I was rewatching Valkyrie the other day and was wondering if there was going to be a History Buffs episode about it? I would love to hear and learn the history of those men and their heroism, even though their plans failed…
I saw a video on the movie (forgot which one now) and apparently most of what happened in the movie is pretty much true. Although I wouldn't call the people who were part of the operation "heroes" though. They all still had the same views and beliefs, they just wanted to get rid of Hitler because they all knew the war was going to end badly for them and Germany.
@@MrHEC381991 while I disagree with Facism and Nazi beliefs, I see any man who is willing to put their lives on the line for the lives of their countrymen as Heroism. The plan to kill Hitler, take over the government, and surrender to the Allies to end the war that was killing Germany from the Inside and Out… that plan is Heroic. While their values weren’t the best, the highest value of Country over self was Honorable. At least, that’s my 2 cents on the subject.
yeah, the movie really glosses over the fact that the men conducting the coup were still Nazis, and just wanted time to lick their wounds before restarting the war with only the eastern front guessing (probably correctly) neither the U.S. or British people would go back to war just to protect the Soviet Union.

Oh, I believe they were holding back on some things. In Schindler's List, there was a colonel I think they scaled back on some of the things he did because of a fear of him looking too cartoon villainy to be believable. Speaking of, I wonder if you'd touch on Schindler's List. Then again, the subject matter is more than likely too much for many to handle. Probably why I've only seen the movie once, yet it still sticks with me in gruesome detail...
You’re thinking of Amon Goeth, who was even too sadistic for the SS, and actually terrified some Holocaust survivors because in the movie the actor who played him looked EXACTLY like him
Currently watching Narcos after seeing your History Buff on the show and loving it. My question is: which Pablo book is the best one to read? Manhunt, Killing Pablo or the one by Pablo's son?
I'd rather just read the book because this Netflix adaptation looks to be very dramatized. The characters look so intense all the time and Pablo's voice sounds obviously bass boosted. For me personally, overly dramatic true crime series like Ozark or this fall a bit flat. It's getting kind of stale when it's only serious and scary all the time.
You'd have to read multiple books since this isn't just based around "Killing Pablo" but "Manhunters" as well. I would say the show is dramatized but not "overly dramatized". People like it because it's authentic. Only thing one can really complain about is Pablo's actor's lack of a true Colombian accent. But you would only notice that if you were South American and all the other authentic Colombian actors seems to balance it out. The acting is very good and the dialogue isn't cheesy like it is with many other crime shows.

I am straight up freaking out for this! Been waiting for what feels like forever! Thanks for the upload! ❤️
Hello fellow Caroline. Just saying hi. :D
@@carolinerollins8121hi there! There's not many of us left 😘
@@CarolineBearoline Sadly there isn't, but that just makes us more rare if you think about it. :D
16:50 LOL you said "sausage fest!" I did not expect that. Cracked me up
Hard to believe that there are people who see the violence that Pablo Escobar committed not as horrifying, but as aspirational.
I still see several motorcycles rolling around Colombia with Escobar stickers, the dumbasses think a terrorist is a symbol for sticking it to The Man
There are people who look at Bucha, Irpin and Izium the same way. And this is 2022, not the 1980s/1990s
When people are brainwashed they will see this as for the cause. You don't need to go far to see people defending/denying Russian massacres against civilians in Ukraine
im one of those people LOL he was badass
i just noticed that few last frames of the intro bottom right corner napoleon shows cleopatra his strategy plans
this is pure gold
I had a terrible day and when I finally got home I saw the notification of this video. I would like to thank you, because this new video gave me the first smile of the day! I'm rewatching the previous parts and making sure I liked them. I hope your day and everyone else reading my comment was better then mine. Thank you!

Excellent work! Looking forward to the next episode! Are there any plans for tackling the ELVIS movie? Thanks!
Literally two days ago I checked the channel to see if there was anything. Great timing!
I love when a piece of media based on history turns out being more historically accurate than you thought it would be.

Finally!!! Felt like forever since your last episode! Please do one on narcos Mexico!
Just came from watching the whole hour video on nebula (not a plug). Loved the video. Loved the show. Love the channel. I wonder if you are going to take a stab at narcos mexico. Despite looking up facts after watching these shows and movies, your research and commentary are top notch, and I learn so much from them. I am thankful for all you have been able to do thus far and your channel has done so much more for me than was ever warranted. Cheers!
Really great acting too. It's shows like these that make my Netflix subscription a fee for life.

I looked up the weapons used in the show and they had many mess ups mk18 and Galil Ace were not invented yet.
Those were Galil ARM's.
We need all seasons 🔥🙌🏼
Oh, I believe they were holding back on some things.
In Schindler's List, there was a colonel I think they scaled back on some of the things he did because of a fear of him looking too cartoon villainy to be believable.
Speaking of, I wonder if you'd touch on Schindler's List. Then again, the subject matter is more than likely too much for many to handle. Probably why I've only seen the movie once, yet it still sticks with me in gruesome detail...
You’re thinking of Amon Goeth, who was even too sadistic for the SS, and actually terrified some Holocaust survivors because in the movie the actor who played him looked EXACTLY like him
Omg perfect timing i was just rewatching your season 1 videos and was like "bruh when will he release season 2 videos" and here you are XD
Currently watching Narcos after seeing your History Buff on the show and loving it. My question is: which Pablo book is the best one to read? Manhunt, Killing Pablo or the one by Pablo's son?
I have been waiting for this, glad to see you are continuing the great insights. Would love to see you do The Crown also if you could. Thank you.

Carrillo even though fictional was my favourite character.
Definitely, a badass till the end, Pablo's dream about him was one of my favorite scenes
Mans has blessed us with another video
I love this series. Columbia is a violent country, but quite interesting compared to it's neighbors.

So freaking good! Love seeing this pop up on my feed! Can't wait for the next one!
No pressure but eventually can you do Narcos Mexico?
I’ve waited forever for this 😭

Oh I had forgotten about you, please do The Northman
Glad to see you post! Love the way you crate your work.
Oof tha was a clean cliffhanger
omg I waited SO LONG for this video! Thank you
I'd rather just read the book because this Netflix adaptation looks to be very dramatized. The characters look so intense all the time and Pablo's voice sounds obviously bass boosted. For me personally, overly dramatic true crime series like Ozark or this fall a bit flat. It's getting kind of stale when it's only serious and scary all the time.
imo ofc
You'd have to read multiple books since this isn't just based around "Killing Pablo" but "Manhunters" as well. I would say the show is dramatized but not "overly dramatized". People like it because it's authentic. Only thing one can really complain about is Pablo's actor's lack of a true Colombian accent. But you would only notice that if you were South American and all the other authentic Colombian actors seems to balance it out. The acting is very good and the dialogue isn't cheesy like it is with many other crime shows.
dude, I love your work
NICKY POO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally I waited almost half a year for this
Off topic. 12:51 that is a horrible portrait
god i love when i see a new history buffs vid.. keep em coming man great channel
