  • This walk follows the Medway towpath upstream as far as Bow Bridge at Wateringbury. After crossing the bridge there’s a change of direction, with the route heading downstream before veering away from the river to West Farleigh church and Kettle Corner in East Farleigh, below which it rejoins the Medway for a return to Teston Bridge.
This is a 5.5-mile circular walk from route 19 from the Cicerone Walking in Kent book. A perfect summer walk.
Highlights include looking at Teston Bridge, a medieval bridge that spans the River Medway, Teston Lock, West Farleigh Church (All Saints Church) and the old crossing at East Farleigh.
This is a fantastic walk and I can’t wait to bring the family back to do this with me.
I hope you like the video. Enjoy.

Hi Mike, nice walk, fella. Nice to see another RUclipsr showcasing our beautiful county. I was going to walk the complete Medway path during the summer, but an osteoarthritis flare in both knees scuppered my plans. I regularly paddle on the length of the non-tidal River Medway, but would like to see it from a river bank perspective. If you ever fancy a collaboration, drop me a message. Also, you are always welcome to borrow one of my kayaks if you fancy retracing your steps from a river perspective.
Subbed, and will follow your channel with interest
    ATB, Dave 👍

Thank you, Dave. I really enjoyed this walk and love having the Medway on my doorstep. I’m near Allington so have the best of both works when it comes to following the tidal or non-tidal direction of the river. I’ve never walked the Medway valley path, but I have run the length of it this year (in two sections from Tonbridge castle to Allington lock and then Allington lock to Rochester castle. Would love to Kayak it and experience it from the water so would be happy for a collaboration - just need to get out and practice first though 😀
Always nice to find someone else exploring this county as well. There’s so much to offer and so much history if you just get out and have a wander - or paddle. Thank you for the sub as well, going to be checking your channel out now… my evening plans have changed 👍🏻
