To keep easier track of the water level, a small 'pond' made of dragon stone with gaps, down slightly into the filter foam to hold back the aqua soil would also a be a good refill area... possibly back towards where the power cord for the pump is.
You should make your self and your unique talents employable, no doubt the skies the limit to how much you could make.

Nice! Would be cool with a rotating display base used in store windows ! You can send 12v to the display for wireless water feature using magnets in the base

Excellent scape! I was JUST thinking about attempting a similar Monte Carlo carpet in some cookie jar paludariums I'm making for the holidays but wasn't sure how it's do just chilling on a bed of aqua soil. Now I know it totally works!

Nice! I wouldn't bother with covering the foam with dust, just use moss (it is a great surface for the moss). And it can be good if you use some sphagnum moss for the epiphytes to make sure they get enough moisture.

I was wondering if bucephalandra or maybe dwarf anubias would grow like that on a rock.
Would be cool if you could do an update in the future.
