To answer this question you actually see the symbiote taking on attributes of other villains peter fought with venom, the animalistic tongue the claws for lizard, and bulky built of kraven. The symbiote turns out that way with harrybis probably just major F U to peter. That and passinf from host to host corrupts the symbiote like human beings as filters things tend to change.
My theory as to why this is what happened with Harry is because The first go around Venom was just giving Harry what he wanted. To become dependent upon him. He gave him strength he gave him everything and then when Peter almost died. He gave Harry what he wanted. He gave him the ability to save Peter. Then Venom took to Peter. Eventually Venom was planning out who would be the host for him. Peter or Harry. The longer Peter refused to give the suit back the more desperate Harry became. The talk Norman had with Peter of him being like a son and he was proud of him. I’m assuming Harry never really got those kinds of words from his father and so it made Harry angry and jealous. Allowing a new emotion he never felt before of Peter. Then when Harry feels like he’s on his dying breath. The only thing that can save him is Venom. The power that he knows is there. He still has the anger towards Peter who has repeatedly kept the suit for himself and now that it’s finally off like was planned now Peter is refusing to give him what he needs to survive. Harry again is feeling betrayed, angered, and hurt. That allowed Venom to really take control over a dark desire that Harry hadn’t felt before until then. That’s why I believe the transformation was different. I believe Venom was always counting on Harry he just needed him more hateful, angry, and desperate for him back for him to reach the next stage. I know I said Venom was probably deciding who his host was gonna be but I think it was always gonna be Harry. Again Harry was desperate to stay alive and was emotional. Thus unfortunately he was more easy to manipulate into what Venom wanted to “give” to Harry.
I feel like these are usually the people who stream and are too busy talking to their chat rather than paying attention to the cutscenes and what’s being said. THAT being said, some streamers are good at paying attention to the game while chatting with their stream at the same time. But a lot of the time, they’re focused on gameplay that when they finally get a cutscene, they take that time to look away to answer super chats or whatever, thus, they end up missing important details
Ngl i was hyped at first when he transformed, then my stomach sank when i saw the camera pan behind peter, i thought i was about to have to fight venom right out of the gate 😭 and i KNOW i wasnt prepared
Let's be honest: no matter how much Insomniac tried to steer us off-course, we all guessed that Harry would be Venom. Even though we all guessed it, the scene itself was still glorious to see.

I don't think venom showed his true form from hatered to spiderman because Peter did tell that venom would have probably his true form if he was on Peter long enough so I think he binded whit 2 hosts long enough to be able to show his true form
