    One thing that I forgot to do was to plug my Rodecaster into the ATEM Mini Pro that I was using as my contributing Zoom participant. Normally I do this when I zoom from the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO, whose MIC1 input has an 8 frame delay. This is what caused my audio to be out of sync. Learnings for next time!

    37:23 I want to echo what Keith said about this livestream being a very important conversation. I’m about to kick off my little live-streaming business service and the whole zoom thing seems daunting. I love the fact that you had to deal with issues in real-time. It probably was stressful but we can all sympathise with your first attempt at this and how complicated it is. You handled it very well and it was very useful for the audience. I just picked up my copy of MixEffect yesterday so looking forward to using that from the get go. Love your work. Keep doing what you do.

      You're welcome. ZoomISO is up to version 2.0, and there are some differences between that and the version I used here. I haven't done many live streams with remote guests since this video (maybe a couple more), but it's somewhat straightforward now. Let me know in the comments if you're stuck, or visit some of the other forums where users are talking about MixEffect to learn more (i.e. Facebook, Discord, etc.). Good luck and thanks for purchasing MixEffect!

      @@AdamTow will do. I’m going to join a few more communities and I’ll be sure to let you know what people are saying re MixEffect. We use vMix with 3 ptz NDI cameras at my church. It’s a new setup but things go smoothly with vMix. I even tested out the TopDirector app on an iPad with usb C and a gigabit Ethernet adaptor. It worked great but I’d need a separate iPad for MixEffect when combining TopDirector for zoom iso NDI into my atem. Affording the thunderbolt pci deck link solution is on my radar, but it seems like an in-the-box solution for zoom ISO is the cheapest way to start out. I also run a Mac mini in my rig so vMix is out (sadly). I have’t spent a lot of time with OBS. Perhaps I should. Right now I only have the atem mini pro iso. Thinking when I upgrade to the extreme, I will get the sdi version. It will help with the decklink (can’t believe bmd doesn’t have the HDMI equivalent). Less converter boxes and cables. I also think cameras with sdi are the way to go - especially if I’m gonna start targeting seminars etc with longer cable runs. can even get a couple of cheap second hand HD prosumer camcorders with sdi. Heading in that direction will probably be good if I upgrade to constellation or something in the future. These discussions really help.

      Black Syphon used to route the Syphon video signal from ZoomISO over to the DeckLink cards, whose SDI output ports get routed into the ATEM’s inputs. Audio is s as Los piped through the app.

    Hi, I appreciate the work that went into this and it is very helpful. That said, Adam I read your explanation about your out of sync audio/video (which makes sense), but Kieth's sync is very far out as well. Are you clear on the cause of that sync issue? Tony's was out too but just marginally. Just curious if the cause was clear. Thanks again.

    • @AdamTow
      @AdamTow  3 года назад

      Both Keith and I were using our Rodecasters directly in Zoom without routing through the ATEM where we have set our audio delay. Tony was better initially but his audio got really messed up near the end. I think that was a Zoom thing. I'm doing a live stream this Friday, and I think I've nailed down my audio. Will have a different guest, so will be working with him to get his up to speed.

      @@AdamTow Great. Thanks for sharing. I too use the Rodecaster as my audio source for my online video work. The Zoom config you demonstrated mimics what I aim to test for a client but the output of my switched show will be 'spotlighted' for those on the Zoom session, I am not using YT as the destination of the event. Aside from the audio work to confirm sync on all my sources I need to confirm that indeed I can control the view to the participants. Your work helps me get to that answer and thanks in advance for that.

      @AdamTow  3 года назад +1

      @@SteveFishertheman If you're the host, you should easily be able to spotlight your video. Your other input sources, however, are they Zoom participants as well? I did have a return feed that I sent back to the Zoom which was the program out, but I don't recall if I was outputting any audio; it was more for them to see the video of what I was sending out to YT. I would just conduct tons of tests to make sure everything is working properly, and try to write down all the steps so you can easily reproduce in the future.
      I've made a number of changes from the setup that I used in this video. For Friday's stream, I'll be using a single computer to do all the Zoom and ZoomISO stuff. And, I'll likely be streaming out from the ATEM using a cellular 4G connection instead of my Comcast cable. If there's time during the show, I'll mention what's different.

