    I just do not know how to thank you. I have had this pain for almost a year. I had two injection and the doctors were saying the only options I have left was surgery. I came across your video and did exactly what you recommended and I am now 100% cured. I will continue to do the exercises you have suggested and I am so thankful for helping me overcome my lingering pain. You are appreciated very much!!!

    Hi, I’m 80.5, sciatic both sides, right side since 2007. Therapy many times, never got to the root, as you are showing today. Past 6 months, right thigh prickly pain with heat, very uncomfortable. 2019 - 2021 severe spinal stenosis, scoliosis, piriformas, psoas, sciatic BOTH sides. I was absolutely miserable, never missed work, therapy made it worse. Refused surgery offered and asked for therapy from Rush surgical office. 18 visits and I walk and dance. Unfortunately, sitting all day at work and home, muscles have tightened. Thank you for these exercises to get to the root. If you have a suggestion for the burning, numb toes and outside of thigh, tingling, I would be grateful. Thank you🥹🙏. God Bless you and your family and your practice. I’m sure many have been helped!!!! 😌👏

    Severe sciatica pain finds me in my sleep. I haven't slept well for over a year, cause the pills the orthopedic gave me for the nerve only lessened the pain for a while and I can't take stronger medication due to my kidney disease. I have lots of slightly damaged disks at my lower spine. 52 years old. I tried exercises that stretched the nerve, although I have a very flexible skeleton...no result. You gave me hope that I can get rid of this devil! Thanks 🙏
    I will definitely be back for an update...

    Thank you so much for your videos. I recently (2 months ago) had my hip replaced. Afterwards, the PT (at home) was good, but the more it went on with exercises, the worse I got. The one exercise I really struggled with was knee bent and lifting my leg off the bed for 5 seconds. Even though it hurt, in my mind I needed to build the muscle and kept doing it. Now 8 weeks post surgery, I still cannot come close to walking unassisted. Super frustrating because I had my other hip done 10 years ago and it was a piece of cake. This time, not so much. My leg fells swollen, somewhat numb and when I try to put all my weight on it, I have this radiating pain down to my knee. Looking at your videos it seems like sciatica. Appreciate your exercises!

    What about a pinched nerve at L5 and S1. I also have fusion right there. What do you recommend. The swelling is down but I still have pain on my ankle that feels as if it was broken and pain around my groin and buttocks. I can't feel my foot so I trip alone. I also have stenosis on many disks and stage 4 osteoarthritis. I had dry needling done on one side of my neck and it took care of the pain. But I am also numb in both hands and my arms feel as if I was wearing a full blood pressure cub. I've had epidural after epidural but they pain in my back keeps coming back.
    Should I do the same exercises? I am now looking for a Neoro-orthopedic. Someone that knows about the issues and see if they have a solution. I'm doing another dry needleing. I don't know if it'll help my sciatic nerve but I'm thinking if I do microsurgery. I'm getting desperate.

    What’s the difference between muscle strain & sciatica. I have a history of sciatica but this time only my hip hurts & not my leg & hip. I am using a heating pad. No relief after 2 days . It came on suddenly when I got out of the car. I am 77 yes old.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey there, sciatica pain is a nerve problem that usually radiates down the leg, while a muscle strain usually only hurts at the location of the muscle. The muscle strain is usually caused by overworking the muscle. With a muscle strain, it is usually best to let the muscle rest. Heating pads are also beneficial as long as they are comfortable for you. Hope this helps!

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Yasser! We are terribly sorry to hear that your sciatica has caused you numbness and excruciating pain. We understand how frustrating it can be with all the information that is out there. It can be overwhelming and oftentimes contradictory. One thing to consider is that at El Paso Manual Physical Therapy we specialize in helping people avoid unnecessary injections & surgery while traditional physical therapy tends to focus on healing post-surgery. Because of this, the information we provide will be different versus traditional physical therapy advice. Also, everyone's body composition is different so what works for one person may not work for another. What's important is finding options that work for you as you know your body better than anyone. In order to find a solution you may need to try different techniques and exercises that you find beneficial.
      With that said, we would suggest that if you're giving multiple doctors' advice a chance it might be best to not blend some of the methods and techniques together as they might conflict with each other and not lead you to the result you are looking for. In other words, it might be best to just stick to one technique at a time before figuring it out if it works for you or not. Also, you might have to double-check check form when doing exercises to make sure you are executing them correctly.
      We will like to provide you with additional resources that you might find beneficial:

    Hello Dr. I’ve watched many hours of videos on sciatica and bursitis. I have both. Plus fibromyalgia so it’s pain on pain on pain. It’s so flared up that it’s excruciating and become unbearable now. I’ve been doing other stretching exercises and have incorporated yours also and I think I am noticing a slight improvement. Every day I walk 2 1/2 miles with my girlfriend, but it is so painful on my hips and back. My right pelvis is tipped forward and my right leg is a little shorter than my left. So I am going to put a shoe insert in that shoe. Should I avoid walking for a while and if so, for how long? I am 72 years young with a lot of pain.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hey there, this sounds like something that would really need to be evaluated. The walking is probably causing the rotation in your pelvis if you are using the incorrect muscles. We have a great video that explains how to walk properly to avoid developing pain. Here is a link to that:
      “Does Walking Help Knee Pain?”
      ruclips.net/video/3ttv66it9x4/видео.html
      It may also be advisable to seek help from an experienced chiropractor or manual physical therapist. In the US, you can find a physical therapist trained similarly to Dr. David at this website: aaompt.org/Main/Public_Resources/Find-A-Fellow/Main/Member_Resources/Find-A-Fellow.aspx?hkey=108c9a56-f793-45e4-b3ed-cefe5d871a94
      Dr. David is a fellow of the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapists. His specialty is orthopedic manual physical therapy, which is the ideal specialty for helping someone avoid surgery, injections, and medications.
      Traditional physical therapists are best trained to help people right after surgery.
