+SilverDiamonde07 Actually it's symbolism. The first opening is the second opening backwards. The song sounds the same too, but since they changed the words it's not going to sound exactly the same. I'd imagine you have seen the anime to know why they did that.
There was a guy who told me that most people thought that the beginning of the song was pure noise but actually she's saying "Nigerarenai"(you can't escape) backwards...that's why I searched for the song backwards...now I'm shaking cuz when I checked the lyrics in english and then figured out the beginning i thought "woah...the lyric is practically explaining the story ._." Cx
I read somewhere that when you play this song backwords, you can hear the word Nigeraranai meaning, "there is no escape." And I also think it's creepy when you listen to this closely you can hear "Nii-nii, yurushite," which I also heard means "Brother, forgive me."
at 3:05 when it says "Nii-nii," that's brother. So I think it says "Brother Forgive Me." Just putting it out there! :) This song is so creepy but can't stop listening to it!
what a minute..........the first few seconds and 4:07 - 4:22 are almost (if not) the exact same thing as the last part of the 2nd opening. Coincidence? I think not
I heard that the intro means "There is no escape." when played backwards or somethin like that. This is the 1st song I've listened to that sounds just as awesome when it's reversed.
Thank you so much for the video, and the notes on it! Everything i head was already discovered, but i think that about 3:28-3:30 it's not onegai mama or da mana, but onegai da na(If i'm not mistaken of course, in japanese it should mean roughly "Im begging you" ) what do you think? The best thing is that it's even scarier in backward, and even more if you saw both the anime season! If Rena appears behind me during this i'm gonna Take her home! XD
Awesome *_* the chanting in this one is the same as in Naraku no Hana (Meaning it's the same chanting in both, it's just that for Naraku no Hana, they reversed it ^^ which is why you put the song in reverse, it sounds like this one.) Record yourself singing the original first OP chanting part, and reverse it, you'll see that it's the same as in KAI..creepy but awesome! XD
I compared this to original version, in the usoda (lie) part, it`s originally "A forest where the cicadas cry" - Higurashi ga Naku AKAZU no mori e.. and akazu reversed (0:48) sounds a lot like "usoda". Not exactly, though (in fact it might be uzaka (akazu reversed). I do not know if it`s just extremely similar to "usoda" or is it intended...
Thank you for commenting :P Yes I know it sounds creepy O.O When you search the internet, and listen to the song close, you can actually hear the chanting saying something like "You cant escape" but then in japanese (nigereranai, or something like that ^^")
It's not just you ;) Everyone hears it. That's why the songs are probably really creepy. Eiko Shimamiya (the singer) did this on purpose (or so I heard) :)
Anyone else notice that forwards you've got (and this is what it sounds like to me) hani-ha-na-hada-hee, and backwards it sounds like hee-ee-yen-na-ka-ni-wa, which is the sound you can hear in naraku no hana? Anyone else hear that?
Damn, I just noticed the chanting in the background of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni is in reverse at the end of Naraku no Hana. or vice versa when reversed. Considering I've listened to both songs at least a hundred times, I feel stupid for not noticing that.
Oh, also at 1:24 and shortly after that, I hear "nee hora!" It might be easier to hear with headphones, but it's the background voice. I hope I'm not being a nuisance by commenting with my small findings. X /
Weird.....that little chanting thing that keeps repeating in the background (the first 3 seconds of the video for example) "eee eht an ung" or whatever still sounds the same both in the original and the backwards version. That had to have been intentional.
I think Rena is in my closet... and my throat is dry now.. I heard what sounded like gomen Nasai somewhere in there. kinda at 2:03 maybe.. I heard something like niinii not too long after it(5 seconds after maybe?) And lastly I heard Mugen Kairou(means endless corridor right? and is rika's character song name)
Actually it's "Won't give up." If you say "don't" in that, it would be "Makenai de" or "Makenai you ni." The word "makenai" is speaking for oneself and saying the opposite of "makeru" which means to lose or give up, therefore putting it as "makenai." Wow, sorry for the lecture.
Well, I dont know about that, but I do know u can hear "nigerarenai" (You cant escape) and "Usoda" (Lie/It's a lie) :) (I also read somewhere that u can hear "I love you" in japanese, but idk if that's true)
This scared the everlasting shit out of me coming across it at 10 years old. I'm 18 now, and it still makes me feel kinda uneasy and gross .-. Good ass anime though.
OMG this is so awesome holy crap, I never knew the opening chant would sound like the one in the second opening.
Ohmigosh LittleJayneyCakes I love your covers!❤️ Surprised to see you here!
OMG Jayney!!
LittleJayneyCakes you are everywhere 🤗
have u realized how it says "let me go" "theres no escape" "forgive me nii nii" and more have u realized it is related to when shion killed satoko???

