"some of em' fell out but that's just gonna happen because... it's bloody marbles"
WINTERGARDEN SHOULD HAVE EMBRACED THAT PHILOSOPHY!!!!!
So true
Right!
he wont it wish to push the stone forever views too good
idk..poor marbles
Look mum : a computer
😂👍
ROFL!
Muuuum! Hes cheating again!
😂
Bloody Scary Electro-Mechanical Drone at the end. Perfect for a Steampunk Terminator remake.
You've made a whole Radiophonic Workshop, out of plastic tubing, ball bearings, and wood! Amazing.
So we have a Marble computer getting its input from a music keyboard. The digital output of the Mable computer is converted to analogue which is then used as input to a synthesiser.
I want to know more but my head just exploded.
Sam you are a genius.
they're still just getting everything working. They can replace the keyboard with anything that generates midi, and with tiny computers just about anything can be made to generate midi.
You truely are the personification of the 'mad professor'. Awesome.
I wanted to hate it because it's not the Segamegamachine synth. It does have it charms tho.
sounds like you created a new universe.
Like smashing two different universes together
This is awesome, it looks and sounds like a 1970s episode of Doctor Who. I kept expecting Tom Baker to show up.
who is what dr whoo is that some Old kung fu movie
I knew I wasn't the only one to get that vibe :D
It’s going to compose Tubular Balls!
In maths that clearly Is Abstracted unbelievable mutations Tubes squished into balls, ball stretched into tubes.. Need 3d renders now
Last guy I saw trying to make music with marbles appeared to lose his 😆
11:55 - 12:20 It sounds like a dead creature in hell, which is desperately trying to kill itself and anything else, just to escape the horror it's trapped in. Love it.
This bodes well for a team-up with Wintergaten.
Lol don’t team up with him. Nothing will get finished.
@alanh2820 To be fair, he's managed to get a few smaller projects finished because he's stopped faffing about.
I do still think that he's still a long way from completing his project.
@@reggiep75 I did see some recent progress, true. I believe it’s because he started to go back to his roots of not seeking perfection in his designs, like his first machine he was famous for.
Hmm kosmos song converted to Machine platform
So Analoging the Analog
"Oh how did the demon get summoned?" "Marbles, too much time, synths, and circuit boards!"
I'm starting to believe Sam is in reality the final incarnation of The Doctor.
look mum ball computer
Reminds me of the Useless Machines where when you throw a switch a hand comes out and turns the switch off, only more complicated.
This has made me laugh out loud with delight, thanks.
Duh, just use Marbles from Mutable Instruments!😉
Sam you are amazing, love your cool projects
the designation is bearing ball. a ball bearing would be a bad marble
this doesn't seem very practical for gigging at the local pub.
*Your Uber has arrived
"Got room for this mate?"
Scale it up for pool balls and you're sorted
Hmmm... BPM... Balls Per Minute? 😂 Interesting installation, but a smidge slow for typical music. Reminds me a bit of that century music art installation. Curious what comes out in the end!
Thank you for proving that MIDI programming is indeed “real” programming! And IMO in some ways is better for this kind of electro-mechanical sequencing than, say, Python code because of how you can adjust the BPM and the sequencer automatically adapts to whatever length sequence you put into it 😊
It kind of reminds me of machine code actually, the way you’ve got one key per function. “Turn on this output for x seconds, then turn off. Then on this other output for y seconds, then turn off.” rather than messing about with variables and functions and so on.
Looking at this series of tubes and hearing electrons falling out makes me lose my marbles... Wintergatan, eat your heart out!
I must have misunderstood at some point. You picked up some massive, unassembled contraption not knowing what it was? Your priorities are very strange. A man after my own heart. Lol.
Absolutely brilliant, thank you very much for your creativity and musical skills, such a super all round talent.
I think you may have inadvertently made a scale model of Terry Gilliam's brain.
Marble machines...I've seen that madness. Beware lol.
I really like the contact mic thru the fx..great to improv with.
Dangit!!!!! You're reminding me of my old Nord Mod G2. You can use logic to determine everything under the sun in it. . . . And outside of it! 😎
Love this beast!
I love that your approach is "fiddle around with a breadboard until it works". Magnificent.
When's the DIY eurorack kit version coming out?
this sounds suspiciously like you're trying to open a door to hell 😱
You are a genius
I have absolutely no idea what i just watched
fantastic that you got Jem himself in
You've Created a Monster!
Absolutely Marbelous 🎉
Thank you for being the mad genius that you are!
Wintergatan is about to break into the museum to steal that
your well mad lad xD
Outstanding..... 😊
Wow! Reminds me a little of the Forbidden Planet music... Holy COW that's freaking awesome!!!
Barbarella the excessive machine one my favorite all time keyboard interments performance ,,, Barbarella needs to get inside this LMNC.
It would have been better with 4, to join 2 x 4 bit to combine to 8, some cd4000 logic.
Maybe you wanna play around with optic diodes to create light barriers to detect things.
This is fantastic, I am really looking forward to the music this creates , I already like the snippets from this vid , something special about this project 👍👍
So a terribly complex and convoluted machine that basically plays random notes except they are not really random but it makes no difference in how it sounds if they were. 😀
What all this means is we could really be living in a marble computer simulation. Interesting...
the Plinkovac... oddly enough thats a brand of wine.
Oh lord. Now he's tearing apart giant pachinko machines. 😂
that speed ramp is brilliant:)))
When can we expect the smartphone app for calling in from anywhere and preprogramming the marble computer remotely?
One step closer to the ultimate Rube Goldberg synthesizer.
Man, you are mad, love from Oslo
lmao I love that speed ramp on the voiceover at around 4 mins
So about 3:54-4:05
@@AMPProf it continues well after that
A system of cells interlinked within cells interlinked within cells interlinked within one stem
the noises this things makes…so cool! All the best, Tobi
All totally normal. It's just everyone else who's mad. 😄
One in the world. Always a pleasure to see the joy of creatiion.
You got balls man.
I love it Balls!
Behold another marble machine that doesn’t work!
any day with an upload from you is a good day in my book! love your content and hyped to see more!
Check out Lawrence Waterhouse Junior, Jr. here!
Absolutely mental mad scientist shenanegans!!
Nice. It would be nice we can sync the what we hear to what we see - then it‘s done or onto the way
this reminds me of what charles and ray ames did with marbles and chimes
Seems rather convoluted, innit?
Sam, you mad genius. Do you ever sleep?
Ooo I was waiting for the second part
Dude thats a cool shirt! How can I get one?
Wintergarten wants to know your location.
7:45 you should be using gray code conversion.
Is Wintergatan watching this ? Martin ?
Someone send this vid to Wintergatan !
Hans Zimmer's latest instrument.
your completely mad and i love it
Marble MIDI Multiplexer?
Look mum, a computer?!
I am SO confused 🙃
I have no idea whats going on.
Marble Machine XxX
mad scientist 2.0
the crazy guy
🤯
Can you run Doom on it?
Cet homme est fou et génial ❤
Elves????
Mental.
Woah.
That's way cooler than Loser Wintergatan scrapping his marble machine X.
Harsh, but I get you. I was disappointed too.
The goal was to have millions of fans smearing butter over his ego every day forever so he didn't fail.
@@illustriouschinJesus don't hold back mate, tell us how you really think
Amâzin'
The sounds it made at the end is insane, it's like as if DeathStar is singing.
whhooooaaa TF :)
you're insane. I love it.
that's awesome nutty
that's mad love it
This was really good 👍
Bonkers
