Hailey, people will always try to bring you down to their level! I have zero tatoos, but have plans for at least one, maybe two, at the moment (lol, my 60th birthday is in 6 months). My biggest issue has been deciding what tatoo to commit to. You are you and no need to change! You two are very different from me and that is one of the things I love about you!
My Mom got her first tattoo at 70! :-)

Whale breath story brings back memories of a blue whale encounter just off of Rosarito mid morning. I was driving with the chute up, wtf. WHALE ahead! Came up a bit started flogging the chute, then turned downwind to pass. The size of it was huge. Three boat lengths. Then, as we neared its spout it exhaled. The cloud of stench covered the deck as it was just a few yards upwind. The sighting was only a few minutes but the smell was with us all the way to Ensendada.

I grew up on an Atkins Eric ketch design, in Tasmania. tonking boat, she could handle way more weather than we could.
You guys are stunning humans, living your best life whilst on a journey unknown, but sure to be brilliant and successful. PS don't conform to anyone else's idea of success. You have it in bucket loads.

I enjoyed that a lot. I like the shear to shear mid deck of this boat. Uncluttered as most modern boats are. I built a ferro boat in my 20’s, a Canadian Samson 44 ft C’Quoia center board ketch, and one of the best features of that design, apart from its lovely lines and beautiful cutter style bow, was the big open fore deck. I miss that so much. I enjoy seeing people cooking on their boats, and I am really partial to very long close ups of log fires burning. You visit to Simons boat was cool in the beautiful sunny day with clear water, and the casual hanging around. A great Vibe. Keep it up.

Congrats on Thunder Child, I’ve admired her for years as she sat at the dock in Comox. Love your channel and can’t wait to see what adventures you and Hailey get up to on Thunder Child. Favourite part of the video was seeing all four of those beautiful red sails up and ghosting you along as the whale surfaced beside the boat.

I like the channel so much It's stepping back a bit from most of the sailing channels as your old-style boats are just that and that shows in how Thunder Child came about. There is a soul in what you do if that makes sense?
I've seen whales even closer to than that, good oman. Hope your channel takes off your content really deserves it.

She is a beauty, needs a lot of care and attention, lots of work before feeling safe in a 30-40 knot gale,
a necessity to seriously sail anywhere .

Okay Haley wanted me to comment! My closest encounter with a humpback whale was off of the San Diego coast of California on my Catalina 30. It was Father's Day I was talking to my dad wishing him a happy Father's Day I hung up on the cell phone and then a humpback whale came up about 10 ft off The port side of the vessel while I was looking the other way it breathed out and I thought a jet engine was falling from the sky from one of the Jets leaving San Diego airport it scared the holy flipping crap out of me I dropped the phone and then I got drenched with whale snot. Yes it was stinky but it was one of the best experiences I ever had seeing whales out on the ocean!

Guys, just an observation. You starter sounds very slow, and sounds as if it is drawing a lot of current. This may cause it to fry the windings inside. I don't know you or what you know about electrics, so I just want to suggest that you clean all the cable terminals on the starter, the earth connection as well as the battery terminals. If that doesn't change anything, chances are that you're going to need to either rebuild or replace the starter soon. They're not supposed to be rotating that slow. Take it for what it's worth. And congrats on the beautiful new boat!
