    Just started playing after owning the game for a while... really like your videos, the best I've found tbh - I'm playing a nightblade after my first soldier.... got to say after learning about lvl 20 of soldier you could right click the shortcut bar and add skills (I was playing that whole time by default attacking haha) I realised the actual skills are the OP fun part.
    Then trying the skills of the nightblade i am waltzing through the game with twin poison claw things on veteran.really fun game and am hoping the dlc comes on sale for steam spring sale coz it's way better than last epoch which I refunded.
    Cheers again for the info. All the best.

    I dont even have this game, though i plan on getting it on xbox sometime, gotta say i have been obsessed with watching your videos on it! I think ive watched about 6 or 7 guides and tutorial-like videos so far in preperation. I just love listening to you talk about this game 😂 very passionate, proper gamer 👌

    Hey man! This comment is kind of unrelated to this video, but I just wanted to say that you reignited a spark in me, not only for this game, but for my life (as cheesy as that may sound). I have an embarrassing amount of time in this game for what I have actually accomplished.
    Anyway, I'm sick a lot and bedridden where I can't do much of anything, even play GD, but watching your videos has changed my entire perspective on not only my approach, but the FEEL of this amazing game. You made it feel okay to suck...lol. I mean I should have learned the things you teach WAY earlier in life. No gimmicks or music or loud people yelling "HEY GUYS! Check this out!"
    Your blazingly stereotypical English Karl Pilkington ish accent made it fun to listen to and watch while in utter despair. This may sound like something bad, when in fact it's absolutely amazing and I'm very thankful for it and you. Disclaimer: I am in no way saying you are like that guy, just the accent.
    I plan on doing tons of your builds with some of my spice (currently doing your Bloody Pox) and many others.
    Just wanted to say thanx man, and that Warden video with every class takes some serious commitment.
    Keep up the great work! ..It's appreciated. 🤘

      Thanks for the brilliant comment, it’s also much appreciated.
      I should really change the tagline of all future videos to “It’s okay to suck at this game” - glad to see you spotted my underlying philosophy.
      Stay happy and keep doing what you enjoy whenever you can do it 👊🙂

      @@Arcadelife1 I shouldn't have added the Karl Pilkington thing, you're clearly no where near that as far as insight and being a human being. It's just the accent...lol. It's great I dig it. What blows my mind is my state is as big as your country and we only have one shitty accent.

    Great overview of Act 1.
    On the soldier, I prefer to max Forcewave as well as it's modifiers because more damage is more damage. Energy potions exist and I don't mind necking them every other fight if needed. I'll also always take a point in Menhir's Will for the circuit breaker. With that said, I never level Soldier first because I've done it so many times it may as well be called Snorewave at this point. I'll respec around act 3/4 once I've got some MIs. I'm making a Deathknight? Necromancer first it is! I'm making a Battlemage? Guess I'm an Arcanist for 3 acts. You get the idea.
    Soldier is a great first mastery because Forcewave is *very* effective and it combos into so many strong builds, but because it's so strong you do tend to play it a lot and it gets a bit stale.
    As I said, great overview of Act 1 with a solid way of getting there on soldier. +1

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Год назад

      Yeah, the more you play it (Forcewave) the less it feels like massive fun, but it took me quite a while before the fun started to wane. New players are almost guaranteed to love it.
      I actively discouraged putting points in node one because energy pots are actually pretty rare (for a total new start), and if I'd said "Do it this way and rely on energy pots" I know this would just not be fun for some players.

    something I wanna mention: when it comes to the Blacksmith quest, if you pick Angrim you get the ability to craft a level 15 green 2h axe (Brutal Great Axe). Easy way to guarantee a good two-handed weapon early game

    hey @arcadelife , loving your builds. how are you getting 100% on bullrush? i checked most recent changelog and its not in there but for me bull rush is 25% chance to proc on attack

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Год назад

      The devotion chance-to-proc (for attack skill devotions) is based on the cooldown of the attack skill they’re attached to. Find a mastery skill with a longish cooldown (e.g. Blitz) and watch the chance of the devotion skill increase. The lowest chance for the devotion would be when attached to a skill with low/no cooldown such as firestrike.

    I've only discovered Grim Dawn recently. Very fun. I notice as a new guy that I constantly press M to open the map and explore every corner of the world, which makes me like simple builds like shockwave soldier where I don't need a lot of buttons
    My main issue is that Inever really know wether or not I missed a shrine for a devotion point; you got any tip for that?
    Oh and; about the steps of tornment, when are you supposed to do them? They are always very overleveled when I find them in act 2

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the comment - good to hear new players are still finding this game and enjoying it.
      You should be able to find all the shrines if you explore everywhere but some hidden areas are very well hidden, and some shrines are in areas that are only accessible if hidden quests are partially completed so it’s not totally straightforward. There are guides, videos and online maps for all the shrine locations but I don’t expect everyone wants to use resources like that. If you have 7 devotion points after completing the Act 1 area (Krieg killed) then you’re doing well so far.
      Steps of Torment is a challenge dungeon and the level scaling is deliberate. See it as a test for your character’s progress - if it’s too hard, get better gear and raise your main damage skill(s) some more, improve your resistances and try again. The skeleton keys can be crafted, but not at all the blacksmiths.
