=======(The Details)=======
This one is deceptively tricky. The left hand passagework is not pianistic, forcing you to switch hand position or otherwise be creative in how you navigate the 8th note runs. On top of that the left hand needs to sound smooth/controlled and natural while doing all those hand position changes and not missing a note. You can see where I lost concentration here (1:30)
The track was equally tricky to arrange. I’ve been working on this in the background for the past couple months and the arrangement only finalized in the last couple days. It was hard time coming up with ways to develop the theme, while staying true to the original. Many sections slowly evolved or were scrapped in the process of arranging this tune. I even originally had a whole major section featuring Zelda’s lullaby.
I knew I wanted to play through the theme fully, fairly intact, before adding different harmonies and stuff. I tried to be very tactful about varying the left hand accompaniment as the track goes on, to create some variety without straying from the original too much. In the second half, I experimented with harmony and texture, trying to keep to the somber mood, before looping back to the start. Overall a little different than my usual style and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
Your Pianist,
Erik C.

You forgot to interrupt the piece with battle music every 30 seconds.
^
When I played through the game for the second time, I spent about an hour trying to avoid all of the enemies just so this song could play uninterrupted
It’s so true and tragic if the battle music didn’t keep getting in the way the melody would be much nicer to listen to .
Every single time I play through that part I try my best to avoid all the enemies since the ruin the beautiful music!
I wish they would’ve changed that for the hd rerelease but ah well 😩
This is one of my favorite themes not just in twilight princess, but in the whole series
X2
I would have to agree with you
Same, this piece is beautiful
My favorite one is the botw hyrule castle
Me to i love midna’s lament
Twilight princess had a big role on my childhood, it's an entire piece of art. If you haven't played it yet, what are you waiting for?
I cried when I beat it I couldn’t handle the ending
I'm stuck in the Fire Temple. Got the bow but no idea where to go
@@geckmelon1724 watch a walkthrough or something then.
For it to come on the switch 😞
The game to download on my Wii U is what I’m waiting for. Tomorrow I’m gonna start my play through.
The fact that the keys are green color makes it more special
The color of an unripe tomato.
The color of shriek.

Wow, it's really great as the great fairy fountain. I don't know Zelda, but it seems to be a beautiful game. Thank you, Erik.:)
The games are very beautiful. Glad to know the music can be enjoyed regardless of the source material. That’s a sign of a well-composed track.
I wish I could go back and play the games blind again. What a journey!
You should definitely play it !!
Do yourself a favour and play them. You honestly won't regret it.
Bro, zelda games are such amazing games man. Please, I beg you to play some of the popular Zelda games. I promise you that you’ll regret if you don’t. The soundtrack, the story, everything about it is just amazing.
I finally got around to covering this moody iconic tune from one of the pivotal moments in the game imho.
Well done on this! I really enjoyed listening to it. I was wondering if you could do an arrangement of Farewell Hyrule King from The Wind Waker if possible
Noor Dragneel got a windwaker medley in the works so we’ll see!
@@ErikCPianoman wher can i get the sheet?
It sounds like a foggy midnight stroll under the full moon's light.
Some tension of what cannot be seen, but the comfort of the moon's face seemingly guiding you along.
I love Midna as a character and during this I was blown away by the emotion it created. when I replayed the game so many times I would just not move and listen to it. Its such a beautiful, moving piece of music. Now i want to get out my Wii and play again!
I feel bad for the kids who didn't grow up on Zelda. They really missed out on the greatest childhood

