Mozzies and midges are the only things I am not looking forward to when we head off, unfortunately, they love me! I have just bought some Good Riddance Mozzie to try, it's an Aussie product developed in Darwin and tested in Kakadu.

The mozzies love me too (Sian) i am usually the first one to retreat inside and still get eaten the most!! In the great scheme of things, they weren't too bad during the day or when it was windy, the good will always outweigh the bad 🥰
We were at James Price Point in July 2017 at had no insect problems and the weather was awesome, we stayed 3nights and caught zero fish
I wish we had the same with the bugs. Locals said it was the worst it has been in years, glad it wasn't just us having a whinge lol... We also didn't get any fish at that spot :(

In Cape Kedrauren, I got badly bitten by midgees, few weeks ago. SUV cream helps with the itch. Now in Broome and just got back from Pender Bay....no midgees at all, only a few mozzies. Our Jayco caravan been pretty well with the red dust...the only thing I tape is we are have a vent inside the door step...so I tape that up, but otherwise no dust inside. Great video, but dissappointed did not show us the road trip between Kununurra to Broome and the towns in between eg Fitzroy Crossing, Halls Creek & Derby.
I think the mozzies were down to timing for us and the late wet in the Kimberley. We also didn’t tape at the Peninsula and the roads were heavy red material so it didn’t get in the cracks.
We didn’t cover the stretch from Kununurra to Broome as we did it in 2 long days of driving outside of tourist season when it is not as safe to be there. We travelled with another family and hightailed through it all. Most tourist attractions didn’t open until April/May and we passed through in late March when everything was still closed or too wet to do (bungles, crater, mimbi caves etc)

you need to be in a safe place like me. on sunday i came back to my car after church with the car parked in the main street in the town and there was my drivers door was wide open. the last time i did that i left the key in the ignision also.

Another great vid guys. My wife wanted me to tell you about the Mossie repellent we use. Mix baby oil, citronella essence and dettol. It’s an old farmers remedy and really works. (As long as you don’t mind smelling a bit like an emergency ward!)

Awesome video, it will take ages to get the red out of the van n car, I bet the bites are a mix of sandflies, midgies and mosquitoes, other than a strong breeze, vitamin B and Good Riddance mosquito and midgie mousse is the best thing, the mousse is not sticky or slimy. Hot tip shiny side in for the alfoil your spuds will cook quicker. Big ups to you and Great Northern, good old fashioned service.

Yeah the wind that day was next level!! We are usually pretty onto it but when your stranded and not prepared for lunch, recording or anything 🤷🏼♀️ couldn’t do much! We had to record it though, Patrol saving a 200! 🤪🙌🏻
Great video as always guys, Here in the southern USA we have mosquitos just as bad during some of the summer months. We use no less than 50% Deet ! 70% if you can get it down there.(nothing else works, deet is your best friend!!) We keep the caravan closed up using only screens and keep fans going, but i know what ya mean!! we have them also.
Omg 70%!!! I think that would be an illegal import if we tried to get that here 😂 20-40% is the normal here! We ended up leaving the vans entirely shut until we went to bed and only opened a window or two for ventilation 😅 lucky the nights were nice and cool 🙌🏻

@@RustyCandyAdventures I shouldn’t think you’d need one for the backpackers? The gas canister we used here is like $10 for 100 odd hours, this is the ‘cheap’ version compared to the Thermocell branded gas canisters which get pricey!

We stayed in the RAC Caravan Park, great park but we also tried Cable Beach Caravan Park when we came back to Broome and it was our preference ☺️

Basically 4wd low range keep RPM about 1500 and turn wheel to either side constantly. Works forward and reverse. Congrates on the Great Northern response. Heaven knows you've work hard for it!
