- SO excited to finally share this with you all! This was from our last ever full rehearsal run on finals day, and the first keytar portion is from our rehearsal in Akron when the alumni corps got to watch. Hope you enjoy!
This actually ended up being a little tough to edit because I used in-ears to hear the keytar on the field (it doesn't have any onboard speakers). I layered in some audio from Bluecoats' high cams that we use to record our runs so hopefully you can hear the solo a little better. Thanks again to everyone for all the love and support this season!! 6W💙🍁

What model of in ears do you use? Shure? Ety?
I'd imagine clear shures would be a popular choice in this application, or maybe clear CIEMs with a UltraBAX T2 cable
EDIT: Oh, it sorta looks to be a wireless set up. Did you have a wireless in ear mix as well?
Ryan, you were amazing all season! Love the hype and loved the entire show! I am a Trooper alum from the 70's and am an "old schooler" that LOVES "new school" drum corps! Also, just an FYI, Josh Hubbard (baritone/trombone) march with the high school I teach drums at and he did winter-line for 4 years with us. :-)

Ryan should honestly be in bloo's hall of fame, this is honestly as equal to how iconic metamorphs trumpet solo was, this was so amazing to listen to i swear 😭😭😭
He kinda is, since he is on one of the prop walls on the back of the field from the bluecoats 50th anniversary alumni corps. Its the very right one on the back sideline.

@@augustr.4193 the thing that sucks about that is that is probably one of the only memorable moments in any blue devils show I’ve watched (my opinion doesn’t have to be anyone else’s it’s my own opinion I could really care less if you don’t think it’s a good one) I really do like the fact that the performers of the blue devils are absolutely insanely talented, but the shows they create are just so forgettable

The beautiful vocals were there. The clean mello playing was there. The clean choreography was there. And the energy was definitely there and unmatched. I can’t thank you enough for not only uploading this cam, but cutting to Akron for your solo to catch all those BEAUTIFUL alumni reacting to what will now go down as another Bloocoars historic moment up there with Boxer, Tilt, Dry Cleaner, Electric Counterpoint etc. I hope you keep those fingers fresh for when you have to bust it out in 50 more years ✌🏼❤️❤️❤️

My band went absolutely crazy for this legend 😂 We went to a DCI comp and it rained a ton but Bluecoats still played a standing show and we screamed for Ryan ❤

I just want to pop in here and say I love all the little commentary throughout. I only played in high school and our drill instructor was a little strict so we never really “allowed” to commentate. It’s also sick to see the perspective of a 2nd (mello) player! Usually I only see 1sts and soloists (yes, I know this was made for your solo but it’s still wicked cool to hear the other parts).

This show was already amazing, and then you brought out the keytar and it was just the icing on top of the cake. I can’t explain how much watching you perform this makes me feel, it’s truly like I can feel the energy and pride pouring out of you while performing so flawlessly in front of these huge crowds. I was blown away at how warm and full of a sound that keytar has in person. I saw the Murfreesboro show live and you guys blew me away. Especially when y'all debuted the (initial) new closer and uni change. I have a video of the closer on my channel. I was so excited lol. Anyways, Congrats on Silver!!!

Dude your solo lives rent free in my head, I literally can't stop hearing it. You killed it on that key-tar. I'm a saxophone player but this is half the reason i've decided to start learning trumpet because i would love to be a part of a corp someday. It seems like an awesome experience.
Dude! Just when I thought I couldn’t love you any more, I see this. I’ve been around drum corps a long time; 9 years each of marching, then teaching, then judging and now just a fan for the last 19 years. You were my single most favoritest thing of the whole season. If DCI gave an MVP trophy, it’s all you this year, brother. Thanks for a great season of entertainment.

I haven't been in marching band since 2000 and it's things like this that bring back that sparkle in my heart that I felt then. Great show, lad and also your comrades! Love the enthusiasm and energy.

This was SOOOO amazing. I was lucky enough to watch this from the stands that Friday since I’m apart of Warren Central’s Gold Brigade. This had to be one of THEE best things I got to witness in person and it just makes me appreciate music even more and actually helps me take on music in a different way especially with my current solo.
