Well made video ! . Thinking aloud, I would think that the importance of Reviews/Ratings is not the same in all verticals. Maybe an idea to explore in the next Ranking factor survey ?
I do SEO consulting with local dentists. One of the ideas we played with was leaving an iPad at the reception desk so patients can leave a review before they walk out the door. Decided in the end that this is probably a bad idea for a couple of reasons. a) If Google sees the bulk of reviews coming from the same device, they may conclude it is fake b) Users need to be logged into their Google account to leave a review- which opens up security issues if you’ve got 100s people each month logging in (and forgetting to log out). Do you any take on this, Darren?
Thats actually a great idea, but what I would suggest is getting a QR code printed out and set on the desk. Then offer a promo like, leave us a 5 star review and your next cleaning in free. You could get around the IP address flag with a VPN but logging in and logging out would be a nightmare.

I think the algorithm is universal across all categories. The only exception is hotel and lodging which is treated differently.

@@rosencrown incentivizing 5 star reviews is BOTH illegal and will get your GBP suspended for breaching Google T&C.
