THANK YOU OMG so glad you covered this food recently. Need to go on a budget and I was looking at Iams - seems like the best offering at this price range.... and it actually has high fiber which my cat needs. She gets horrible hairballs and acts like she is very hungry when I give her lower fiber food. Its macros seem similar to Hills Perfect Weight which is what she normally eats but I cannot afford it right now. Hope this works.

I think I found an excellent dry cat food that you will be surprised by. It’s called Now Fresh. The senior dry formula has excellent nutrient levels. The wet formulas not so much. Catit wet chicken formulas have pretty good numbers.

Hi, thanks for your great videos!
Which would you choose among the following 3 for a 1 year old Havanese (with no known stomach or skin issues)
    - Adult Small Bites No Corn, Wheat, Soy Dog Food (formulated to AAFCO)
    - Adult Small Bites Chicken & Barley Recipe Dog Food (formulated to AAFCO)
    - Adult Sensitive Stomach & Skin Small Bites Dog Food (*tested* to AAFCO, but seems higher end of calcium and phosphorous)

I’d need more Information, use the PSS and see what scores best and of course consider price and availability

Thanks for the video. Why is grain free seen as a negative?

I believe in your nutrition research and findings with all of my heart (along with Glen PFPG)! The thing I’m really struggling with is the hills and Iams and Purina. I’m not trying to be one of those Judy’s or Karen’s (lol) but I don’t 100% think the hills and Iams and Purinas are necessarily the best even though the nutrient levels seem to be balanced. I’m only basing this off of my 3 month assessment with my 3 cats currently on Hills. My 1 cat vomits every time she eats it and one of my girls is shedding excessively and someone is urinating more than usual. They are all eating 7+ no corn wheat and soy dry Hills and hills 7+ wet beef, wet chicken and wet turkey. They have all been to vet in last month. Please help.

Lots can be going on individually with all of them related to the diet change or not. The DDX for everything you have listed is quite varied but since you where just i. To your vet, probably best to give them a call and see if you can work it out.

Could you review Hill's PD Derm Defense for dogs? We are currently feeding raw, switched last year in december due to various allregies (some food but mosty environmental). My dog is a 2.5yr old pittie mix and even tho he hasn't been scratching a lot in the past months, obviously due to not being high allergy season, his fur just won't grow back on his neck, behind the years and on his belly. He's been on Z/D prior to the switch to raw and while his poop was perfect, the skin issues were just bad... So I was thinking about giving a Derm Defense a try. He's also on Cytopoint from April to October due to his allergies. Allergy testing has been done with a vet dermatologist. So I wonder what you think about Derm Defense and if you have any other tip we could try it would be highly appreciated. I really want his fur to grow back 😂

Derm defense is good for general allergies, won’t be comparable to a hydrolyzed diet such as ZD for an actual food allergy. Consider endocrine testing for hair not growing back.

Good video. You always look so nice. Corn grits, ground whole grain corn, and corn gluten meal. Ingredient splitting. Plus ground whole grain sorghum, and brewers rice. By the time the salmon has been rendered, this is nothing but grain. Don’t tell Glenn, but I bought a bag of Hill’s Sensitive stomach. It was on sale and I had frequent flyer points. I mixed a little with my cats’ regular food and also fed it straight. It made Panda throw up. First time in over a year. The kibble pieces were obvious when I cleaned up. What fun is it, if I am nice all the time? Happy Feline Friday!

There is a veterinary nutritionist on All-Star Veterinary Clinic podcast today who doesn't like Hill's high-carb strategy for dealing with senior cats.

Is there a way you can contact you? I would like to share a concerning email I sent to AAFCO. I would like your opinion on it. It has to do with nutrients.
