I think Lucinda is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Her music is amazing, her lyrics downright touching and not one of her songs are easily forgotten. I love her.
She looks fine to me what matters is that she is raw and honest....her heart is on her sleeve and that makes her sexier than hell no matter what her age
She is a musician and a poet. Just enjoy the soul, the blues and the rock & roll. How does how anyone look like have anything to do with anything? Just chill and enjoy. Simples.
All this gibberish about what Lucinda Williams looks like. Her music is so heartfelt and expressive. If anything, I wish she'd drop the eye makeup and show us just "her". On the other hand, it really doesn't matter as long as she keeps writing great songs.
If you're a man and you've aged and are looking rough (say Keith Richards) you're sexy and a genius. If you're a woman you get comments like some of these lame ones. As far as forgetting lyrics, has Bob Dylan ever sang one of his own songs the same way twice? Lucinda is one of the best songwriters ever. Oh and I do love Keith Richards too.
Saw a Lucinda show last night. New tour, new band, new hair color.... same fuckin' kick-ass live show! Maybe the best I've seen yet ( and I've seen some Lucinda shows! ).
Lucinda's authenticity is what I love. You mean, you've never been drunk in public wearing bad eye makeup. We all have our own way of being fucked up. She's just honest.
Just saw her this weekend in Phoenix. One of the best Lu shows I have ever seen. Her voice was great, she just seems in a "good place" right now. Probably the reason why she didn't sing much of off West. She pulled some old stuff from her self titled. I about pissed myself. Pettibone was not playing with Buick 6. That was the only downside. Still a friggin great show with a great band!!!!!!
i just found her today, and i am blown away that this woman hasnt become massive, i think its downright wrong. they still treat women like shit in the music bizz
johnny vine I'm glad also for you Johnny that you finally found her Miss Lucinda Williams. she has been playing for years and it took a friend to turn me on to her back in the late 90s and I've seen her so many times I can't count she is my all-time favorite welcome to the world of Lucinda Williams and hers open soul. you're in for one hell of a treat.
@ArmoredFelix I feel semantics come into play if we're going to discuss the performance holistically. But you're right, let's just agree to disagree and enjoy a damn good song. =)
Labels are useful but not definitive. I'd place this song more towards old R'n'B/classic soul music - that guitar hit is very Steve Cropper. Lucinda of course plays many styles on her material.
Karl Hildebrand The makeup Ms. Williams chooses to wear is who and what she is. Karl I suggest you do your best at paying attention to your own personal choice of wearing makeup. Thanks.
It would be nice if she were a bit more articulate instead of sounding like she had a mouth full of marbles, was eating quaaludes and doing a Marlon Brando impersonation from the Godfather. I like the song, respect her songwriting ability...but a great performer?...No... and comparing her to Janis...who was usually drunk on Southern Comfort on stage is an insult to Janis. You could at least understand the words coming out of Janis's mouth without close captioning.
to me she doesn't look or sound too good. She's always been rail thin and she's starting to look heavy. Also forgetting words and keys, makes me wonder....

I saw her on Thursday in Manchester. She made me cry. Bless her.
My wife and I are going to see Lucinda tomorrow night at the River Front Blues Festival in Portland Oregon. I can't wait.
It will never get any better than this Lucinda ♫♥♫
Totally underrated......
What do y'all mean? She's hot as hell. More soul than any man could ever stand. And that's drop dead gorgeous.
i will always long for my mans KISS !!!!!!!! THANK YOU LUCINDA NEW FAN
She looks fine to me what matters is that she is raw and honest....her heart is on her sleeve and that makes her sexier than hell no matter what her age
Just love Lucinda! She's awesome! I don't care about the exterior "shell" we all wear - it's the talent, the spirit, the love that lasts!
She is a musician and a poet. Just enjoy the soul, the blues and the rock
& roll. How does how anyone look like have anything to do with anything? Just chill and enjoy. Simples.
You can hear the pain-wonderful song.
I love at about 3:09 when she sings, "I go downtown..." so powerful and full of emotion. So good!
Hell ya! Love you my great shero! I can feel the pain in your song.

Nobody around can take your place..but you put me down..but you turned me away
Still I long for your kiss...I like this song very much!

Nuts. She won 3 grammys years ago.
Wonderful live performance. I hope to see her perform one day. Thanks for posting.

You can feel and hear the pain in this song-who CARES what she looks like??
Duane Jarvis, cowriter of this song with Lucinda, died on Tuesday.
Bring on the quaaludes... this woman's got it - Free Style.
I LOVE THIS SONG.....and im a metallica girl!!! LOL

making it real. hope you're in love, Lucinda!
@harley2ism......Im a guy & love the chicks and yes she is soooooo pretty to me too!
And rail thin is healthy? She's still kickin ass regardless.

Exactly!! Well said!
Maybe true, but she sure as Hell makes "60 miles of Hard Road in a Jeep" look good!
Great but she was self labelled blue grass / country..
Pal, that make up is called life.

Nice guitar, but you gotta wait for it
+Greg Fox nothing wrong with waiting...
If you like Lucinda's music, please check mine out. She's one of my biggest inspirations!
I love Lucinda, but she looks kind of like alice cooper in this vid....
sings through her nose-- NOT a janis at all!