3:05-3:08. ''Nii-nii Yurushite''
In the video this is the part where Satoko cries and whispers that =u=
Is it just me, or do you guys hear part of Naraku no Hana (the second opening) at the beginning?
+SilverDiamonde07 Actually it's symbolism. The first opening is the second opening backwards. The song sounds the same too, but since they changed the words it's not going to sound exactly the same.
I'd imagine you have seen the anime to know why they did that.
YuyuHakurei Yup! ^^
There was a guy who told me that most people thought that the beginning of the song was pure noise but actually she's saying "Nigerarenai"(you can't escape) backwards...that's why I searched for the song backwards...now I'm shaking cuz when I checked the lyrics in english and then figured out the beginning i thought "woah...the lyric is practically explaining the story ._." 0:02 Guys...Those choruses...Naraku no hana...WTH....
WTH as in "Welcome To Hinamizawa" or "What The Hell" ? -.w-.
I bet this is the creepiest reversed song ever!! Great job!! Love it!! I'm gonna stuck my ear to Naraku no Hana next!!
Nope willows of wisteria is scarier
I love how the backward chants from this opening are the ones from the 2nd season opening and vice versa. Adds so much more to the story.
gotta love reversed versions xDD and subliminal messages
hanni hara hare hi - in reverse - nigerarenai
nigerarenai means "you cannot escape"
at 3:05 when it says "Nii-nii," that's brother. So I think it says "Brother Forgive Me."
Just putting it out there! :)
This song is so creepy but can't stop listening to it!
That...was spooky...
what a minute..........the first few seconds and 4:07 - 4:22 are almost (if not) the exact same thing as the last part of the 2nd opening. Coincidence? I think not
the real OP
Yes more creepy
GOD DAMMIT it was creepy enough the right way around!! ;O;
Indeed, now its strait up Nightmare fuel!
First listened to this exact video in 2008, and here I again.
I heard that the intro means "There is no escape." when played backwards or somethin like that. This is the 1st song I've listened to that sounds just as awesome when it's reversed.
its not just yurushite, its NI NI yurushite, [brother, forgive me] and it appears in the part were satoko is crying O.o
song is scarier to me now.
So sadisticly intriguing.
I'm the 32,000 viewer. I love 1:00... No, I love every single bit of this.
if you listen closely to the begining, it's the begining of the first season's opening.
At the beginning it was saying "Nigerarenai"
Which I think means Inescapable/No escape...
XD
Omg that's just the most awesome thing I have found so far in this song! :D
Thanks a bunch for finding that XD
*gives cookie*
@Angrahius And Season 2 reversed sounds like Season 1.
The planning was insane...
Thank you for your kind comment.
And I didn't hear "Usoda" yet, I guess I will have to pay even more attention to it :D
0:47 "usoda"
It's a reverse of the 2nd opening, while the 2nd opening is a reverse of the 1st o.o
What if someone made a horror game and with this as the music?
@Forbiddengirl100 Actually, no, this is definitely season 1, but then reversed, and that's why it sounds alot like season 2 ^-^
1:56 "he has stabbed me! cant i see?"
another random lyric :P
it makes me think of Satuko though... O_o
I heard it completely too ._____.
I love this song forwards and backwards
Genius
Awesome *_*
the chanting in this one is the same as in Naraku no Hana (Meaning it's the same chanting in both, it's just that for Naraku no Hana, they reversed it ^^ which is why you put the song in reverse, it sounds like this one.)

I do not know if it`s just extremely similar to "usoda" or is it intended...
3:07 it says forgive me( yurushite)
o_o Wow, that's like... epic, like with Kingdom Hearts and their songs reversed
this osng backwards has nicer sounding lyrics...
O.o
Dat subliminal messaging.... and the song actually sounds good like this!
i noticed that 2, when i heard the start of this song, i though: Naruko no hana, and the 2nd series one backwards sounds like the first one!!
AT 3:05 It dson't lust say forgive me. It says "Nii-nii, forgive me" and it's at part where it shows satako in the Opening animation!
So freaky and yet so awesome.
Thank you for commenting :P Yes I know it sounds creepy O.O When you search the internet, and listen to the song close, you can actually hear the chanting saying something like "You cant escape" but then in japanese (nigereranai, or something like that ^^")
At about 3:48 it says something with a k (sounds like key-ay if you sound it out) and then Hana which means flower =)
It's not just you ;) Everyone hears it. That's why the songs are probably really creepy. Eiko Shimamiya (the singer) did this on purpose (or so I heard) :)
you are right!
