The water test is one of the dumbest tests I've seen . I had mine in the bed of my truck , got rained on in Oregon . Like any human with an iq above 80 , I tipped the crate and 90% of the water fell off , then I opened it and bam , no water inside
my lowes did not have them on the floor,,but ordered online with store pick up and they were ready the next day,,at a discount,,bought four main pieces......
Just a heads up I heard there are over 250 new stack tech items releasing in 2024, im thinking to switch from packet because of the accessories and I use the quick click tool belts that it will integrate with.
I don't own them yet because they are only available in USA right now. But I have watched a plethora of videos on majority of the systems out there, because as an owner of dewalt tools, I early on decided dewalt's tool organising system is really not that great. That being said, there will never be an organising system that fits everyone's needs 100%. It is all about various compromises and what you can live with and what areas the system is better than the rest. A pro/cons list. As such, 'stress tests' such as opening lid fast to drain water...is not useful to most people at all. Because if we are going to use this as one metric for purchase, we are ignoring other far more important aspects of the system. There are few issues with this system yes. But the company is listening for feedback and already addressing some of the more glaring issues. One has to look at: price, accessories, durability, locking mechanism, modularity, etc. In most of these areas, this system excels and is poised to possibly overtake the packout.
Its not realistic to expect something with tight tolerances to lock when there is dirt and rocks keeping the surfaces from mating. I dont feel like any box would lock correctly
@@ReliableHVACR I understand that you were just doing what people commented about. Just think those people want a box to lock tight but also want to be able to lock them with dirt keeping the box up too high to lock. They want unrealistic things or they are using the wrong type of storage for their needs
Ill say this on your obervations. No doubt if you already have Packout or can afford to go with Packout its really hard to beat. Im a Dewalt Tough System 1.0 and 2.0 with the DS Carrier guy as they were afforable back in the day and Packout wasnt even out. I appreciate your testing man!
Different trades all have particular needs, I'm general remodeling\maintainence, maybe have to go from plumbing and electrical, to drywall and painting, but hopefully they'll keep up the quality and remain responsive to customer needs. It was a fair test, tolerances maybe a little tight, the unlock only feature seems more like a bug, the bathtub lids have both good and bad points (shit doesn't just roll off the top of it), but complicate the modularity of full and half units, etc. I am confident I can stand comfortably on a double stack, you would cry if I stood on your Milwaukee packout, hell I would cringe knowing how much that shit costs.
Thx. Nice demo Curious if you will switch to this or stay with the packout At the moment it looks like packout and flex stack have so much more to offer and all the innovative items are coming next year for Toughbuilt I bought the ridgid boxes years ago and have been well served by them. The cost of the most purchased items the clear lid organizers and crates being the original deciding factor. I mostly work in a shop and sometimes make service calls and sometimes load stuff up to work in the service lane and use crates and the roller base with an organizer I consider getting packout because the crates are much sturdier, can’t stand on the ridgid crate But the transporters for Toughbuilt, a hand truck and the hitch carrier are what intrigues me and that’s next year The ridgid stuff other than the crates are waterproof although I don’t strap the organizers on the hitch carrier I use now like I will the main boxes. I have platform hitch carrier with an extension so my suburban lift gate will clear, it also doubles as a bike carrier. With an extension your service van doors should clear also. For those time you just don’t have enough space and don’t want to mess with a trailer or 2nd trip. And like you said. This stuff isn’t cheap. I don’t know how much packout you have invested in but hopefully you get enough new viewers to make trying Toughbuilt worth it. The more I write the more I think about what they offer right now. Not enough to switch to but enough to start with. Honestly for a base system the cheap ridgid rolling box that the lid lifts off completely with the top boxes attached is easier access than any other system. Every one want a wheeled drawer box base. Toughbuilt steps up to the plate, points deep and bunts
I'm definitely more interested in what Toughbuilt has coming next year. For now I might just have a few in the back of the van, I do like the Stacktech crates over Milwaukee so far
Looks like next year, all the really good stuff comes out . But it's a good foundation and the sale was really nice , bought the regular 3 stack and the tool bag for $270 , cost me over $400 with Milwaukee for that . Plus I love that I can remove the handle for a tano cover
Lol, it is hell for stout, I like Milwaukee tools, but packout was out of my budget, stick to storage crates, 5 gallon buckets, supply bags, and my old Cosco kitchen stool, modified with oak 1x top. Ally stuff was ganked however, so starting over, I can stand on the Toughbuilt, and the rail system for the bags really keeps things organized, the dolly might be the better way to go, and the gurney thing looks positively broken, hope they follow through. Maybe they can make a deal with Segway and the thing will just follow you up the stairs!
I'm really curious what people will say about StackTech after using it for a while. It LOOKS awesome, and the latching is super convenient.... but it's also unnecessarily heavy and can't open while stacked. I feel like I would be annoyed by not being able to open it and peek in. I would rather the bottom container be like the Packout Cabinet. Needing to unstack everything every time stinks when you can just buy the cabinet and drawers. I think the next move will be the bottom container on the dolly becoming a cabinet.
Buy a Webster, and but a broom head on it. Paintstick will usually work if the threads match, also, flow though car washing brushes, and stiff bristled deck brush. RV brooms\dustpan combos are pretty handy, fit in a bucket, but don't take a lot of abuse.
I think if I was heavy in Milwaukee pack out I would just stick with it. With that said I have all dewalt and rigid stuff. I have had dewalt since it came out and that was all there really was at the time. It’s been ok. But it’s dated. I kinda still like the look of this and haven’t seen anything that would keep me from switching to it. Plus I like the black. Lol
In my opinion the medium toolbox with the 4 trays is a waste of money. Get the larger box and have more space and just use other organizers inside if needed
Seems like many of your complaints could/would be solved with the Spring and Summer releases, quite a roadmap. Perfect no, but great ecosystem for many.
Yeah that's the thing. I outgrew some packouts and needed more drawers. Instead of being able to switch, what happens, I have to buy more Milwaukee 🤷🏽♂️ work doesn't wait. So it's just a tough sell in the mean time
Hey bro seriously check out their wheels ...you will notice the rollers don't have sealed bearings. Appreciate a true tradesman reviewing this product.
Im pretty sure they dont allow comments on their videos because of the backlash they received from how their managers handled shares. Multiple reverse splits which cost people/customers six figures or more. The tools/products are great though lol
Not really impressed with feel of the boxes. They didnt feel anymore premium to me. Not being able to open when locked would bug me. I prefer pack out and even stack pack over toughbuilt. At least the stacknpack feels premium and more "toughbuilt". Packouts plastic isnt the toughest but the locking sytem cant be beat
My real concern is all the plastic, and whether it indeed remains plastic at very low temps, I'm not yet sure I want to go climbing ladders all day with the cliptech, I'd like to see that tested. I shattered a forged flatbar on top of Wolkcreek! The boxes and bags should be fine.

@ReliableHVACR love your videos
I agree . Why wouldn't someone wipe the top off before opening the box.
@@taylanlowe120 because it's a stress test 😂 how much can it take
I gotta say, for how much more water was on the Stacktech lid, about the same amount ended up in both boxes. I would have expected much more.
Thanks for taking the time to test !

Yeah forgot to mention it's best to buy them in bulk for some nice savings

I heard something like that too, hope it's true. That would be nuts 🤯
