Pretty interesting in theory, seems to be based on Mega Drive 3 chipset so should work exactly like one of those which means it does not support Master System or real Mega CD (but does Mega CD with Everdrive Pro). BUT......THE PRICE IS RIDICULOUS!!! I could buy three real Mega Drives for that price in the UK - they must think they are aiming for the boutique (Analogue etc) market with that price but it doesn't stand a chance against them......no HDMI, no SD roms...
Now we find something awesome .... and then it's totally overpriced.
In the end my mission is to check out stuff like this.
Otherwise it's possible I would even pick it up.

I have a solution for the black and white screen. I think it's because your HDTV can't read PAL signals, most are NTSC but if you use a region free RCA to HDMI adapter it should decode both PAL and NTSC signals internally before sending out. I had the same issue with a region modded Super Famicom and the multi out to HDMI adapter resolved this.

Sega CD can be played with krikzzs mega everdrive pro! I have one of these and it's basically a Sega chip from a va2 motherboard Sega Genesis 3 console. This console has been reverse engineered and it has better quality than an original Sega Genesis 3. Price is high but you have to understand this has newly designed motherboard and brand new parts and its not mass manufactured so the price is about right. This is basically like having a brand-new Sega Genesis 3. I believe the sega chip is also new old stock. So they are not taking them off existing consoles. They came from new old stock. So once they are gone I don't think they will be making more.

If it plays the MegaSD or MegaEverdrivePRO you can plat mega/segaCD. Too bad it's not HDMI tho
If this was $120 I would buy right away. At $180, hard to justify. But they are going in the right direction! This is basically a brand new Mega Drive.

Its a good option if you have a lots of MD games. Another option buy a fpga SiDi is the same than a Mist machine less money than a MiSTer. Megadrive its perfect and Mastersystem with FM sound.

Please try this with the BITFUNX RGB SCART cable instead of the generic AV SCART.
The cheap av to hdmi converter accepts RGB , i use it to connect my amiga to hdmi
I'll probably be buying one but, the price is getting close to what the Analogue Mega SG sold for. Still, it's a great little console and I like the idea of it using original chips.

This thing is super cool, but the price. I can buy an original MD for less. Still might get it though.
I see it has proper PAL borders, CRAM Dots and good audio, it’s close to a real MD alright! I want one so bad, better than my Mega SG which fails at PAL borders (over hdmi it does anyway) it seems as good as my MiSTer but I like that it has real Sega parts inside.

Como você mostrou no vídeo a versão japonesa me parece que roda os jogos um pouco mais rápido no padrão 60 hz já essa versão chinesa me parece rodar em 50 hz como o Mega Drive europeu

Got the "iced version" with the white pcb a few weeks ago. Its a genesis on a chip (goac) like they used on the last model 2 and the model 3...to be exakt it is the second version of the genesis 3. They upgraded it with some stuff you can see on the video. The composite is not as good as my composit-modified model 2. Rgb is as good as model 2. Audio is a bit better than my model 2 (va1) which has more interference-noise but lacks the bass of my model 1 (va4). It has the same problems as the genesis 3 (no master system support, no 32x support... Could not test sega cd but others say it works using a "mega sd" flashcard).
The black and white video is caused from the fact that it uses an ntsc encoder. They cant put out pal-composit in color. The product description warns you and you should use the multi-out (mini-din) cause you can output rgb.
About the speed difference in VR: shown on tv its fine but when captured it plays slower. My guess is that this is the reviewers fault. His Japanese model might be an early model that can play every region.

yeah that's a totally insane price for not having HDMI out and the black and white pal games.... might as well just get an original console.
Far too expensive when you consider what that would buy in 2nd hand original hardware from eBay.

Another one of those retro consoles that China puts in an acrylic plastic they may be new boards but are just a new board that is a new version of that console main board. That Mega Drive is a copy of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive model 3 main board just in acrylic box to make collectors want to buy them.
The sound of the original mega drive is still stronger, a little stronger, just making the comparison to notice, but it has already improved a lot in relation to the other clones. Who knows, maybe in 2026 they'll be able to make one with the same sound? Thanks for the review. Until later.

I find the original MD sound is still a lot better. Warmer, wider and fuller. The mini sound is closer to the mega drive 3 sound (of course). I wonder how it compares to a OG Mega Drive 3.

Way to expensive. The audio sounds crap, the original sounds way better. It's nuts because the cost to build it is maybe a few dollars. The "Sega" chip seems fake to me, because the original is printed and has thicker letters. If the price was like 20 to a max of 30 Euro (or USD) it would be good for the price, and I wouldn't complain.. Nice video as always!
No... for this price.. no ! I prefer to found the original Sega for same or less.
Why did they use the original Sony video encoder though hahaha it is not exactly good, might as well use something modern to get much better picture. Either way, for this price you might as well buy 10 real megadrives or like 3 and spend the rest on mods
$180, I wouldn't pay more than $40 for this. No games, no storage, no HDMI, no wireless, no cartridge bay flaps, no AC adapter in the description. How did you fix the black and white video issue for PAL. You say it like "Paul", we say it like buddie old "Pal" and I have a television degree. I was able to find a YT video that supported your pronunciation.
