    Great video! I sell printables (not POD) but I still think this advice applies to digital listings. Several of my first designs flopped. I started seeing more views and eventually sales when I got to about 30-35 listings. I just listed my 100th design the other day so hoping I continue to see the momentum I’ve started. Thanks for your great videos, I’ve found them so helpful since day 1!

    Hey Heather. I just started my POD business and I’m roughly 3 weeks in with about 50 listings and rising. I know that all my designs are not a hit (although in my mind they are 😎) so I do ego checks with friends and family and they have no issue bringing me back to reality 😒… I watch a lot of your videos and they’ve been very helpful, thank you for that. I just watched this video and wanted to ask; if 8 months later do you still stand by everything you say in this video or is there anything you would change or add based on changes in the market, business strategy, new common issues you hear about or your personal experiences? Thanks again for paying it forwarded!

    Great video, Heather. I've watched many of your videos and learned so much. I'm six weeks in with my store and have had seven sales from friends and family, but no organic sales yet. I'm in my shop and posting new listings every day. This video reminded me to be patient and keep designing. I agree with you completely, this is a trial and error business and through all my listing "trials" so far I've learned much from my "errors" and improved both my designs and listings. Keep up your amazing work, Heather. And please keep the bloopers in your vids. I end up smiling or laughing at the end of every video! 😃

    I'm on around month 4! Digital & Tee's etc on etsy, This is all true, I cranked out a ton of listings in the first couple weeks, I'm at 38 sales now. They did not come quickly but a few here and there all random. I'm trying to start my brand now on shopify and this seems to be much harder so I've layed back on product/listing production at this point and I'm cranking out on free marketing myself in videos on social media with my products! I'm excited to see how this works out. Thanks for all the great info!

  • @Paradise385

    The biggest problem is that fees are way too high on Etsy, all you can do is scale up your profit , but then you get even less sales..
    I had my first sale , calculated everything , but additional cost appeared which they didn't told me about and I made a minus buisness. The site is not really transparent.

    Thanks, this was good to know as a newbie! .... Any chance you could make a video outlining an efficient system to go through the process of loading to Etsy ie; canva design, then load to printify, then do mocks, then publish, then do SEO on Etsy...etc...ie; is that a good flow chart for publishing in bulk? Do you do start to finish on one prodct then move to the next or do you do multiple designs in canva then load to printify etc etc .... I get so muddled bc I jump around all over the place lol ...And also, how do you organise all the designs into folders on your computer etc...TIA !

In the meantime, I still want all of the business banking to be separate. Can you recommend a way to do this? Hi Heather, love your take on this as a business. 😊 I have created a bunch of planner pages for professionals in my line of business, but they are still stuck in my Adobe Indesign, and I haven't decided in what form to sell it, as printables, print-on-demand through a print shop, direct sales to companies offering their logo printed on the products, or alternatively selling it as templates to other sellers in print-on-demand. Does your business coaching cover this form of products for marketing and sales? Or just pod for artistic designers?

    Hello Heather. I created a few nice designs on Printful and I try to sell them on Etsy, but it still doesn't work for me. I decreased all the prices to have my first sales, but finally I had to pay out of my pocket because of the Etsy fees. :) What marge would you recommend to have a good profit? The thing is that the items are pretty expensive and a polyester crop top would cost around $40-45 for the costumer. I think this is too much. How is it possible to make these high profits everybody is talking about? It sounds so easy. :) It's not just about the mindset, also the price right? :)

    • @itsheatherstudio
      @itsheatherstudio  Год назад +2

      I think the first issue is that you’re using Printful. Printful is high production fees and this can cause a huge loss of profit over time(there’s a Cassiy Johnson video where she goes over that if she used Printful she would have lost thousands in profit- highly recommend watching). I recommend a $7+ profit after fees(so aim for $10 profit margin on Printify or Printfuls backend so after fees you have at the least $7). The high profit margins is through Printify usually though and doing Printify Premium when you get to over 25 orders a month the membership really does pay for itself. If you sign up for Printify, use code HEATHER30 for printify premium- by the way this isn’t a sponsored comment lol I just really prefer them because I don’t want to see anyone who follows me not get more profit in their businesses and leaving money on the table.
