Nice locomotive lashup on the second train. Always good to see the old standard cabs!

Busy line! Do these trains go to and come from all over, or do they all go thru Horseshoe Curve?

They all go through Horseshoe Curve. Altoona is between Huntingdon and Horseshoe Curve, and a lot of trains stop there to add pusher engines and perhaps do crew changes, but all trains that go through Huntingdon also pass Horseshoe Curve! There are no interchanges in between.

@@DavidLauback Thanks for the info! I'm sorry to hear about the business and the apartments, as if times weren't hard enough right now.

What's a good parking spot for this location?

The Huntingdon Amtrak station has a small parking lot. Technically signs in the parking lot say that it's for Amtrak customers only, but nobody has ever given me a problem about it. Personally I try to not be in the lot around the time the Amtrak comes, which is 10:45 in the morning and 4:23 in the afternoon. It's a pretty small parking lot so it often does get filled up with people dropping off or picking up passengers, so that's why I try not to be in the lot around those times.

David Lauback Thanks for the quick reply, I do however have an out of state plate, so it might make my car an easy target for a ticket, I was thinking about the Park lot across the river or allegheny Street (which u have to pay). Do those meter accept card or r they quarters only?

No problem! I would recommend parking at Riverside Park across the river. It's free to park there. If you park in town I believe the meters only accept quarters. I think that it's free to park at the meters after 4pm and on weekends, but don't quote me on that. I would just park at Riverside Park.
