Does any one know exactly what is cutting the slate at 8:00? I am looking to buy a machine that would cut the slate like this and give it the same hand cut chamfered edge finish as you see on roof slate. Would a masonry saw with the right teeth on the disk achieve a similar finish?
Looks like a carbide tipped sawblade set up to resaw the slate to width. Same setup as in a sawmill when re-saving boards to width. I doubt you’d get any kind of chamfered edge from a sawmill when re-saving. Likely have to cleave the slate with a levered blade to achieve a hand cut look. Good luck with your project.
