oldy goldy :D anime was good too. Actualy i listened first time her from this anime. then searched and looked arround any information of her she is gorgeus
For me this song is even better than the anime OP, everything from those flutes, those orchestrals touches, and also the choirs, exclaiming the name of Beatrice, as in a way of praising her, everything on it. From the beginning with that powerful choir, then that instrumental part with the flutes, like in ancient celtic music and then how it grows, like a song in a chatedral that then becomes a chair. Is spectacular. I love it, I even use it to jog.
check out akiko shikata's another work, she's a genius. she does ost for the ar tonelico, so it just feels right to have her style for the umineko, esp. for beatrice
Akiko Shikata's voice is so unique and clear that I heard one of her songs for an anime and instantly recognized it from another song years ago. I had to find out her name so I could hear more of her voice.
Far and away, this song beats out the anime's opening theme completely. There's so much more... emotion in this one. It's just so much more well-executed in general. Although Katayoku no Tori does have that moment when it goes into "Nakanaide, torawareta..." or whatever, which is epic, this one is still better.
My favorite music when I was a teenager... it was hard to answer the question what your type of music? most of the time I just avoided the question...cause' no one I know I share the same type of love...
damn, where can I find more music like this? i mean like this and myth and roid.. and pretty much just epicly or intense, or fantasy styled music like this. especially with awesome vocals. mainly female. but idk. you know how i feel and what im saying.. ideas..? Edit: lol glad i have this comment to remind me of these tracks to look back on when i forget about them in my youtube adventures
If you're not familiar with the the Ar Tonelico/Ciel no Surge/Ar no Surge music, I'm almost certain you'll like it. Akiko Shikata is a major vocalist there, as well as Noriko Mitose, Origa, and others. Also, the Nier soundtrack comes to mind.
Seregelleth that nier soundtrack. ermahgosh. this is Godly. this is the type of music that appeals to me most. just plain epic but mainly instrumental with the nice chorus, and all the choiral parts that are pure acapella voice. I made the sound that Nagelfar typed by x100
I dont know what type of music this would be, nor do i understand the words, nor do I know what its from, but this a very nice song to listen too. Dramatic but also calming at the same time.
@HollyhockSamurai Continuing the preceding message: Umineko heavily borrows concepts from forest, such as the idea of fiction painting over reality giving birth to a multi layered reality, a gothic witch that challenge the protagonists to riddles who is weak to boredom, two different character are actually just one character that switches "personality" when putting on a dress, a character you believe exists doesn't, and the protagonist being forgetful and incompetent. Still decent though.
@HollyhockSamurai By "the book it's inspired from," I would guess you mean "And Then There Were None" yes? Well that's... not actually entirely accurate. The Umineko games (and to a lesser extent, the poorly adapted anime version) DO borrow heavily from classical mystery novels, and from Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie in particular for the "detective" role, but it's most direct inspiration would actually be another visual novel from Liarsoft in... 2004 I believe called "Forest."
lordlee2 Ryukishi07 stated that his inspirations for the visual novels of the When They Cry franchise were from Key's works (CLANNAD, Kanon, AIR etc) Umineko also took inspiration from Agatha Christie's masterpiece, 'And Then There Were None' and Dante Alighieri's, 'Divine Comedy'.

Oh, Beatrice, you're such a beautiful puzzle of a person. Rest in peace, our beloved witch.
I wish Akiko Shikata did the themes for all the Umineko games :/ Her style fits the mood of the story so well.
