Dogs take it little into account... It has no "smell", the most important sense for a dog.

It’d be fun, interesting and even useful to add a ‘voice’ to the robot - a bark, human speech, lion’s roar, police siren (etc), machine gun (sound!), music…

I like the pit-pats of the robot dog's feet against the concrete. Also, it's hopping is surprisingly cute. The way it hunches before hopping is cute. Hippitis hopitus.

Exactly. It has no discernable smell so it's a non-thing to a dog. Take a sponge, spray cologne on it then tape it to the robot. BOOM! It becomes something to a dog.

'First thing to remember is that dogs are mostly 'nose' animals, rather than visual or tactile.
- Realizing that, you perceive a very different experience for the dog - the robot is boring, just like furniture or cars going by.
- The vendors will have to provide apps that will engage the dog, and perhaps include olfactory experiences.
Except... sight hounds. It would be cool to watch this robot along with a greyhound or whippet.

For now personal robots are still to expensive.

I really wish I had a robo quadruped like that one. But unfortunately, just way too expensive for my budget. Instead, I had to settle for one that was about 8x smaller. 😭😅

I think if robot makers want to stimulate pets, they'll give the thing an organic scent and a heartbeat. Pets are smarter than you think, I reckon.

I have a feeling there are better robots out there that can sing, dance, light up, talk, respond to verbal commands and maybe even answer questions with artificial intelligence. A robot with such attributes I would get for the kids if not too expensive.
Why is there no protective dome around that spinning sensor whatever thing?
Testicles are sensitive too and have no dome though
@@aljackie7060 Well, for one, there are, two muscly thighs closely around. But it is also an industry standard to have a dome around rotating sensors. The poor doggie barely avoided injury a number of times just in this video. To heck with the hardware, it is way more dangerous to its surroundings.
