In this vintage speech from Rabbi JJ tells the crowd how the Rebbe attracted the American Bochurim and reads for the very first time a personal letter from the Frierdiker Rebbe which he considered as his Tzava to him.

What can I say thanks to him I am part of Chabad ,that same year I was a young student and Rabbi Hecht had a summer study program in the Catskills for college students ,I did not interact with him but I remember that he came to camp for Shabbat and that he would pay us weekly in cash about $1500 in 1987 a lot of money then what effort it cost I don't know but his reward is great and like me there are probably thousands that owe him for children and grandchildren walking in the way of chassidus Chabad to greet mashiach .יהי זכרו ברוך
I was apart of that exact same program two summers ago. I absolutely adored it. Never in my life did I ever felt so close to Torah or yiddishkeit. I have nothing but the highest respect for the Chabad movement.