@@wite1344its good. It's cool you found it and are telling your friends. Good stuff
A lot of people say that skyward sword has better the music. However this shows that it is all a question of execution. The game music suffered because of the in- game format but it is brillant played from a gifted hand. So many memories.... You catched all the mood from the game.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
there is NO WAY ss had better music... sure, better ambient/background themes, music the music itself? hell nah.
I'd argue the in-game format didn't hurt it much at all. Sure, there were some points it sounded a little rough, but... I would go to some areas, especially places like Snowpeak and Faron Woods, just for the music alone. It was nice to have that safe spot to just sit and listen... uninterrupted by the game's story or quest (great as they were). As for how it compares to SS, you just... can't compare them. They both have great music, but TP's is all about atmosphere and tone, enhancing the area, while SS focuses on emphasizing the adventure and the journey. I will say, though, that I've listened to the Twilight Princess soundtrack countless times, and I never fail to be amazed by it.
I think skyward sword had a few more outstanding tracks but I still think overall twilight princess has the best soundtrack in all the zelda games because every single song fits the place or situation that it was played in, for example gerudo valley's music is one of my favorite tracks from the zelda games but it really doesn't suit gerudo valley.
Yeah Skyward sword is starting to get overrated, twilight princess isn’t the best sleds gem though
Twilight had the best music in any Zelda
Now I’m just thinking about carrying dying midna as a wolf to Zelda
They way you can hear her labored breathing as you make your way through the castle gets me every time
FR
@@rapidrotation ikr btw is Zelda dead? I thought she died to save Midna. But she's in all the other games. I'm confused can you answer this. :^
I think Midna is one of the cutest Video game characters. Her yawns I thought were cute and her made up language I really liked too.
@@tikitorchgamin1842 she comes back. But in regards to the other games most of them are reincarnations of the characters. Zelda is one with the blood of the goddess (related) and Link is the one with the soul of the hero (so a direct reincarnation?)
what perfect playing and timing. i just finished loz tp for the 5th time yesterday. 😂
Rwrbit I’m on my third play through in 3 weeks, and it will be my 5th total play through
hmm only 5th IM LITERALY ON well alot
OKAY WHAT i replayed twilight princess so many times, i recently picked the game back up after 3 years and finished the other day as well 😭
Best game ever made in the history.
Dude same
as someone who got into the Zelda Series by being asked by my older cousin if i wanted to try "this new game he got on the wii", i love this so much
a lot of piano arrangements like this tend to get way too busy around the climax, but this one does a good job building up without sacrificing that eerie simplicity. So lovely.
Sounds great man. Such an awesome tune with such a deceptively difficult left hand!
Thx man. Funnily enough I think mine is the easiest version of the 3. U and Zebeldarebel did a great job.
I had a dream last night about this versus challenge, and we were struggling to uploadXD. Great job buddy, you definitely have this iconic modulating chord progression you often do in your arrangements. I love listening to your take on these arrangements. Who's arrangement reigns supreme? Let us know in the comments!
Thx man. Time will tell!
Damn! I'm learning the basic version of this song, so just clicked on this expecting a simple version that was a bit longer, had a little flair- just give me ideas on how I want to do my version eventually after i learn the basic format... but what I got was an absolute masterpiece that quite literally brought me to tears. I am 100% learning this version now. Thank you so much for this, I am blown away.
this theme makes my eyes moist every time, no matter how many times i listen to it. why is zelda so perfect?
This is what made me wanna learn piano 10 years ago, and now i can finally learn it :) your videos are my favorite to watch your a big inspiration thank you.
This still holds up, found myself coming back to this and I can actually play it, 4 years ago blows my mind, thank you
Beautiful, and hearing this gives me a lot of memories. I remember hearing this song at the desperate hour part and thought there was a time limit. Never spammed a button so fast in my life. But afterwards, it made me feel so connected with Midna.
Man this piece gives me so many feelings, I was soooo worried for midna !! The music was soothing and charming but at the same time melancholic, I just love so much this piece! I'm so happy you did a cover for it!!!! :DDDDD
I really feel the same with this piece, I'm happy to see that other person think the same
Dude, craftmarne ive seen you now three times on different videos of erik’s
Hero of Twilight Well yes, I’m a big fan of his arrangements :D.
Legend says that there is a pianist that would wield a keyboard that seals away any wrong notes.
I adore the consistent left hand. Definitely my favorite track in the TP soundtrack, especially in this rendition. Love the feeling it gives off, especially with the "Piano-Man Flair," as I like to call it. It gives me nostalgia from when I played. Very well done, Erik!
Erik: Plays Piano
Me: Doesn't seem too hard. I could maybe do that if I practiced.
Erik: (Goes off)
Me: Never mind :P
Same tho
Like if Erik is a legend
The most legit legend of all time
He legend
Man called himself a legend
This is played beautifully with such a delicate touch and emotional. I was hoping you would do a cover of this piece as it’s one of my favourites and you executed it perfectly by adding your own imprints making the song more in depth and hauntingly beautiful. Well done! Keep up the fabulous work!
I remember I was so enamored by the song when I first played it that I stood there while Midna was dying. Good tines
the most underrated song in all of legend of zelda
Gorgeous. It's sad and nostalgic but also "dreamy"
This is my favorite song from the series, I've heard it hundreds of times already and I'm impressed at the amount of skill in this. These beautiful parts are just bliss, 1:00 and 1:35 and 2:02
When this song dropped, our mouths closed, our hands tightened around the controller.. you’re not dying today Midna
Man, they really knew how to just master someone's emotions when they composed this piece for the game
My favorite pianist + my favorite zelda music
Just perfect
you make it look so effortless! i’ve spent so many long nights trying to play this song, but i still haven’t made much progress. i’ll get there someday, i guess
I hope you've gotten there one year later