In the beginning, the chanting :)
Wow O_O ur right O_O with a bit of fantasy, you actually hear Onegai mama *shivers*
Teehee ^^
Higurashi is one of the best animes :D and it's really interesting too :D
Is she saying near the begining and end "He is not drownding."?If so could this be refering to Keiichi after he fall in the river?
"Nigeranai" = You can't escape (it).
3:06 I can hear "Nii-nii" right before "Yurushite". This reminds me of... hmmm... Tatarigoroshi-hen.
I love how creepy it sounds!
it is the second op... well some pieces were taken from the 1st op then reversed & added to the second op
1:36
@elfenliedfan940 Now that you say that...it sounds more like "Ooh let me go on alone" to me
does anyone else think that this sounds a lot like the second intro?...
Your completely oblivious. LOL
yeah, if you listen to the reversed version of Naraku no Hana, you'll find that the chanting there sounds like the chanting in the first opening.
I heart it as well. I didn't recognize it first but it felt familiar.
they begin with the first words in the second season :0
at 0:01, 0:12, 1:04, 1:09, 1:14, 2:31, 2:40, 3:47, 3:55, 4:05, 4:09, 4:14, and 4:19 it says "Nigerarenainda" which means "[You] can't escape"
the beginning chant is in the 2nd op
Awesome! :3
Anyone else notice that forwards you've got (and this is what it sounds like to me) hani-ha-na-hada-hee, and backwards it sounds like hee-ee-yen-na-ka-ni-wa, which is the sound you can hear in naraku no hana?
Anyone else hear that?
there's "usoda" at 0:48 which means "it's a lie"
love it
Damn, I just noticed the chanting in the background of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni is in reverse at the end of Naraku no Hana. or vice versa when reversed.

Oh, also at 1:24 and shortly after that, I hear "nee hora!" It might be easier to hear with headphones, but it's the background voice. I hope I'm not being a nuisance by commenting with my small findings. X /
USODA!!!!!! you dont know how many times i've just wanted to scream this! lmfaooo xD
Oyashiro-sama is watching us all...
it w2eird how the begging chanting is the chanting in "naraku no hana" but it's backwards.....
Weird.....that little chanting thing that keeps repeating in the background (the first 3 seconds of the video for example) "eee eht an ung" or whatever still sounds the same both in the original and the backwards version. That had to have been intentional.

nicely found
at around 00:49-00:51 it sounds like:L "look and I'll be shining"
after the usoda.
3:06 niinii ... Yurushite
Haha, you're right XD
Awesome that u found that, lol :P
This only means one thing, everything is resetting for another arc, here we go again... I hope I can remember not to get killed...again.
Thx Alexboy34 (and of course other people) for pointing out words ^^ *gives cookies to everyone!*
Really? O.O
Aaaah, kowai!
Wow...O.o
Back masking ?
Actually it's "Won't give up."
If you say "don't" in that, it would be "Makenai de" or "Makenai you ni." The word "makenai" is speaking for oneself and saying the opposite of "makeru" which means to lose or give up, therefore putting it as "makenai."
Wow, sorry for the lecture.
Just for future reference:
Onii=Brother
Oni=Demon
And not only no one literally didn´t give a fuck, but you´re went straight up for the """trap""" that you all made up.
Good joob I guess.
It's not just you ;)
I think the producer of this music, or Eiko Shimamiya (the singer), did this on purpose. Just to give an extra feeling to it.
Well, I dont know about that, but I do know u can hear "nigerarenai" (You cant escape) and "Usoda" (Lie/It's a lie) :)
(I also read somewhere that u can hear "I love you" in japanese, but idk if that's true)
lol XD
I dont think that's on purpose, the Kedoooo. But it's great that u can hear that :D i didnt take any notice of it until now.
It sounds a bit like dark techno.
I like it.
This scared the everlasting shit out of me coming across it at 10 years old. I'm 18 now, and it still makes me feel kinda uneasy and gross .-. Good ass anime though.
14 and i still get creeped out
Around 0:32 - 0:34:
"Unmei" (Destiny).
Did I hear "Satoko" at 3:34?
O_o
The chanting whichs says "Nigernai" means "you can't escape." Scary ey?
3:05
gawd. Only Japanese song can sound them same in reverse. i wonder is the makers of the song found this out.
Some of these are just hearing what you want to hear, but...Most of these are just genuinely creepy-as-Hell backmasking sounds.
rofl, it really sounds like poltergeist XD thx ^^
What does "daikedo furushiteiru" mean? ^^;
I know a little bit Japanese, but not all of it
1:50-1:54 "Demo boku na no ne.. aishiteru natsu wo" But it's probably me.. that summer that I love
the start and end of each of the songs are just the reverse of each other.....but other than that, theyre not the same
