Nice wee vid I still love the classic GH 😊 Hope you've invested in a good variable temp soldering iron since making this though, it makes all the difference and getting enough heat into a joint quickly (in and out as fast as possible before heat starts transferring to everything else) is essential to good soldering 🙂

I think that it may be possible. My Aqroshot went 39mph on 2s and 3500kv brushless but we had a nice long flat road. The Grasshopper is less stable though and also the tyres are a bit crap so might be difficult. Good luck !

Hello I'm just getting back into the hobby and have a Rising fighter I just finished building and next up is a dual ridge. I've noticed that my dad seems somewhat interested in my buggy. I'd like to get him a 1/10 scale rtr buggy for Christmas. Looking to speed around $200 usd. Any suggestions on a pretty robust 1/10 scale buggy? He's never driven a rc so I have a hunch he's gonna be bashing into stuff in the beginning. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated 👍

40 mph is achievable. You just need a motor with high enough KV rating as you are limited on pinion size. I set mine up with an MM7700 on 2S then finally 3S many years back. I had no way to check it back in the day but I can tell you that I was able to run down the road beside cars going at least 40 mph.
Hardest part was keeping tires on it. The tires needed to be in really good shape or the would explode.

I bought the lunchbox and was baddest truck in the world to a 15 year old and have one again waiting for a traxxas brushless set up, a billet 4 link kit that im going to use longer links and I think their grp onroad pan car rubber slicks and a hornet pinion.
