    • @repairvehicle

      Don't use additives, because they change oil chemistry and cause engine problems. You might have noise coming from injectors.

    • @repairvehicle
      @repairvehicle  8 месяцев назад

      I would use 5w-30 full synthetic or 100% synthetic oil and change oil every 6 months or 4k miles which ever comes first, due to fuel dilution associated with direct injection and auto/start feature.

      @@repairvehicle thank you for your reply! I'm really trying to understand this typewriter tick. I hope you can help.
      Why is it that it often happens after the first oil change?
      Why only some of the GTs? Why some worse than other?
      Will all of them eventually get this tick?
      Others say it has wrecked their engines. Is this possible.
      Reason why I'm asking is, I have an opportunity to buy a 2013 Mustang GT with 53000 miles. Very nice car, looks to be well taken car of. BUT It has the typewriter tick. Should I not buy this car because of it. Your thoughts will make me understand this better.
      Thank you!

    • @repairvehicle
      @repairvehicle  2 года назад

      Oil drains off and it takes time build up pressure. It should go away.
      Why GTs? People were often don’t allow engine to warm up and start revving up engine and it causes wear.
      I think all of them will have that tick eventually. Why? Ford had decided to lower engine speed to the point where it drops oil pressure to low and causes everything to wear out fast and start making tick noise.

    Basically my f-150 2018 5.0 engine had the same issue and the sound was there on low speed and starting , the problem was there cause of using the recommended oil 5w-30 full synthetic once I changed for 5w-50 full synthetic the engine got smooth sound also my fuel economy was decreased.
