Thank you
Was thinking of taking a trip over the border to get them but I was thinking that hopefully with the phase 2 release any kinks would be worked out
Could you have a look at the modbox from Klein tools

Hopefully they end up at a decent price point when they hit retail in aus. Can’t justify a grand for boxes.

What id love to see is an open top tool bag/tote with a drawer in the bottom with dividers for screws, plugs, bps etc.
They have the tool bag /toat already
@@aaronking8253 does it have a draw in the bottom? Cause that’s what I was suggesting. I already have on of there normal totes

You’re very correct. I wonder why they didn’t allow for locking.
I use my drawers a lot and lock them up.
Hey legend can you do the new AEG Quickstak 2.0 they look good as well
Packout one love ❤️
I want the Gedore stackable storage but only in Canada I’ve found :(

I don’t see why you’d buy this rather than packout. They’re still winning IMO. FYI I’m a systainer user so have no skin in the game.

У нас в стране за эти деньги сколько стоит такой комплект чемоданов можно купить поддержанный автомобиль
Surely a couple of mm off the bottom will allow them to open while stacked
