@Lyle Grandersom. Okay, firstly, how the hell does, of all things, a freaking *Facebook poll* make a unanimous decision on a random chant in a concert video? Secondly, in what way is that guy a troll?
From all of the scientific study that I have done, he did come here from another planet in 1963, when all of the alien cover ops were going strong. It just goes to show that aliens are generally more talented than most humans.
I can play everything he just played there. I’m just not as famous as him. There are bass players out there that put this guy to shame. Wooten, Sheehan and Pastorius for starters

Just speaking from experience in instruments and being a guitar/bass tech!🤘😁
Its weird but every time I listen to Claypool, it makes me wish Frank Zappa had lasted about ten or so more years. I just know that he would of heard Les and used him on something. Would of been weirdly cool.
You should see him live great performer...also Les is an entire package of creativity and innovation...he practically created a whole new style of music...Plus his live jams in Primus are astounding.
Quit arguing about who's best and just enjoy it. This guy is a brilliant musician. Who cares who invented what? I respect anyone that can create this kind of music. Even if I practiced for the next 25 years, I could never play like that. Go Les!

@@divinefallfromgrace in hindsight he was better off. But at the time, no.... saying someone is too good is a nice way of saying you didn't make the band. While I agree with you about haters and how annoying they are, you have to admit, this isn't even close to his best solo. It's not bad, but not great either. I can say this as fully fledged bass player. Being impressed by a solo is what makes it great. I was impressed with this. Much more impressive is his solo at Woodstock.

The fact is, I enjoy listening to Les' songs and lines more than the fully fledged jazz virtuoso players.
Ianthebassist I think from a listener's persepective Victor is more accessible than Les, Marcus, or Stanley, but I love listening to all of them. I go back and forth between Wooten and Claypool as my favorite bass players to listen to, but I play guitar and only for about a year so I can't really speak with any authority on his ability.