i actually fully learned the song, but i never played it super well. i forgot it though so i can’t play it anymore unless i relearn it
@@teclinsoro45232 years now bro, did you relearn it?
All zelda franchise is a masterpiece
My favorite Zelda game of all time. This game is what got me interested to try Zelda as a kid. The song is so Beautiful!!!
Hi Erik, just wanted to say thank you :)
Didn't even notice the slip up until I read the description. Awesome as always Erik!
Aa this brought back my Zelda tp phasee i used to love that game. The music is so emotional and I love it
I love this theme, it's one of my favourite Zelda's song, and you play it... I don't have words to describe it.
This is a great piece of music, and one of my favorite zelda themes and I think you pulled it of very well, this is my favorate version of this theme.
Really lovely arrangement - your spin on this song is beautiful and the new parts are very tasteful
Man.... I am glad I gave this game a go. It is so good and underrated... I really fell in love with the game, the music, and Midna. Once this song appeared I almost cried just hearing this beautiful piece.
When this music started playing. I knew shit was serious and had to get midna to zelda ASAP! Love the cover man brought back some great memories. KEEP. THEM. COMING
This is literally my favorite scene from my favorite game in my favorite franchise and you posted this on my birthday in the most topsy-turvy year since my conception. All that to say I was slain by irony and really appreciate your work! Ever since I heard your Song of Storms cover I was secretly hoping you would play this piece!
Fantastic piece Erik. I live in the UK and remember the game released on my birthday in 2006 and I was outside the Game shop waiting to get my copy at 8:00am, amazing game and incredible cover.
I've always loved this song so much. Then again I'm like obsessed with every song in all Zelda games
I love the effects as they come down to the keys. Plus this song on piano is too perfect!!!
One of the most beautiful songs in zelda. I hope you are proud and happy. I think this is amazing.
I’ve been waiting for this!
Thanks ‘C’ Man!
Este arreglado está repleto de melancolía, es como un viaje en el que ves de todo pero no sientes nada más que remordimiento. Esto es Arte, gracias por regalarme este momento.
Unbelievable work you have done and achieved! Keep going!
I'm so glad to see finally an cover from you of this beautiful song
wow, amazing, I was waiting for this, very good, this game was part of my childhood, tears fell
I never clicked on a video more quickly. Beautiful!
Over the years since manage to play every single Legend of Zelda Game except Twilight Princess due to its notorious controls. With this beautiful portrayal of the music, it’s making me reconsider.
I cant ever stop listening to Midna's lament.
Amazing job, I remember hearing this score for the first time. This is definitely bringing back memories! Your timing is perfect and your improvisation of this piece is dope.
I don't know why but I just love your Zelda covers so much, each arrangement is just a masterpiece!
Bruh!!!! This the best arrangement I've heard so far. Bravo!
Haven't played Twilight Princess yet (I know I definetely should), but I'll begin to learn this piece tomorrow!
So beautiful...
2006: Midna as helper.
2011: Fi as helper.

I got chills down my spine
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels! Dude you gotta do a Majora's Mask medley!
Greatest Zelda game of all time. I miss 2008 man
I have tears in my eyes ... This was my childhood
Just beautiful
Such a shivering and nostalgic vibe I love it and I love twillight princess
Very beautiful interpretation of this theme
Honestly, I find you to be the best pianist on youtube
what a legend, he recommended other peoples covers at the end instead of his other stuff
do you have the sheets?
Must've been 9 or 10 when this game came out. Thanks for your beautiful cover!
Thank you for the nostalgia now I’m gonna go cry because I can’t play the best zelda game ever(in my opinion).
I want this song played at my funeral. So beautiful, brings me wonderful memories.
I had a file saved at this part of the game when I was a kid and would just listen to it sometimes
Out of all of the Zelda games, twilight princess is definitely the one that I played the least, but this here really compelles me to play it
Man, I remember playing it on the gamecube over a decade ago and to this day, it's my favorite zelda game. So do yourself a favor and play it!
14 years after the gsme release, wow it's been that long lol
Still think the graphics are beautiful

This brings back memories of me playing Project M and ONLY playing on the Zelda stages with this song selected
I love this! I mean its so nostalgic but o still love it. Youre talented.
That walk up in the octaves at like 01:55 can be a nice transition to the great fairy fountain theme
Such a lovely song, definitely a top zelda song
FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!!! Literal chills man! YOU SIR are my favourite piano player!
This Song is something special to me.
Never before and never after did a game gave me that feel of urgency.
As someone who loves the franchise and has played this numerous times i approve
At first I was sad it wasn’t the A:TLA medley. Then I watched the video and forgot all about it. This one is really atmospheric in a different way than a lot of other covers, I love it.
Glad you enjoy the cover. Also ATLAB medley is in the works!
When I was a kid and started to realise that music in video games were released as their own albums I got soo pumped, the absolute bangers I have access to 😂
Such incredible song and performance
I always like your work on the Zelda’s songs, congratulations
i can only dream of being this talented
Beautiful!
Another awesome arrangement! Love it!
Ah yes.
One of the best OSTs
Erik, this is so beautiful. You really outdid yourself this time, this arrangement is perfectly performed and the musicality is ever so present, it sounds amazing. ❤️😭😁😂👍
Also, idk if you know this, but another pianist played this with some interesting forms of echoing on the right hand in the original medley, and yes, I will include a link. You are extraordinarily talented. ❤️

2:29 - 2:39 would be a cool transition into song of storms, the D octave specifically since it's prominent in the left hand chord progression in song of storms (I'm awful with chord names but it goes D --> [D, F, A])
Great work as always. Dude you never disappoint.
Thanks, I thought I was playing part of the song wrong, and this really helped.
Your Zelda pieces always leave me absolutely astounded. Thank you for such beautiful work! Would love to hear you tackle something out of Wind Waker sometime!
I’ve got a medley for windwaker in the works. It’ll be a while until it’s ready though.
