I was more interested in my own club when you were in League 1. I was however 'over the moon' when we stuffed you 1-4 at St Mary's when you were in League 1 on the way to the ultimately unsuccessful 2010 FA Cup Final for us when KPB struck his penalty low, straight down the middle and into Petr Cech's legs. The Typical Brits Frodothebasset I think in football it's great to have intense rivalries or in our case one intense rivalry with another club, but that rivalry if taken too far can cause massive damage to peoples lives and even end them which is a step way too far. The last thing I want the next game between our two clubs to end in is the death or permanent disabling of a fan or fans. I mean we are all Englishmen, we support the same team on a national level so if our rivalry devolves into something akin to the Palestinian Intifada with bricks being thrown or Belfast's 'Bloody Sunday' then we have completely lost the plot. When doing this You need to look at who has won more in their history. And Granted that is Portsmouth. But you also have to look at who has the bigger fan base, who has the better infrastructure, what divisions a club has been in historically, how wealthy a club is, and how well a club is doing now. And Southampton do best Portsmouth in all of these areas.
Yea if you go all the way back to the forties your right. But we're Portsmouth founding members of the prem? Did they spend 27consecutive leagues in top division? Which team has statistically spent more time in the top division of English football? Which teams has one 34 games between the two clubs? Which team has consistently produced world class players? And which team is in both the premier and Europa leagues? Also have Portsmouth ever won the EFL trophy😉?
