Pettibone is a beast with that yellow Gibson SG. He had Lucinda rocking back and forth like Rain Man. Like she was in a trance or something. Even she couldn't help but to be mesmerized by that axe.
I just learned about Lucinda Williams when Maura Tierney did the lip synch of Changed the Locks during an episode of The Affair (Season 2, Ep. 4). I was hooked and now have four of Lucinda's CDs. She's right up there with Patti Smith.
@rohbear2 Doug Pettibone is the guitarist here. He's awesome. When he does the guitar parts on these songs that were originally with a different guitarist, he adds that extra raunch & his own thing. He puts more raw feeling into a single note than most other guitarists could ever hope to. Check out his solo on Lucinda Williams' "Righteously", & the live version of the song “Essence” (RUclips link: watch?v=6Kd3Y-anRlM).
everything is said by the kiss at the end...excelent guitar work and a masterpiece of a song. She´s unbelievable and Pettibone more God than Clapton ever was !!!!!!
And I want to come sliding up outside in my 68 Road Runner . Walk in and sit down beside you and start off with a double shot of George Sickle chilled then start pounding the PBR with you.
Great song!! Love it, i prefer her other guitarist though. i went to see her live at leamington spa assembly and her guitarist was called Eric. He was awesome!!! I would highly recommend going to see her live if you haven't yet.
This NEVER gets old !!!!!!! And Damn if they aren't TIGHT !!!!!

97X.... Pow! The future of rock n roll!
Awesome, gives off a Neil Young vibe on parts of the solo
Yes - Doug Pettibone fired up the band like no other. What a player.
Yes, he's great! He's got a psychedelic sound....very Fillmore❤
Yes he's great, so Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin
this band is on freaking fire! one of her best songs it will be in my head all night
"... that's why music is the heaviest thing that you ever felt." - Jimi Hendrix
Lucinda, I love you. Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, darlin. The songs keep coming and never stop touching my heart....
My God. This version makes my body shiver
This ticks every single box, and then some!
We are so out of touch..... yeahhhhhhh! La la la la
My favorite Lucinda Williams tune if I could pick one but mainly because Pettibone is a Monster on guitar.
Saw them twice, crazy good shows, money well spent, Doug Pettibone is an awesome guitar player! Guys got it!
Lucinda! If I never see you live I can't take it. Please come to Charleston. If you play at Red Rocks I will fly there.
My gawd. Good description.
I don't know what to focus on, Pettibone's playing or Lucinda's words. unreall...
yeaahh this girl rocks !!!

+Lee Heidhues Yeah, I saw her open for Dylan, she was a lot better than him. Best songstress still imo.
Better than Patti IMHO, on par with Dylan...I’d say they are the two greatest songwriters of our generation.
Killer guitar work
God damn this band is tight!

I don't know about that it but her guitars and bass year it up!
Clapton is the most overrated guitar player ever. All classic rock is distorted stolen blues riffs
Pettibone kicks ass 24/7 but he KILLS it here and on Essence.
I agree on both tunes.
great song. Great guitar work.
Lucinda is a godess
Simply put, simply amazing
she hits home hard
Essence
Light went off
Best rock guitar tone ever!
This song is a slow burnin' fuse....
Her music makes me want to drink PBR from a can in a hot dive bar with a cigarette burning my fingers as I stare into space lost in my thoughts.
Thats what I used to do in Pontiac Mich and Detroit. Nobody ever bothered me.

O melodie frumoasa, intr-o interpretare de exceptie !
La Jefa
Neil Young influence.
Neil Young imagines he could play solos like Doug Pettibone...
And Neil knows he will never play this well.
Ништяк!!!
fukin' Doug!
