Interestingly enough, that game itself was a sequel to Woo's 1992 film, "Hard Boiled," and was even considered for it's own film adaptation at the time. I would have loved to see a sequel to that and more in that universe, especially with Vin, but I also understand I'm as alone in this fandom as that one remaining Artifact player.

I honestly don't see how a Mass Effect or Sims movie could do good. The main thing about those games is creating your own character and story and I don't see how you could make a movie that would please enough people.
What is it with movie adaptations of games and nostalgic properties always being prequels? A lot of these movie ideas were supposed to happen before the games. The Uncharted movie is a prequel, the GI Joe films are all prequels, the Halo TV doesn't get to the titular Halo until the end of the season -- why can't they just do adaptations of the things we actually want to see?
It's not a hard lesson but it seems like Hollywood will never learn it. Part of the reason these video games get popular enough to warrant a movie made out of them is their lore. It's already there! Stick to the script and maybe it'll actually be a GOOD video game film. Never gonna happen though. They can't get it through their heads.
Let's be honest: the new sonic movies were 60% dumb generic kid's movies with 40% Sonic stuff. But maybe that's what needed to happen to make something halfway watchable. (I saw and liked both btw)

I would hate to see a Mass Effect movie or tv show be made, HOWEVER, it depends on what they're doing. If they leave Shepard and their story alone, I could gel with it. But Mass Effect as a series is all about choices, regardless of if the outcome changes or not. And watching a movie or tv show that ignores that choice is just dumb as. And also I think it would just largely hurt a lot of people, I mean, you have to choose not only the background of Shepard, but their sex, and that can really upset a lot of people if you care about that sort of thing. But then there's also romance options too. Liara is often pushed forward as a writer's favourite, but a general consensus is that Tali and Garrus are huge favourites as romances for Shepard, but is chosing a human romance better because you don't have to worry about the VFX/SFX. So if a studio decides to make a Mass Effect movie or tv show, it'd be easier to choose a story that's been told either in the comics or books if you have to stick to Shepard's world. Or something not related to Shepard will just be easier imho.