    Hi Adam, I bought MixEffect and recently started using it with ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. What a product! Working fantastic for me. Before this I tried all kinds of Macros/Companion/Stremedeck etc. Now it is so easy to make and use Supersource related windows. No more macros for me. And your product is cheap! Thank you.
    One Question on ZoomISO which I am trying - I just join a meeting (from my Zoom pro Account) organized by someone else and I don't know if that host (someone else) has which type of Zoom account. Now you mentioned in your show here that we need to buy 'Business' account to get HD Support, what do you mean by that? If I am trying to extract Zoom windows from someone else being host ..... who should be having Business Account? Me or the Host or both? or all the participants? Please let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks again for your product, it rocks.
    Regards.

    • @AdamTow
      @AdamTow  3 года назад

      The person who created the meeting in the first place needs to have an upgraded Business account (minimum of 10 licenses) in order to get HD quality from the streams. Also, what you get from each participant is also a function of each participants' ISP. If they have bad internet, you might only get 360p from them using ZoomISO.
      ZoomISO is the app that allows you to extract each participant window into its own output. Usually, if you're bringing in remote guests, you should be the person creating the meetings with a Zoom account that offers HD quality (again, Business and up with min 10 licenses). If you are just bringing in one person, the quality should be better than 360p and is typically at least 720p I believe.

      @@jayscarrom No, as a participant (or host), you can use ZoomISO to extract participants feeds. What I was saying was that the max possible quality of the meeting (360p, 720p, or 1080p) is determined by the Zoom account of the meeting creator.

    Hello - just watched the live event with Here To Record and want to thank you for your contribution. My use-case is *only one* other caller -- can I achieve with ZoomISO, but with less hardware?
    I'd like to configure Zoom video interview as follows:
    • I view interviewee in teleprompter monitor.
    • The interviewee views SuperSource:
    Box 1 - Camera 1
    Box 2 - macOS screen sharing of anything, or
    Box 2 - Apple Keynote presentation
    • SuperSource recorded via send from Output 2 to Input 8.
    ATEM Mini Extreme ISO
    Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K
    MONITOR 1 + TELEPROMPTER:
    Neewer F100 7 Inch in Glide Gear TMP100
    MONITOR 2:
    FEELWORLD LUT7 PRO 7 Inch
    iMac 5K 27-inch + LG UltraFine 5K
    Thank you for your time!

    • @AdamTow
      @AdamTow  3 года назад

      When you say the interviewee views SuperSource, you mean he's viewing the program feed, which will primarily be in SuperSource? If so, you could do this view ZoomISO, but you will be limited to 360p quality unless you have a Business account (minimum 10 seats). If your SuperSource boxes featuring the interviewee is relatively small, you might be able to get away with 360p.
      You'll need to get the Program/SuperSource into Zoom. I do with with a USB-HDMI Capture Card and both ZoomISO and Zoom running on the same computer. Your meeting would look like this:
      ZoomISO - Your camera
      Zoom - Program/SuperSource via HDMI Output 2 and capture card
      Interviewee
      In ZoomISO, you'd only have one input that you would output via Syphon to a Decklink card.
      You could do this all without ZoomISO since you only have one guest. When there's just two people on a call, the resolution is 720p between the two of you. The instant you add the third participant (Program/SuperSource), it will drop down to 360p if you don't have the Business account. So, if you wanted to keep just two Zoom sessions running to get 720p, you would have to show the interviewee your Multiview screen. They would be able to see SuperSource, your camera, and whatever else you wanted to display in the other two quadrants.
      Your USB or Ethernet will always be your Program feed, and that's what you would use to stream out.
      Hope this information helps!

      @@hardymedia Content from 2nd Camera will get around the lack of HD for non-Business accounts, but you have to output that to HDMI so you can bring it into the ATEM. If the talent is sharing his screen, you won't be able to show him your shared Mac screen since only one thing can be shared at a time (that's why I suggested sending him the Multiview).
