Using a glue stick isn't uncommon. It's not as sticky as you might think, and def holds really well. Only downside... Yeah, it's not good for your hair.
No matter what I do to my moustaches, I can't get them to curl like this. They never achieve that almost circular shape, but prefer to point upwards. It's infuriating!

It's a handlebar mustache. Depends on each person on how long it takes to grow. I can curl mine pretty well, and it's been almost a year. It's thicc, but not as thicc as his.
Depends on the hair if it's malleable and grows straight and long you can set it easily .I usually have this all the time and once in a while I go clean and for me it takes more than two months to get the curls.It needs regular maintenance to be honest and should be keen when removing excess hair .Also it is hard to curl and when it gets bushy due to weight it won't stand up so the ends must be thin and pointy

holy cow I can't believe you used glue first. I use tacky wax and i cant imagine how sticky actual glue would be.
Glue stick and a pencil worked quite well and it held the curl all day. It just wasn't good for my hair, everyday I'd lose a hair or two.

Wax should be applied on a dry mustache. Wax is hydrophobic. Cheers

Use a hair dryer to warm it first. Will thin it out and make it easier to apply.
