Didn’t see enough of Hailly in that one. Barry,..you’re a nice guy with a well manicured beard, but Hailly has all the character that makes your boat a home. I love those in between beam lights you found. They are great. A technique to have those in a more period fashion, you can tension 2 heavy copper stringers, fore and aft, one positive and one negative, then clip on light modules as required. You could even clip on fans in summer. I love the open space of the saloon on TC. The kiss at the end was a nice touch.
Nathan and his dog is a great fit for Dagon. Happy Anniversary to Haley and yourself, she is a talented and beautiful young lady. Enjoyed this episode tremendously, you certainly have found a lovely boat.
I WAS THERE AT THE LIVE~!!! YEA !!! I Was rootin for Hailly to bust a mooove at the end and end with with like 15 points!!! LOL sigh LOVE JOY COMPASSION
New interesting and informative with a depth Of personality and a gag rigger full of charisma. The fact you talk in nautical terms with a great knowledge and experience,we can learn more. So fun to see TC sail. Just such a classic - happy she found you. Can't wait to see you in warm places but BC isn't bad either (except when winter shows up).
Hailey and Barry congrats on your one year anniversary. You are nearly up to 14,000 subs. You have had nearly 5,000 veiws in 8 hours and nearly 600 comments in 8 hours. It's going to be OK. Thunder Child is a great boat and this is a great channel. 🐟
So cozy in there! We just picked up a 34 footer (tartan 34c) and gonna do it all again. You'd think it would be easier to get rid of 98% of your stuff and move onto a boat the third time. But it isn't.
Your video editing has evolved ten fold! Just remember, no swearing! The algo pumped you before, until you posted a video of you walking at night and claiming "fuck it". Keep it up, beat the algo! GLTY!
Are you going to upgrade the electrics on the new boat? What destinations are on the wish list? Incredibly refreshing to see old boats preserved and used.
9 hours and 5200 views Things are taking off. We started watching because of the area you sail but have fallen in love with the wooden boats. They are not for us as being in our 60s we want less maintenance but they are beautiful. .5 years and we point down the Columbia and plan on sailing those waters until we are forced back to land. Love the channel guys.
Hey mate, love your channel. Just found it, so have subbed. Calling in from Nz, and I'll be watching from down here. Btw my beer fridge is full again. Just saying. Love the ink work Haylie. Good stuff. Take care guys, until next time take care. ✌ peace.
Beautiful part of the world, I spent a couple of weeks there at the start of my backpacking adventure back in '91, and definitely on my 'revisit on a better budget' list if Iever get the opportunity. Thunder Child looks like a great buy, enough manageable project to make her yours, without being a ...... disaster area 😊.
Awesome jacket. I was just admiring it, jealous , I always wanted a canvas jacket like it. I hope you can replace it. I'd be interested in your way of cooling and stowing lines. I saw you did some nifty knots. Keep the pro tips coming!
Very nice episode. Nice to see you've found a buyer for Dagon: sees indeed to be a very nice person. Just one quesiton here: how is the restoration of your third boat coming?? Thanks for all your time and effort: keep it up, I'm sure you'll get t o that stage where videos will pay up nicely.
Greetings from SD CA USA. Nice and wholesome content. I know it is brutal on a boat in the PNW winters, but embrace it as much as you can. You are in one the most beautiful sailing country in the world. Hopefully you adventure out of the big city to take advantage of that (Not just the Gulf Isles). And please use original phrases. I am hearing copy cat from Leo! Cheers and thanks for sharing!
Congratulations on the dual anniversaries ! Happy adventures and best wishes from Montana. I really enjoy the podcasts. Try the board game "Cosmic Wimpout" if you get the opportunity. Cheers
PFD and a line. You yourself know the stats on recovery solo and even with another on board. Sorry raised and hold, as you do, the unforgiveness of Mother Nature. Thank you for your vids. Landlocked in AB right now and would so like to get back out there and liveaboard. Did in the past and really miss it Cheers pal
Your off and running , the vessel I wished to have. Ck out the restoration project Lotus out of up state NY same vessel as yours and Arabella it could be awhile. Angus
tell her i have the life insurance papers on you now and thank her for signing them. and that new 120 ft motorsailer she wants will be all hers after she accidently makes you trip overboard into the mouth of the kraken. tell her love ya lol uncle pervy
The alternative to getting the cargo to gabriola island is far worse. I’m often Motorless or have few hours on my motor to do the trip. And I pickup the supplies at the warehouse myself. The alternative being, a cargo van driving for 3 hours atleast, and taking two ferries, that’s one way, just to drop it off. The shipping costs are about 200 dollars normally, so Simon pays me 100 and I get it to him same day, for way less money and way less emissions. Not to mention I moved my girlfriend’s entire life to the island, in two trips. I’ve done 2 or 3 where I motor for most, but sometimes you have a schedule to keep and that’s the beauty of a motor. The majority of the time I’ve gone, I haven’t even had a motor. But even straight motoring across is better than the alternative by a long shot.
@@billygrahamyachtsinc753 yeah, I think you’re right. I’ve done a few years of sail cargo, and around here it’s more of a time convenience and savings than anything. Servicing remote islands, and has little to do with if the sails ever go up at all. I like the romance and idea of that but I also have little to no interest in taking 3 days to do 25 miles, and wasting my time and al my crews time.

SO NICE to acquire a boat that does not require immediate overhaul and refitting! There will always be projects, but GO SAILING NOW!
Nathan and his dog is a great fit for Dagon. Happy Anniversary to Haley and yourself, she is a talented and beautiful young lady. Enjoyed this episode tremendously, you certainly have found a lovely boat.
I've had your videos on in the background at work. Thanks for the sanity.
You and Hailly put SO MUCH into Dagon! Nathan is SUCH a great fit AND you are still involved a bit. This could not have worked out better!
I'm really happy for you guys finding a livable sized ship, and a buyer for Daggon. I look forward to seeing you out on the water this season.
You guys deserve all the good fortune you have received lately

Hey I've got a rigid boat dinghy too. Great dinghies and easy to repair any fiberglass damage and they never deflate!
yay, more Thunder Child! Hello from across the border in Washington!

We had a puppy like that one. A Newfound . HE WAS SO BIG. He did not like the pool. But love the sea water. Pretty boy Floyd. Black in white.

Are trying to say you "sail" cargo? Looks like you are polluting just like other vessels motoring most of the passage.
Please explain.
The majority of the time I’ve gone, I haven’t even had a motor.
But even straight motoring across is better than the alternative by a long shot.
@@SailorBarry Agreed Barry. But sail cargo in the pure sense means no rush, and delivery when the wind permits.
@@billygrahamyachtsinc753 yeah, I think you’re right. I’ve done a few years of sail cargo, and around here it’s more of a time convenience and savings than anything.
