    Good stuff, just did some binge watching. Just a suggestion have you considered setting up a couple of full kitchen modules using commercial cooking equipment for Stan? I have seen palletized kitchen units at Daytona speedway or something like a food truck or WAFFLE HOUSE kitchen. thinking something like a combo gridle burner oven unit, a grill and fryer unit and a 3 tub sink wash and prep unit. put them on custom pallets mor wheels so they can be setup out of the van or do something like the Baptist food trailers are with easy serving access. Lots of possibilities, gas or electric appliances available, sink plumbing would be the most difficult to overcome but a macerator pump would solve wastewater. Either 2 or 3 door freezers and refers or a progressive walk-in type reefer freezer combo unit for perishable food.

      Excellent idea. I have a plan to do something similar to that in the back of this trailer. You articulated very well the direction I am considering for the flex space in the back of this unit. That’s why we intend to leave the e-track in this section to attach it. I appreciate the thoughtful comment and appreciate you watching.

      What a great questions. We have BDAs (bi directional amplifier) in the trailers for cellular and the radios systems have external antennas, we also have typical repeaters …. Once in camp we have internal and external WiFi as well fiber interconnections between all the trailers

    Just a couple of comments - Yeah, my experience with slide-outs on this platform (Reefers) is that the mechanical needed to support them and leveling issues had us just getting another trailer which was logistically and financially more viable. And offered more deployment flexibility - depending on the job(s).
    One of our particular issues was using a vibration-sensitive sat dish on top of the unit. It never got solved to our needs and added unwanted height (and permits and routing) so AFTER it was decided to go with another solution a lot became more straightforward.
    I do have to say that our two best sources of information on the builds came from railway passenger cars and Submarines in passenger and worker layouts.
    Shower/toilet stalls worked well for the males but were despised by females (your mileage may vary) and shower humidity mitigation issues were ongoing without high-noise evacuation fans and ducting space. Curious how that's working for ya.
    I applaud thinking of the fire / CO2 issues upfront. We carried Oxy-acetylene and Nitrogen tanks along with other gasses and had a locker vented and set up for them as well, however no diesel fuel or exhaust. (We had a mostly unused LP-powered onans.)
    Windows? You're spot-on not messing with them in a sleeping trailer. Really? Perhaps from an RV perspective, I guess. But not for this stated objective.
    Also, and I regret not doing more of this, but using a thin stainless steel wall covering was great for us. Cleanability, light, and being thin (thus workable for radius corners). While a bit longer to build, long-term is excellent for maintenance and has less "bruising" angles than the traditional right-angle housing surfaces. The other material I'd recommend looking at is Kydex thermoplastic for interior walls. Both can have superior mechanical strength to weight, over wood, ease cleaning, and can have (kydex especially) outstanding odd angle/ odd space useability. This being said - wood's still the king for most of this. But I do advocate looking at a full range of material(s). Just my 2 cents. (We had to replace an oven once. And due to us fitting the old one in so well, had to rework a lot. So having a modular steel frame of a sort (Trimmed in with wood) would have really helped get that done faster...)
    Really having fun watching your series here! Good to see common sense as well. I'll hit that notification bell now....

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems  2 месяца назад +1

      Wow. What a great comment. I can tell you have extensive experience, far superior to mine. I appreciate the time
      You have taken to make your comments. We are currently expanding our shop to be able to work better with thin stainless and aluminum… in our fabrication process. In out trailers I use positive pressure in the hvac my introduction fresh air on the return side and make the engines room / areas negative in that way no combustion gas or co2 can make it to the cabin. The co2 and fire e-stop the gensets and hvac …. Thanks again for the suggestions and I’ll check out those other materials. You recommended
      Thanks for watching

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems  2 месяца назад +1

      On the humidity, that was an isssue as I oversized the hvac 12 people is about a ton of cooling and I put a 5 ton. I wasn’t controlling the humidity very well because of the short cycle of the oversized unit. So I just put a continuous run dehumidifier and problem solved. That many people with showers and a tight envelope great insulation and short cycles meant I had a huge water gain. The dehumidifier fixed it. I just plumbed it outside and placed it in the return air. Thanks again for watching.

    • @RolftheRed
      @RolftheRed 2 месяца назад

      @@ParkerSystems LOL, nonsense call on the experience thingy. Every one of these builds is a one-off. And everyone has a different experience with it. I really like yours I love the positive pressure. I'd never put a genset into a trailer, and well of course with that experience. Duh... Yeah, Kydex is the heat-formable sheet used in aircraft interiors.
      I had an improvised heat oven we would heat strips in for corner strips . we pulled the strips and draped them over a pipe to form them, No vacuum needed.
      I think we used nothing thinner than 0.125, and when warm a set of heavy-duty shears cut it like butter. But once hard - it has been used by police as anti-puncture armor (NON-ballistic) and riot gear. it WAS cheaper than alu extrusions. No clue now. Tap Plastics there? no promo intended... Sheet plastic providers are the bomb for this. We'd heat it and toss it into odd-angle joints as well. Stuff is limited by your imagination as it does compound curves so well.

    At walmart when we have frozen we put it in the middle. dairy deli goes on the tail or nose and frozen in the middle. it makes it easier to put 3 stops on the trailer and get everyone's stuff off with a minimum of moving pallets around. Or at least that is how we do it in the midwest, i could be different on the coasts.

    I would like to see what type of water heater you use. Tank or tankless. and your thought process with the unit you choose

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems  5 месяцев назад

      We use tankless electric (three phase on this unit we will probably do 27K that will derate on 208/3 phase to around 24K -- we will also add a diesel fired coolant heater to keep the genset on this unit around 12k -- when we deploy we typically have 3 phase genset power -- so we will heat water with the diesel fired heater on the small genset (on board) and tankless electric when the trailer is connected to the larger out board gneset -- great question we will include this thought process in the future videos --

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems  5 месяцев назад +2

      Absolutely, The way these trailers are constructed all the strength from front to rear is in the sidewall. the sidewall is a basically a truss -- so if we were to cut it away to make the opening for the slide we would have replace all this strength -- I have done some initial design work in this area -- but the way we deploy these trailers typical only 3-4 times a year the cost to create slides does not really make sense for us. I will tell you the plan that I have would be to maximize the slide outs to the max width and deploy simultaneously to balance the loads with out any outriggers. Thanks for watching

    This layout seems quite "luxury" for the type of situation it'll be in. Don't get me wrong, it's great that those who are helping people in need get a quality place to sleep and rest, I just wonder if it's the most optimal. On the other hand, if you have 4 guys in a room, or a row of bunk beds like you're standing in at the end of the video, some may not be able to sleep because of noises, which isn't good for helping others.

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems  5 месяцев назад

      The guys that take on theses events typically work 18 hour days, providing them a nice place to recover and make certain they eat well is requirement and even becomes a safety concern so it may appear luxury be we think of it as a necessity -- we can do 8 guys in this unit if we needed and other trailers do 16 and 12 people -- with the flex space and typical cooking support this is the next evolution in what we do. Great point on the noise -- the trailers are designed with white noise and heavy curtains --- even the supply and return vents are sound attenuated to prevent you bunk mates snoring from bothering each other -- thanks for watching -- I appreciate your comments -
