I know that feeling, my team is drowning in debts of around $50 million right now, while being dead last on the table. If the team doesn't qualify for the Copa Libertadores next season, more trouble will surely be on the way.
@@cafu-thebrazilianalanhutto6835 Yes, but a combination of money bad spent, messy change of administration (the previous club president had to resign due to alleged match-fixing) and the pandemic itself has hit the club hard. A big part of the club's revenue was due to ticket sales and club memberships, the later of which dropped to the bare minimum after the pandemic started. Fans have been allowed to attend matches once again just two weeks ago. A campaign is being planned to raise funds to cover at least part of the debt, so there's some hope the situation can improve soon.

Some clarifications about the Milan Stadium: the situation is a mess and the project is currently on hold. For years Suning tried to push for the stadium (AC Milan was involved, but in 2017 they were in the middle of a series of property changes), encountering resistances from the municipality of Milan (reason why, for a certain period, it seemed like the new stadium was going to be in the small nearing city of Sesto San Giovanni). In 2019 it seemed like things were going to get better, but the project for the new stadium was ostracized by both the municipality of Milan (the plan included the destruction of San Siro and the construction of the new stadium literally next to it, the municipality was against the demolition part) and by an association of residents in the San Siro area. The pandemic, and the effect it had on the finances of both clubs (Inter in particular), made the stadium not a priority anymore; the clubs are more focused on surviving and reaching the end of this crisis. Another important bit of information has to do with the fact that Milan is helding municipal elections this fall, and the stadium has been an element used to polarize the debate (the current mayor has always said that he would be cautious about any plan for a new stadium, while many individuals from the challenger's side spoke about the new stadium as something that their administration would certainly build). Basically, the new stadium's project found many different sources of resistance during the years and the two clubs haven't been able (for different reasons) to push together for it for enough time to make it happen
Either way, the new stadium will be built. Last year, the City Council declared that there's "no cultural interest" in keeping the old San Siro active. And as it stands, the demolition was DELAYED, but not cancelled. Meaning that the stadium is on borrowed time. EDIT: Furthermore, the Mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala can't block the demolition even if he wanted to. An action that he doesn't have any interest in blocking in the first place, as he's a key supporter of San Siro's demolition. So no amount of virtue-signalling from ANY supporter's groups is going to make a lick of difference. In fact, although there are reservations due to other more pertinent concerns with the City, Sala is due to sign-off on the new stadium tomorrow at the time of this comment's writing.
Derby also could have been relegated due to said financial irregularities, being replaced by shocking late year performers Wycombe Wanderers. In fact, the EFL even gave Wycombe a Championship schedule, and Derby a League One schedule, should the administrative relegation of the Rams actually happen, which it didn't.
Now the whole FFP does confuse me a little bit but how have Barca been allowed to get in that much debt and not had any punishment of some sort from uefa/fifa?
Because over the years Barcelona has made a lot of money so usually 400-500 mill in debt is very easy to pay off for them until current/recent events and bad financial management hit the club
Half the clubs in Europe would be bankrupt if they follow Dutch rules. But because of that any good player coming through the system are being bought at 16/17.. so we are punished from being responsible fiscally…
If Barca can get people into their stadium and get control of their wage bill they should survive this period of turmoil. How can lose ownership of there stadium if they only lease it???
Please add United too.
United isn't on the brink of the disaster.
Koeman sitting in a Bentley kind of says it all...
Yeah him sitting in a $200,000 car is why the club is in 1.4 billion in debt. makes sense
No matter how bad the squad is Barcelona always performs
Time to wake up . . Your hallucinating . .
You seem to have forgot Hull City
Schalke won't go bankrupt as there is a huge fan base following and the people of Gelsenkirchen will save it together with its fan base. Plus sponsor ship and other investment. It will not go the way of Kaiserslautern as it has a very good youth policy on academy players. Look at Rangers FC. They recovered after dropping out of the Scottish Premiership . It did take them 5 years to get back into the top flight.
There are a lot more clubs in similar situations!
No arsenal?
aged well for derby
I have a feeling Barca will win the UCL this season. Would you bet against something as mad as that happening nowadays?
UCL? Rubbish nonsense .
Delete ur RUclips account so u stop commenting rubbish
More to follow, hopefully!
Barcelona are worth €-451million. And I have, like, €0. And 0 > -451million. So I could buy Barcelona?
Oy! Laporta, lad. It's your lucky day!
Many more to come in the next few years.
Let them go bust, all teams should run at a profit, and have 2 locals for every 11 fielded
0:20 why look like Bodyguard????
Can´t understand how Real Madrid are not in the top 3!!!
How
How long is it going to take for the footballing world to realise that Messi was a financial charlatan?
Oldham have to be in here
Derby fans just gassed there in a thumbnail with inter and Barca
To put inter in this video is useless they might have sold some players but they also strengthened the team and increased depth by bringing 2 strikers should have put juventus!
Especially after finding out it wasn't Sunning who sold Lukaku, and that he requested the move after they rejected 2 offers from Chelsea. So his sale had nothing to do with the initial plan (sell hakimk and no other)
they're going bankrupt ...its only a matter of time.....and i'm loving it
Inter is not as bad as barca
yes they are even worse.....and inter dont have star players like barca
3rd but I hate bronze 🥲
Number 1: Arsenal
Nah not worse than the teams mentioned in the video
We may suck but financially we are fine
Could you just_ -Imagine: if Inter_(Milan): were -"just:
about to: go bust/liquidated and then, **just @ the right time**; found: "A Wealthy_ -backer/investor!?"!!"??
-M.K.S.
**Maybe, even: = "a few "CO-OWNer's!?"!!"?? "THE P.I.F."; "Fortress" And "The Fortune 500 cos.!!"??**
